If you don't love Spiro's, you don't have a heart. I've known and loved Spiro and his amazing food and family from attending well over a decade of festivals throughout California. When I had the chance to visit his adorable and welcoming brick and mortar place in Ukiah, you can bet I drove out of my way to do so ~ and boy, am I glad I did! Gyro just as delicious as I've ever had, with delightful service to match. Wish I lived closer so I could enjoy this yummy food more regularly, since they no longer do festivals. Delicious! We were driving up 101 and wanted something slightly unusual but delicious for lunch. Nothing like Gyros and Fries! I focus mostly on the food, not service--so I can say we were talking about the gyros and the sauce later on when our dinner in Ukiah wasn't quite as good as Spiro's. Now, even though I try to ignore service and focus on food, the daughter of the owner who was taking our order was just so friendly. She even gave my kids a sparkling greek drink to try. And this really motivated them to eat up their halves of the gyro. This little thoughtful touch elevated the experience from super solid/visit again to a happy, warm memory. I think this is going to be our go-to place when driving up 101 to stop and take a break. read more

CASH ONLY. Family owned and operated aside from the cook who has the fastest hands in town I'm pretty sure. A Gyro comes out in like, 45 seconds. Delicious and comforting Greek food from a Greek family. Spiro, the father, is a real gem of a human. Ukiah is lucky to have this place. Do you not know about it? Grab a bite. This was beyond excellent. There isn't much in terms of seating, and they don't have a public restroom, but the food is some of the best gyro that I've had. I cannot recommend it enough. Oh- they are cash only, so be ready for that, although I heard them tell someone they take Venmo, so you might try that. The people working by were super friendly and Spiro himself came out and asked whether we liked his food. Loved it! read more

Stopped here on a road trip to get a quick bite. The place is small and has 3 tables. The owner is a lovely dude who kept us entertained as we waited for our food. We got the lamb gyro combo. The lamb was very tasty and the whole pita went very well together. We got a couple of cookies from the dessert display to go. Overall a great hole in the wall serving traditional Greek gyros. Stopped for lunch in my way through Ukiah and hit up this spot. I ordered Lamb Gyro and Dolmas. The gyro was good, everything was fresh, lettuce, tomatoes onion. The tzatziki was like a thick tangy yogurt drink, good, but not like the usual thick Greek yogurt flavored with lemon, garlic cucumber, etc. The flat bread was warmed on the grill to slightly toast but still soft. The gyro meat was also good, standard lamb/beef off the spit. I don't think it was 100% lamb. Dolmas, good, good lemon taste. read more

I did not to expect to find an authentic Greek gyro in Ukiah, but this is the real deal. Literal mom and pop shop, homemade and authentic. I didn't find better during my visit to Greece 3 years ago. My niece and I stopped in to have lunch with a friend. We had never had Greek food before so we were definitely curious. Of course we didn't have cash on us and they don't take cards. Loved everything, but those fries OMG! They were absolutely phenomenal. Even if you don't like Greek food, GO FOR THE FRIES. The whole time we were chatting and eating, the owner was sitting nearby and chatting with us. My niece and I want to go to Greece in a couple years (fingers crossed for the end of Covid) and she told us a little about it. Absolutely 100% will be back!!
