Do not make the costly mistake of trusting the boot fitters of this store. Highly unethical store. Bootfitter here assessed my feet and convinced me to buy demo boots that I learned were too big and too high a flex for my level. As a result of these ill fitting boots I experienced a tremendous amount of pain, wasted hours trying to fix, and wasted hundreds of dollars and more considering the cost of skiing and ski trips. These boots also put me at a much more increased risk of injury.' After getting custom orthotics, and visiting a 2nd boot fitter, who said the boots are too big to be fixable, I returned to the boot pro (2 hours a way) drove two hours to go back to The Boot Pro. Boot pro confirmed the boots were infact way too big, provided a refund for the boots, without any apology or acknowledgement of the impact of their error. They even tried to upsell me some leftover boots. When I emailed the owner his response was that boot fitting is a complimentary service and implied he would not refund my money if I did not take down my negative google review. Showed no concern or apology. I've heard ill fitting boots are a common occurrence at this store and that the nearby totem store does a much better job. read more

I read the negative review/s and said f*ck it imma try them anyways. They seem to be mostly a ski shop, not snowboard. I had foot & toe pain when snowboarding and found out the insoles that come standard with boots are in fact, trash. The young dude that helped me set me up with custom insoles that he made on the spot for my feet at around $250. I picked them up the next morning around 7:30AM and hit the mountain. I haven't had any foot or toe issues since I got custom insoles here. It's more than I actually spent on the boots, but a pain free day on the mountain has its own value. Brought in some boots I purchased last season from a different retailer in CA. After a couple of days skiing on them, I was experiencing some quite painful shin bang. Matt spent quite a bit of time with me, and fitted me with custom insoles, and he added a piece on the tongue to relieve pressure. I came back the following morning and Jason helped me fine tune the fit with heat molding and a trimming of the tongue addition on one boot. They were both really lovely and I was on the slopes the rest of the day feeling great, with boots that felt just right. I have been skiing for close to 60 years....purchasing new ski boots has always been a big thorn in my side . My friends recommended The Boot Pro so I took them up on it. I have to tell you it was the best experience I have ever had. The boot fitter that I worked with asked the right questions and really listened to my responses to be able to understand the type of skier I was. He recommended a few boots, all of them would have worked but one just felt right. I had them custom fit which was an added bonus. I have yet to be back for any adjustments. Although this boot fitter is young, the knowledge he demonstrated regarding the equipment and process was awesome. I bought ski boots at the boot pro over the weekend. I'm still working through the exact fit but I'm extremely happy with the process. I came in with a 9 year old pair of Atomic Hawx that I was happy with but had packed out. After measuring me and knowing I was happy with the performance of my old boots, selecting another pair of Hawx was pretty simple. I skied on them for a day and had some pain on the outside of my forefoot. They heated the shell and punched them out a little bit and I anticipate we may have to make one more adjustment before they are perfect. I drove 4 hours to visit these folks in desperation for a backcountry boot fitting. I had a trip planned out in Jackson and needed a fighting chance for a proper fit before my trip. Waiting to get fitted in Jackson was too risky with stock usually being thin mid-winter. I bought a pair of boots online based on a virtual fitting (kudos to them for being so flexible. It's too bad it didn't work out) but I wanted these folks to evaluate the fit compared to my foot. It turns out, the boots would have fit but only with a lot of custom punching and grinding. Given the materials used for the boots I bought, I knew they weren't going to be easy to customize. I'm generally a difficult fit for all kinds of shoes and sneakers. Unfortunately, I was blessed with pizzas for feet. Not wanting to try to reinvent the wheel and even potentially breaking new boots, my boot fitter brought out a pair of Atomic Prime XTD's to try. I wasn't crazy about the extra weight compared to the Dynafit's I brought with me but I'd much rather have a well-fitted pair and let go of weight expectations at that point. I usually steer clear of Atomic boots but I placed my trust in my boot fitter. Two hours later, I had boots with custom footbeds that actually fit with the standard heat molding. No punching or grinding. Of course, boots always seem to fit well at the store, right? The true test was on the slopes and in the backcountry. I'm in Jackson now and I'm thrilled with the fit. My wide, flat feet with smallish ankles are super happy and comfy. The flex was perfect for my style of skiing and I can't believe how well these work at the resort. lets start this off from the beginning, I ordered a pair of boots style #804-4379 which said they were available on the website and about a week and a half goes by and a couple emails back and forth to check up on my boots with Todd his response was that thorogood has been notified of my order and they were shipping them asap. Another week goes by and another couple emails to which his response this time was that the style boots I ordered has been discontinued and would I like to pick out another style or would I like a refund. Well I was under the assumption that he had already talked to thorogood like he said and they were aware of my "discontinued " boot order or maybe they didn't even know that they had discontinued the boots , anyway I chose the to cancel my order as I had found the exact boots elsewhere and