I generally would give The Bottle Shop an excellent review as I have always loved their sandwiches. I work down the street, so it is super convenient to go get lunch. However, this week I have had three occasions where the food was sub-par. My favorite is Salami and Pepperoncini on Black Rye with cream cheese. The first day this week I had this it was alright, but you could tell they had gone light on the cream cheese. The second day this week, the spread of cream cheese was super thin and the ratio of meat to cheese was way off. Well, today was the kicker. When I got my sandwich it had two tiny slices of cream cheese, one on each side of the split sandwich. Each slice was not even half the length of the sandwich. The worst part was I had asked for extra cream cheese because of the two previous visits. I am not thrilled with the quality as of late. I hope the owners are reading their Yelp, because it will take some time for me to go back. I can get a quality sandwich with a good amount of cream cheese at Schat's. read more

It's been about 6 months since i was last at the Bottle Shop. At that time tbey still made the best potato salad in town. Picked up some today and it didnt taste very good. Kinda sour. Then realized there was bacon in it! Yuk. Normally someone mentions when a typically vegetaria dish has meat added. Won't go back. Sandwiches are ok, but nothing out of the norm. Grew up in the area, and I make sure to hit the Bottle Shop every time I'm back in the state - miraculously they're still around today, 20 years later, old television perpetually tuned to Fox News and all. Wish I could dock them a star for discontinuing sprouts (a old off-menu perk for those in the know) but even with the stock menu, there's just some uncanny *something* about a Bottle Shop sandwich that nobody else can touch. I stopped into the unassuming Bottle Shop with my boss while on are way back from up north. I found this little deli on yelp and was not diappointed!! You almost wouldn't know there was a tasty deli in there if it wasn't for yelp. To order you fill out an order ticket and build whatever kind of sandwich your heart desires. And yes, the rave about the Mendocino mustard is legit. I can't put my finger on what makes it unique but its delish!! I got a turkey and smoked cheddar (on eof my favorites) on a crunchy sourdough roll. (they have soft too as well as many other choices of bread). They have 3 different sizes of sandwiches that you can choose from depending on your level of hunger. The place is absolutely STOCKED with different drinks, different types of chips and wine!! The Bottle Shop will definitely be a destination point whenever I'm back in ukiah. read more

The sandwiches are great and I love the set up! I love being able to pick out a beer or soda and chips with my sandwich. I've been many times and it's a place we go when we visit Ukiah! Only drawback for me is the customer service.
