They sat me in a cozy booth and the waiter, Matthew, was polite, prompt and attentive. I ordered a tuna melt and salad, both quite good, and was about to decline dessert when Matthew mentioned Indian pudding. "You have Indian pudding?" I asked. "Yes," he said, and brought me a dessert bowl filled with this warm old-time dessert made primarily of cornmeal, molasses and eggs, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. I've been back three times since and it's always the same high standard whether the server is Matthew, Ella, Stephanie or Michael. I start reading about this spot, Student Prince is an authentic German restaurant. I speak fluent beer so my choice is now made up. I had a big lunch so I figured I'd drink a pint of good German beer and a small plate before I'm on my way. Yeah right! I started with a tap beer and Jägerschnitzel (Schnitzel with Mushroom Gravy, my favorite) the dish came with two sides, sauerkraut and spaetzle. The Jägerschnitzel is a big cutlet, there is a lot of food on my plate. I take a bite of Jägerschnitzel along with some sauerkraut. I take it slow and I was able to knock it all out. The Jägerschnitzel was very good, this is a fantastic spot. The restaurant feels very authentic, from the booths to the bar, they did a great job in recreating a German pub. My waitress kept coming over to make sure I'm ok. She told me to make some room because the Strudel shouldn't be missed. I'm told it's also topped with vanilla ice cream. Another great dish and highly recommended. Student Prince, I don't get the name. I'm glad I found this spot on Yelp. If you want a great German restaurant, Student Prince is a must.

A crock of chilly and a Guinness. It was like 11:30am so it wasn't that busy , the waitress got my drink and placed my order in a reasonable time . She brought out the chilly and my Rubin at the same time, apologizing that there coming out together. I never would have ordered the chilly if I knew they were going to send them out together. My Rubin and fries ! Yes fries were ok, she messed up my order and I got fries instead of the coleslaw. My receipt said fries $2 on it , so it was the waitresses mistake . The Rubin needed a little more thousand island on it . Maybe order some extra on the side ? I took 1/2 my sandwich home and added some extra sauce , it was even better . Prices were reasonable . I completely agree with other reviewers about glove etiquette. It's always awesome to walk by the cook smoking outside then she goes in without handwashing, then handles your food without putting on gloves. Also I agree with other reviewers about the service, if you're not a "regular" you're treated as if you're bothering them. Sue? Takes phone orders, services the counter, puts orders together, etc. she has been there for some time and she's somewhat difficult to deal with because of that. She'll let you know how important her job is, trust me on that one. Many of the guys I work with order from here too and they experience the same issues. I go to O'Briens generally as a last resort because it's quick and easy. You're WAY better off going to get food at EAT down on Page, by CRC and across the street from Gendens Auto Parts. EATS quality is by far superior as well as their safe food handling practices.
