I lived here for the last 2 years and really enjoyed my stay. Mark was amazing and helped me for everything. He is one of the big reasons why I decided to stay with this place. Pros; - Great location, very close to Americana - Friendly customer service (Mark!) very quick responsive maintenance - Lots of community parties that are actually fun and helpful - Many evacuation drills which made me feel safe - Respectful to pets - NO BUGS!!! Never seen one. Cons; - Other residents sometimes smoke at the balcony even though it is prohibited. - The lobby was structured a bit weird with the one floor elevator. Little interesting. - Guest parking was SUPER limited (like only 3 spots and always taken). Also not validated. Difficult to have a friend visiting over. You can purchase the pass if you're resident. Not a resident but had a 5 star experience with the leasing office - MARK! Our family was looking to downsize from our current apartment but also undecided if we wanted to stay in LA or move to The Bay Area, we decided to go look for apartments anyways. Mark is the most patient, considerate, compassionate, kind leasing agent I've ever encountered. From the first moments of speaking to him, you never got a sense that he tries to lease out apartments just cause, he doesn't sell you on points you don't care about, HE SOLELY FOCUSES ON YOU AND YOUR NEEDS and tries his best to find you something that fits. From asking if I'm noise sensitive to carpet versus concrete, he pays attention. He then took his time showing us 6 (maybe more) apartments. The brand had couple beautiful loft style apartments that I immediately fell in love with once I saw it. But he didn't show me those until my boyfriend asked about lofts. Most agents will show you something OUTSIDE of what you're looking for (ex an expensive penthouse, apartment out of your price range, etc) but like I said you never got the sense you were pressured to sign immediately or that he was trying to sell you something. That day we spent a good 3 hours at the brand, finally applied, and paid a security deposit. Mark was so patient! The NEXT day I was unsure about which apartment we truly wanted so we went back and Mark made sure another agent (Frank) took us to see whatever apartments we wanted to again (he was busy with other clients). At almost the 72 hour mark (cut off time to get your deposit back), I called Mark first thing in the morning and told him we decided to leave LA and the process was so easy, no pressure, like talking to an old friend who understands 100%. 5 days later I got my refund and I am still blown away by his customer service. The Brand is centrally located, wonderfully staffed, nice residents (spoke to a few), has beautiful apartments! If we ever reconsider staying in LA or moving back to the area, definitely would move into the Brand! Our family thanks you Mark! read more

This was the best experience I've had moving into an apartment. Aside from the building being in a prime location (which is awesome)...Jadelyn, who I believe is the senior sales agent was able to put my mind at ease with all the questions I had about finding the right apartment. With her help I feel confident in my decision and can see she puts in 100% of her effort when dealing with potential tenants and those who are already here. I have lived at The Brand for about 5 years across three different apartments in their complex. My experience has been fantastic. The leasing staff does change quite often, but everyone they bring in has been great. Special shout out to Misty, the property manager, and Kevin, in maintenance. Misty has been excellent in helping my partner and I navigate issues when they arose. And Kevin is so good at what he does and is so pleasant. He has even given us advice when it came to projects we had around the apartment. And of course you cannot beat the location--so much great food in walking distance! We love The Brand! read more

