Omg !!!! The first time I had the boil it was like a couple years ago in Manhattan. It was so good then. And now it's soooo amazing ! I had the steak with crab cakes and I chose broccoli and garlic bread as my side. Omgggg the steak was so delicious and juicy. It was lemon garlic butter flavor and it did not disappoint. I also came during Happy Hour, so I had the Passionfruit margarita. It was really good and tart. It had enough alcohol as well, but the second margarita I received taste even better for some reason. Great attentive service and great food. This is a nautical themed restaurant on Flatbush offering seafood boils. I had a quick dinner here tonight with the bestie and we sat at the bar (we were early for our reservation so we took first available). Dozen oysters to start were fresh and cold with the perfect accoutrements. Lobster Mac and cheese was rich and delicious. Clams casino were nicely flavored, buttery. Calamari was great, perfectly fried. Oysters Rockefeller were my favorite actually; juicy and just flavorful. Overall a nice experience in a nice spot. Food poisoning! Service was great but our experience was ruined a day later when half of our party experienced all the classic signs of food poisoning (chills, fever, abdominal pain, nausea, fatigue, bowel issues). The one common denominator was this restaurant. Can't decide whether it was the raw oysters or poor food handling but I won't be back. Unfortunate all things considered. read more

Came on someone's suggestion for her birthday. New place in the ashes of Woodland...clean and spacious. Low key vibe. Seaside aesthetic and vibe to give you impression of being in Maine or Boston. Beautifully lit bright white bar with a decent alcohol selection and drinks on tap. Nice raw bar menu with selection. Space is used well with booths along the walls and tables in between. Not crowded on a Saturday night which made things easier. Paper linings on the tables since y'all apparently can't seem keep yourselves or the tables clean with these boils lol. Saint Mojito...not too tart, a little zing, tasty & sweet. Some love went into making this drink, I approve. Mac and cheese could use a bit more spice but well made & really good, & with a rosemary sprig. Look at love, y'all. Hoping main course keeps the same energy... The soft shell crab is not actually in a basket, & it is heavy on the batter. Additionally, the Garlic bread came out after the meal instead of with, which was weird. It was...ok. Let's start with how excited my partner and I were to eat here! We love seafood, we are from out of town, this location was near our lodging, and the restaurant looked great! My first warning should have been that the server/host first made sure we knew 20% would automatically be added to our check. This was fine as we normally tip more. Never a question of allergies etc. These things would still have been overlooked had we had a nice experience. Our drinks came out quickly however our food didn't come out. Multiple tables that came in after us, ordered long after us, and ordered much more food for larger parties than our party of 2 received their food and even finished their meals prior to one of our menu items coming out. After speaking to a food runner, our server, and who we think to be the manager we finally received one of our 4 ordered items. Two were appetizers that were the last two items to arrive. We ordered the Mac and cheese app, calamari app, a warm lobster roll with fries, and a Caesar salad with an added crab cake. The Mac & cheese was good. The calamari was very good. The lobster roll was not a lobster roll. It did not have lobster, it had Langoustine which looked like the langoustine I buy frozen at Costco. At that there was very little meat and a lot of some sort of stuffing. The roll was edible but not at a price tag of $30. The Caesar salad was large leaves of lettuce, no prep other than tossing some dressing on it. The flavor of the dressing was nice but again nothing special. The crab cake was awful! It was a premade, frozen, then fried and tossed on the plate. I wouldn't even call it edible. The manager did take out drinks off of our check which really just took off the gratuity. I'm happy the gratuity was at least left for the server. Was the service worth 20%? Absolutely not, however servers have a tough job!! For the price, quality, value, service, The Boil did not do even mediocre in any area. We were most let down that we wasted some of the little time during our stay to have a nice meal. We wasted time, money, and tummy space/calories!! If we didn't have somewhere we needed to be at a certain time we certainly would have left earlier and given up. My advice; spend your time, money, tummy space/calories somewhere else!!! There are so many great places nearby, go somewhere else! read more

Ima give this place a 3 star because of the food and drinks and only the food and drinks. Reason it couldn't get a 4 or 5 from me is the service and lack of service from the staff. I walked in and stood there for 6 mins before I had to walk to the waiter and say I made a reservation. Mind you it's a bald man who is the manager walking past me placing menus by the door and yet an acknowledgment. No hi no greeting nothing. Cute ambiance. Better than the one in the city for sure. I loved the boil's other locations, but it has now become such a rip off it's insulting. Went to dinner with my daughter. I ordered two vodka and club sodas (doubles), and they charged me $48 for the 2 drinks, more than the airport! To the people that own this place. If a single is $11, a double isn't supposed to be $22. For that price there shouldn't also be an individual charge for club soda on top of it. If you charged me for an individual bottle of club soda for my drink, you should have given me the bottle and used it for my second drink when you charged me again for Club soda. It annoyed me so much that I was going to organizing a large dinner here and now I moved it. read more