I thought no problem he gave me the option to cancel and I will just get the other boots and then my $265.00 back for this pair that were discontinued but still up on there site as available. That was September 14th 2022 and it is now December 19th 2022 and still now sight of a refund 4 months later. All I have recieved is the same email over and over saying they are sending another message to there accounting department and they are sorry for my troubles and the delay yada yada yada . I have no idea what could be taking so long unless they have other plans maybe getting the factory to make one more pair of boots just for me !? I am an intermediate skier just getting back in to the sport after and 15 year break. I needed new equipment, most importantly boots. My feet are wide and I have a high instep and I've never really had a boot that fit me right. I shopped near my home in CT for ski boots but had no luck. I did some research and found The Boot Pro at the base of Okemo. I'M SO GLAD I WENT! Both my husband and I had a great experience. At the Boot Pro, they had plenty of experienced boot fitters to help us out. They asked lots of questions and really honed in on what we wanted. Most importantly, they took measurements of my foot, including my instep - no one has ever done that before, and turns out, it makes a huge difference in the size and fit of the boot. After trying on a couple of pair, I narrowed it down to one, and then they were able to fit the boots to my feet. But you never really know how a boot fits until you ski in it. Well I'm happy to report that after 2 full days of skiing in these boots (Atomic Live Fit 80 ) they are by far the best boots I've ever skied in. There were no pinch points, no uncomfortable spots and no fatigue caused by ill fitting boots. I had an absolutely outstanding experience with Avery at the Boot Pro this past week. For the past 6 years I have been suffering through unbelievable foot pain with my $1000+ surefoot boots that I've had adjusted multiple times and still never been anything other than excruciatingly painful. I had started to believe that I might have to give up skiing. Avery recommended a couple boots for me to try and ultimately we settled on atomic hawx magna to accommodate my wide feet. I also opted for the custom footbeds because after the pain I had been in, I wasn't about to skimp. But here is where the experience really stood out. I was pretty convinced that I needed to go up a size, based on some rental experiences and the pre-customization feel of the boot. It would've been easy for them to let me buy the wrong boot. They let me try on both sizes and Avery was confident that I shouldn't go up a size. I decided to trust the experts. And boy am I glad I did! Two very full day of skiing AND walking all over the resort getting kids from ski school later the boots have ZERO pain points (oh yeah and I felt like a better, more controlled, less fatigued, skier too). After years of uncomfortable rental boots and trips to dozens of ski shops around New England to find the right boots the Boot Pro was the final stop. Immediately upon entering the shop I was greeted by an employee and asked what I can be helped with. Once I told the employee helping me I was having issues finding comfortable ski boots to fit my feet he started taking measurements and came up with five different boot recommendations. Was surprised to see a full 5 star rating but after multiple visits to the Boot Pro, I fully agree with everyone else. From their product line to service to price to location, the Boot Pro has beat all other ski shops I've been to. Although they specialize in boots, they also have skis, bindings, poles, and other gear. Everyone I interacted with at the store was very knowledgable, friendly, and seemed willing to help. I bought a pair of boots which have a life-time guarantee for fit molding and a set of skis after demoing 2 at Okemo. Although I also asked to look at the ski bags they had, they did not push me to buy one. Luckily for me, I went in March 2016 which was an astounding warm and short season in VT so everything in the store was 50% off. They even let me demo skis for free. The Boot Pro in Ludlow VT is the best example of providing the highest professional level of customer service I've experienced. I'm a long time (45 years) skier, and still ski black diamond and off piste terrain. Before last season, I traveled to the Boot Pro to buy new ski boots. At this point in my life, in addition to proper fitness, quality equipment starting with boot fit, is the most important factor in enjoying a full day of skiing. Unfortunately, my custom fitted boots had too many pressure points, and just didn't work well for me. My feet suffered. I knew I had to do something. I recently returned to see owner Shon Racicot to figure out what could be done. Shon and Jeremy spent a couple hours reviewing the problems with fit, and I tried several replacement boot options. I ordered a pair of work boots from The Boot Pro back in February 2015. I never buy footwear through mail order because I have weird feet and it is very difficult to size mine correctly. However, The Boot Pro guarantee impressed me so, I did order pair of boots. Well sure enough when I got the boots they were a little to tight and I paid about $140,00 bucks for them, so I returned them. I was meticulous adhering to every aspect of their return policy, I waited for about 45 days and had not got refund. I sent an email and waited some more. I finally got my refund today, over four months later. I had to write them another nasty email and threaten them that I would indeed write a negative review about my experience. My advice is check to be sure merchants actually refund your account. Don't take for granted they will do it. read more

