Locally caught boiled and perfectly seasoned seafood. The staff is attentive and very nice. You can color with crayons on the paper that covers the table. They put a bib on you because you will get messy... at least your hands will. The food has a slight kick to it but it's full of flavor and not overpowering. The tea is perfectly sweetened and the oysters oh my gosh! I hate oysters but I loved these!!!! I'll do picky about seafood. Everything... Just everything way perfect. A new local favorite for me. This restaurant is fun and family friendly and very entertaining for kids. Let them take a picture with the crab they bring with the food (if you order one). It's fun! It was the worst first time there. We were in a room with another large party. We were on a family night with nine adults and the other table was four adults and three children. By the time we got our teas. One of the men at that table starting raising his shirt asking if we had seen the titties yet. Then they proceed to tell us how drunk they were from sitting in car drinking for two hrs while waiting for a table. They were so loud we couldn't even converse between our family. It was another two hour wait for your food. In that time they were served three buckets of beers with eight beers in each. The more they drank the louder they got. Finally afters two hrs they brought out our boils they water and potatoes, crab and boudin were black. Worst seafood boil ever all over cooked and for a Cajun boil lacked about half the seasoning. read more

We tried a variety of things between all of us, I got the chill shrimp and they were very good and came with a variety of dipping sauces, my husband had some boudin and gumbo and our friends had some of the mussels. Omg amazing food and service. Glad we ordered the mild, it was spicy enough especially the corn. Spicy but delicious enough my 10 year-old could enjoy it with us. The beer there is great too and it's a hop skip and a jump from Rockport beach! Perfect. We scored a last minute reservation on our trip (due to the pandemic they are only accepting reservations and carry out). So glad we gave this place a shot. This was a weekend evening visit with a large group, so I recognize that a longer-than-usual wait time could be expected. But still: almost 1.5 hours to be seated, and over a 2-hour total wait from the time we arrived to get food in front of us. By then we tore into the free bread like savages. We were seated in the newer barn-like addition next to the original restaurant. No ambiance, or really any creature comforts except air conditioning. All of that would have been fine; I've been a BP fanatic for over 20 years, since back when the food was amazingly fresh and good and not too expensive. I don't go there for the creature comforts. I go for the food! And that's what got the rest of my group to go with me and my wife this time. So they were expecting this fantastic seafood boil we'd described. Usually I order the basic cajun boil and maybe add some stone crab or king crab legs, but this time we splurged for the Dungy Crab boil with Dungeness crabs. But when it (finally) came, the food was not even very hot. It was not spicy either, not even a little. The sausage, formerly one of my favorite parts of the boil, was like a bigger version of those bland, economy red-skinned hot dogs. There was nothing "cajun" about the food. I'm not exaggerating; I'm comparing this to the way the food there used to be. No spice that any of us could detect. The corn and potatoes tasted like, well, corn and potatoes. Nothing unique as far as flavor goes. The shrimp were decent. The two or three crabs we got were pretty good, but nothing to gush over. Oh, and the "hot dogs" we got for a couple younger kids who weren't really into the seafood - just a warm weenie on a piece of bread & a small bag of chips. Not even a real bun. Even after the 2+ hour wait, one of the kids looked at his sad excuse for a meal and actually said he'd lost his appetite. Expensive as always. Around $50 for the boil and $3 for each drink I think. After the extreme wait, the mediocre food and the high cost, pretty much everyone in the group says "not going back there again." I think I'm including myself in that statement. It's sad too, this was a place I've driven hours to get to before just for their (formerly) amazing food. I guess it's true, that unique restaurants that succeed and have to grow to keep pace with demand often can't maintain their high levels of quality, or have to increase prices, or both. read more

They do server beer here I'm not sure about alcohol. They had this mustard flavor dipping sauce I did enjoy. I wish I was able to try their gumbo and spicy mussels. My friends family bought us dinner while down on vacation and since COVID it had to be to-go. It was excellent! We got the Cajun mix with shrimp, crab, potatoes, sausage and corn. It did only come with a kind of sad loaf of bread but with all the other food and dipping sauces it didn't really matter. We tried dining here as a family on a Sunday after a fishing and camping trip. Coming from the Austin Tx area we have frequented the broiling pot when it was there and have had better experiences at other places like this one. We parked out a 30ft camper across the lot and unloaded our enthusiasm and appetites! (Family of 12) Ordered the blue crab shrimp broiler special x 3 and the waiter said they were out of blue crab so it would be substituted for shrimp. Ok, no problem. Add two gumbos and a side of spicy crawfish.1/2 lb. the place was pretty busy and people were cracking away at their crab legs and crawfish! Gumbos were served and we were pleased with it. The dining room emptied out and our party was left with about 6 other separate tables of two. Our main food arrived and the experience we expected was very watered down. No steam at all on our tables.our spread was sad. The substitute shrimp portion seemed to not even exist. And possibly replaced with sausage instead. My father, an expert fisherman, immediately noticed the shrimp looked odd.a few of us had a piece and didn't find it to our liking. The texture was mushy and the heads seemed that way too. Maybe overlooked or dead before broiling.Everything was COLD! For being in a steaming broiler pot surprised to be served at room temperature. I don't know what the establishment wanted us to do with the cold serving of mainly potatoes and sausage...we brought it to our waitress attention that it was cold and she just said oh ok and walked away. She came back and said they can replace the shrimp, yeah that's nice but what about the cold potatoes and corn and sausage? Just let it get colder? She left, My father had to get up to tell her again that we weren't satisfied. The serving size was sadly disappointing as well, like leftovers. The manager came to our table and had a lost look on his face, offered us nothing. My father had to tell him we were only paying for crawfish and gumbo. He agreed. The waitress came back with the ticket and my mother looked at it over twice, I guess to stick it to us, they charged for each individual drink for people who didn't even eat. So a 13.90 order of gumbos and 7 order of crawfish came to $55.00 with drinks. Yes $30 for drinks. I have not dined at an establishment that charged for drinks after either changing mind about the food or plate as an individual. The least management could do was comp drinks for half or more of the starving party. Maybe it's a common tactic played by this particular broiling pot. I should have taken the dead mouse as a sign of sure displeasure to come , upon arrival outside this place... I'll stick to fresh shrimp and hot food and customer care before checking this place out. Thankfully someone earlier, within 4 hrs of my post experienced the same taste of this place , so I'm not the only one with a similar review of this broiling pot. A group of 10 dined around 6:30 on a Thursday over spring break. We almost over ordered but the waitress talked us out of it. She was correct so we were grateful. The main takeaway was the experience of how they serve (they dump a big bowl of boiled seafood in front of you and you dig in bare hands; they give you a mallet & scissors and you off you go) The food was 'ok'. If you like spicy hot then your golden; if not you may need to go to Whataburger like one of our group did. I don't mind hot but hot without flavor I can do without. Would I go again? Probably not. I thought it was way over priced for what was prepared and served. We spent a total of $290 for 10; most just got water and 1 did not even eat. Lastly, the bread was awful! Food is served in all disposable containers (polystyrene) - they wrap up everything on the table and dump it in the trash. Place was filthy- bathroom was disgusting. And it was expensive. Sums this little dive up! Very simple unique atmosphere! Excellent oldies/jazz style music! The place was right off the water! They throw some paper on the table, help you put on a plastic bib and you have a variety of delicious crab and shrimp on their menu. The oysters on the half shell were FRESH! DELICIOUS! The seafood was FRESH AND TO DIE FOR! We ate outside on the patio! Drew our names on the walls with crayons! My husband and I found it simply romantic! Fun! Peaceful!