This restaurant is prices are too high for the small amount of food they give you. I ordered lobster roll very small again !, they add high percentage of gratuity on the bill. Staff was okay but didn't go above and beyond to make me feel even if the food was bad that they were worth getting tipped. Quality of the food was not that great. Oh my goodness!!! The Cajun sauced grill snapper!! Yes yes yes! Today, tomorrow, and any other day, yes please!!! So delicious! One of the best seafood dishes I've tasted. (To be fair, I don't eat fish often lol) So my friend and I ate dinner at the Boil in BK and were immediately greeted with smiles at the door. We went as soon as they opened around 5pm. My friend ordered the oysters, east and west coast. Our waitress, I'm so sorry I forgot her name, was the sweetest and kindest server. She explained the difference between the coastal oysters. My friend enjoyed the west coast more. Now, back to this snapper. So I wasn't sure how I wanted it prepared, and I couldn't decide on the sauce. Once again, I asked our server for her opinion. (Asian lady, I don't know how else to describe her, but she was so helpful). Anyway, she recommends having it grilled with the Cajun sauce. As soon as they brought it out, I was intrigued. The presentation was beautiful. I'm not being superfluous lol. One bite... wow this is pretty good. But then I found with each bite, I loved it more and more. I really enjoyed this dish. I've had the boil several times ive never had a complain until I've visited this location.. service was good they are trying but they need to have who cooks and make the sauce at the city locations cause when I usually order spicy my lips are burning and I did not taste any type of spicy on those crabs.. I won't be visiting this location again sorry to say..I would say go to chrystie street if you looking for good crabs read more

I dined at various other The Boil locations so I can't give a review on the food at this specific location BUT I will describe one thing. Unlike the Manhattan locations where you can pick up food (and drinks) and go, the Brooklyn location does not have that. I waited until 5 PM thinking I could pick up food but sadly I was unable to do so. I had to go to Manhattan to do so. Yes, Grub Hub is available but at that point, I could've done other errands such as going food shopping for my family and I. The point of having a Brooklyn location is honestly a waste if locals have to rely on Grub Hub and other services. I'm not saying this because I'm a cheap ass but more so because if I'm actually in front of the restaurant or down the street, why the hell shouldn't I be able to just pick up food. This was my second time visiting the Brooklyn Boil, I've visited several of there locations including the one in Jersey. The service and food have always met or exceeded my expectations but on this visit it was not the case. The service was perfect and the location empty so the expectations was set high. When I received my food the items did not meet my expectation and past experience. After notifying the waitress the manager came to my table introduced her self and completely took ownership change my experience completely around making it one of the best experiences I've received. Even had my order redone to perfection and bonus fries. Would highly recommend for a good date night or just a time out with family and friends read more

This is the best Cajun Seafood spot in NYC. They have live crawfish!! You have to get the Oysters Rockefeller appetizer too. It is worth waiting for. The whole red snapper and USDA Prime ribeye steak is only $35 dollars. The house special cajun blend is so addictive!, but the standout has to be the bread pudding for deasert!. I ordered the crab cakes for starters and it literally tasted like they don't use lemon it was so fishy (good seafood should not be fishy) - if you know you know. Have come here a few times now, fell in love with the food from the first visit. We immediately got sat with no reservation, they're transparent about the 20% gratuity charge on the bill before seating you which is also great. Have had the whole cluster to share with my partner and I, we have the Cajun mix at a spicy level comes with potato's and corn and it's perfectly balanced in flavor and not over cooked at all. Drinks are decent, nothing out of this world, but the bars set up looks very nice. Unfortunately, after todays visit here while the crab was as always delicious, the service definitely left a sour taste in our mouth. We ordered a caramel cake which we've had three times in the past, and there seemed to be what appeared to look like a small fruit fly. Which is not a big deal, it happens, especially around sweet foods. Totally understandable, we didn't make a big thing of it, but obviously didn't want to eat it after seeing that. The server immediately took the plate and told us she'll give us a new cake. Then a few minutes later the manager comes out with the plate and all our spoons in the plate and tried to explain to us that it's vanilla bean. And whether it was or wasn't, obviously the appetite was lost from that cake. I understand the need to explain to us what it potentially is, but to now decide not to replace it and bring out our original dessert with all the spoons thrown in it and ask us if we still want it? Definitely not how a manager should handle a situation at all, it's uncomfortable. Definitely will be looking into other seafood boil places after this experience. It's really unfortunate. read more