After a horrible rental situation my dad took me down to The Boot Pro for a solution. My mother had gone there for custom boots to accomadate her "unique" feet and highly reccomended them. Phil immediately started helping me the moment I was in the door. First he sat me down and measured my feet then took a look at my ankles and feet. Then he asked me all sorts of questions about my skiing abilities to get a feel for which boot would best suit my needs. He zeroed in on a pair of Atomic boots for Intermediate to Advanced skiers and I have been happy ever since. Although I'm still on my rental skis I already have so much more control just from having the right boot. Boot NON-Pro took advantage of someone who didn't know much about ski boots and sold a adult female a boys racing boot because they had nothing in my size. My husband insisted I get new ski boots so we went to Boot Pro. The sales person came out with a bright red pair in which i said that I am not picky but i am not wearing big red boot. After a while he then came out with a black boot and said that was all he had and that they were used once and returned and that he could give me a deal on them. Since I wasn't going to another shop I bought them. I wore them for a season, they were heavy, uncomfortable, stiff, etc. So once again my husband dragged me ski boot shopping stating that the boots i had were not good enough which i agreed with but i was willing to live with. When i showed the Killington boot shop what i was wearing he said it was a BOYS RACING BOOT! I didn't believe him so I went to another shop and was told the same thing,So Boot NON-Pro you didn't have any boots in my size and you sell me that! After a long break from skiing (more than a decade) I quickly got back into it and decided that I should invest in my own, quality gear. All of my research pointed to getting a pair of well-fitted boots before anything else so I asked for recommendations in the Ludlow area. The Boot Pro kept coming up in both online forums and in person conversations so I decided to pay them a visit. Matt met me at the door and began chatting about my skiing history and abilities while measuring my feet and ankles. He gave me five options, all of which he was able to slightly adjust based on my feedback. I eventually settled on the first pair I'd tried on, slightly tweaked to fit my feet perfectly. I was out the door with a gorgeous pair of purple Atomic LiveFits that also happened to be on sale! My feet were comfy all weekend and I could tell a big difference in my skiing almost immediately. I had waited all season to come up to Okemo and get myself some properly fitted boots with whatever options it took to make sure that they fit great (read as ready to spend the $$$). I wasn't sure which shop I was going to go to so I asked around the mountain with the guys in rentals, the instructors at the ski school and the lift operators and every single person said the place to go was The Boot Pro, so off I went. I was met by a bunch of guys who knew their stuff inside and out. They measured my foot, analyzed the way that my foot moved and how my foot was oriented while standing. There were at least four or five boots that were brought out for me to try on to see which ones fit best right out of the box and then the fitting really started. My choice was a Dalbello boot which has a fully moldable liner and required a sort of torture of putting my foot into an oven baked piece of plastic for about ten minutes, but anything for ski boot nirvana. Then I had custom footbeds made (easy task) and left for the afternoon. Upon my return, they had stretched out the boot shell in spots and had done some grinding, etc. to the footbeds. When I tried them on, they fit like a glove, a stiff plastic glove, and off I went. I skied all day today on them and I had some issues with one foot, so back to the shop for some tweaking. They did some more work, I endured another torture session and Eureka, I think that they have done it. Even if I have to go back, I wanted to write the review now because everyone at the shop has been great, the owner assisted me today with the refit and assured me that we would get them perfect. By the way, the other boot that had no problems today was hands down the best fitting, best performing boot that I have ever had on. Ski boots are not a comfortable piece of apparatus, and taking them off at the end of the day will always be a relief, but I never had my foot in a boot all day without issue until now. If you need boots or gear, I would suggest that you go here first and save yourself the hassle of going to a lesser shop. read more

After coming home from a great ski trip with the family this weekend, I decided to spend a few minutes to write a quick review of the Boot Pro. When we arrived at Okemo this weekend the High temperature for three days was going to be about 2 degrees. In order to salvage the weekend I knew I was going to have to invest in some Electric Boot Warmers. I had looked at them on Amazon previous to the trip but didn't feel like spending the $250 per set (3 sets of feet to warm). Well I went into Boot Pro and they had them in stock. Not only did they install for free they sold them for $229 / set. Bear in mind it was literally -3 degrees out when I inquired about them, they easily could have charged me $250 + an installation fee at that point, but instead they stayed late, installed my chargers for free and gave me a very good price on the heaters. Of course while I was waiting for the heaters I was checking out the new Kastle skis my brother in law had been telling about that he had demo'ed. Of course being the consummate nice guys that they are at Boot Pro, they offered me a complimentary demo since I had just purchased all the boot warmers. Well after skiing those Kastle's it is essentially impossible to not fall in love with them ( I think they knew this already). Of course I walked out with a new set the next day, which they mounted and had ready in the time it took me to have two drinks next store with some friends at Killarney's. I have to say every person from the front counter checkers to the sales guys upstairs, to the setup guys in the basement every person was super friendly, sincere and absolutely a pleasure to do business with.