Great staff and i love the community Although I have had some issues with maintenance related things in the past, most namely mis communication between the maintenance boss and leasing agents/manager, I am overall very happy with this place and I highly recommend it! Oscar in maintenance really helped me with a kitchen plumbing issue I had and was very kind and informative on the issue and fixed it very promptly! Thank you Oscar for making my experience even more pleasurable. In my experience it takes weeks to get a maintenance concern addressed when living in a luxury apt community - but not here. By chance I saw George in the lobby and asked him to have my bathtub floor drain fixed. He immediately placed the request in his computer and immediately scheduled Kevin to work on it in less than 48 hours. In the past years I have lived in this complex ( I moved in in 2014, moved out after a year and moved back in 2018) I find Kevin to be the most reliable guy in the maintenance team. He is very professional, friendly but respectful. As to the leasing office team, I find Gustavo to be very unprofessional and lack work ethics. In one of my move outs, I turned over my apartment keys to him on the last day of my lease but he did not put it on record that he received my keys on time and I ended up being charged for additional days of rent! Malisa, Jackie, Mark, Shelly, and the entire maintenance team have been phenomenal! If I call the office at a time when the team is unavailable, I will always receive a call back, even when I don't leave a message! The leasing office and amenity spaces always smell pristine and clean -- the maintenance team is always either vacuuming the hallways, cleaning the trash rooms, beautifying the exterior, or tidying up the trillion lounges this place offers! My roommate and I moved to The Brand about 45 days ago, and we absolutely love it! We started our apartment search from the 134 Freeway, and worked our way down Central to each of the new apartment buildings, and The Brand offers everything we wanted! We have been living here for 6 months and it pains me to write this review as I have given the building many chances to redeem itself: The bad: The hallways smell like smoke, the building is supposed to be a non smoking building and no one gives af. But that is nothing compared to the ROTTEN smell that overtakes the first floor of the building, I am actually glad we have had to wear a mask half of this time because every time I leave the elevator it's like a slap in the face, the first floor parking smells too, it smells like sulfur which cannot be healthy. Living here during quarantine was pretty obnoxious considering it is like being on a stagnant cruise ship but what has made it worse is that now that the amenities have opened up people have forgotten about covid and are overtaking the common areas like nothing. The security guard is useless. We have had constant issues in our place with plumbing, I now have to live with a gurgling sink because they have already tried to fix it so many times. The gas lights on the stove don't work correctly. There is always a lack of hot water, it will get mildly warm at best. Anytime there an issue and you bring it up with management they pretty much gaslight you. In all, counting down the days until our lease is over. Oh and it has been a nice touch to see all of the liability waivers posted all around the building bc of covid, basically just solidifying other reviews that they are nice until they get a contract out of you and you are locked in for 12 months. The GOOD: The janitorial team and maintenance team are very nice and you can tell work with what they have, leasing team is rude with the exception of Gus who is very nice. read more

I've only recently moved to Glendale and was excited to find a space that met all of my needs. The building as a whole is very responsive and serviceable, it is clear that tenant accommodation and customer service is highly regarded within the property. Naturally being in a new space, there are maintenance needs that arise. With temperatures outside going up, when my cooling was having issues I grew quite concerned with having decent airflow in my unit. There were quite a few factors why my cooling wasn't functioning correcting and the maintenance team exhausted all options to ensure they could narrow down the root of the cause. A special thank you to Oscar and Kevin for coming to aid so quickly when needed. It brings me a lot of peace to know that my home space and those that keep it running smoothly, take a lot of pride in continuously doing so. read more

Since I have been living here at The Brand. I have to say that I have enjoyed the complex. The staff is extremely attentive and nice. They have little gatherings for all residents at The Brand which I enjoy. The building is clean and so modern. The crime in the area is non existent. I really enjoy that Glendale Galleria and The Americana is a couple of blocks away. The live life and clubs are so close. So there is always something to do. I've been living here for many years, and it's been a great experience so far. The apartment is placed in a convenient location and well-managed in terms of cleanliness, facilities, gyms and lounge areas. Mail room is not perfect but pretty good. Staff members are highly responsive. Particularly, Kevin in the maintenance team has been great helping fix all the major and minor problems at my home from plumbing to AC controller. As I'm not on top of home management, I highly appreciate his service as well as the maintenance request system built in the online portal which I think is very efficient. The Brand is by far the best apartment building I've ever lived in. Do you believe in love at first sight? Because from the first day my partner and I came in we just knew it was the one. They have a great selection of unique floorplans which is something I was really interested in, even the studio type apartments are fairly large and beautiful. While it's only been a few months, I can already tell you I'm definitely not going to want to leave after my lease is up. Here's a few things to note: Location: This is the best part of living here. You can walk anywhere! There's so many amazing restaurants and I can just go to the movies or the mall whenever I want. Even though we have a (fabulous) gym here, I can easily convince myself that I don't have to go because I walked to In and Out and went shopping which, you know, definitely counts as a workout. Price: It's worth every penny. There are other apartments in the area that also consider themselves luxury type apartments but they're either way too expensive, lack similar amenities or cool layouts, and they're not as central in location as the Brand is. Office/Maintenance: I was worried a bit at first when I read some reviews about the management, but to be honest, I have only had wonderful experiences. The maintenance people are SO sweet and they keep everything so clean. Mark (office) is a such a great guy and I can tell he's super busy but he always finds the time to answer questions or send help when needed. I don't know how he and the staff do it because I would probably have a mental breakdown if I had to deal with every renter issue, but he's the real MVP here. If you have the opportunity to live here, don't hesitate to do it. As far as noise complaints, I haven't had any, but it might depend on your unit how noisy your neighbors are. I suggest coming in at different times to gauge the noise level. read more

After 2 years living in this community it's very sad torealize that the only service/help/attention that you have is by the time you sign the lease. Building is beautiful, location is amazing but the depressive and really disappointing experience comes to Holland Residental Management. They really never return calls. The Brand Apartments are simply the worst management company I have ever interacted with. This company employs a systematic method of manipulation, deceit, and disrespect to prioritize their profits over the experiences of their tenants. Aside from the bug (waterbugs & roaches) problems, the lack of maintenance, and the mediocre amenities, I only lived there for three months and was financially screwed by them and was treated over and over again with the most blatant disrespect and disgusting tactics I've ever seen. NOTE: They will probably respond to this with some generic "we care about customer satisfaction" response - they will say ANYTHING to make you sign the lease and then remind you how much they screwed afterward. With a plethora of better options, just skip this one. Details if you want them: MANAGEMENT: Mark and Shayla, the two 'senior' managers are unequivocally manipulative and ruthless, lying and misleading on multiple occasions and being incredibly disrespectful to my family and I. - Mark lied about the security deposit saying it was only going to be $250 but then charging me $500 because "I didn't read the full lease myself", charged an extra $30 'parking registration fee' that others didn't get, and upon a mistake with billing said I should wait to pay the rent, stalled, and then charged me a $100 late fee that he refused to refund. He would watch you bleed out on the sidewalk without a care in the world don't trust a word he says. - Shayla regularly ignored all of our inquiries about rent, extensions, and maintenance specifically trying to stall until the last day of the lease to then charge us $4000+ a month for a studio lease trying to leave us with no choice. She doesn't answer, is manipulative, and works in conjunction with Mark to extract as much money out of the tenants as possible. BUGS: While I was staying at the Brand I had several issues with water bugs and roaches. Since they are located above restaurants, it's not a mystery that they would have bug problems. This was a deal breaker for me and was flatly ignored when I asked for maintenance to get an exterminator or address the issue. MAINTENANCE: The Brand swindled me on the security deposit regarding the maintenance. The concrete floors were stained and cracked when I moved in and, though I sent them detailed pictures within my first week, Mark still tried to hold me liable to the damages to take my security deposit, which I wasn't in a position to fight. Every time I requested service from the leasing office, it was either ignored, or came a week late and didn't do what they needed to. If you're looking in Glendale, go here instead. We lived at Brand Apartments for 8 months. Worst place. Big mistake we chose them instead of Next on Lex. Brand apt if filthy, cockroaches in the hallways, the rooftop and other common areas and we started seeing them in our apartment. I complained but no one cared. Smell of weed is overwhelming. Cleaning crew don't do a good job, barely clean the surface. Maintenance is slow. Front office staff is very accommodating but management is awful. Next on Lex is clean, spotless, for the same price. We have left already but I will never ever stay there again or recommend that place to anyone. All they care about is money. read more

Update: Kierstin left. She took some small things with her, like no more dog treats in the lobby. We miss her, a lot. There is a lot of noise from upstairs neighbors walking. You get used to it though. -------- It's been about a week since we moved in, and I love The Brand so far (except the parking situation which I'll get to). The Brand was the fifth building in the area that we toured. And honestly, I think a significant factor to what led us to choosing the Brand was our leasing agent Kierstin. We did a tour with her and looked at more units than I can even remember. Every time we asked to see another one, she answered with a smile and "absolutely." Shortly after telling her we would think about it, we called her back (literally 5 min after leaving) and decided to sign a lease. She left an impression that definitely influenced our decision to choose the brand over the other places. Before move-in, she answered our ridiculous amount of questions via email and helped make us feel at home before we even got there. The one downside to the Brand is parking. On the top of my short list of must-haves was secured, assigned parking, and the ability to get a 2nd spot (I was willing to pay whatever added fee it would be). We toured The Griffith nearby and passed up nearly $4,000 in rent concession and gift cards because they only offered one spot. At the Brand, Kierstin did let us know while on our tour that a 2nd spot was a maybe, and not guaranteed. But it wasn't a hard no. We later learned that there's about a 40 person wait list, so it's basically not going to happen. On our original lease though, we were assigned two spots, and learned on move-in day that it was a mistake (which we learned after finding someone else parked in those spots and had an awkward encounter). We likely wouldn't have chosen the Brand if we knew a 2nd spot was out of the question. But in came a Kierstin again and she went above and beyond to help make the situation better, which we are genuinely very thankful for. While we still only have 1 permanent spot onsite, we feel better about things currently. I'm already not looking forward to the day she leaves the Brand as she really has done so much. Any property would be lucky to have her. Overall, the building and area is great. Friendly people, great amenities. But if more than one parking spot (for a 1 Bed) is important to you, then you should look elsewhere. Sadly, I learned that too late. read more

I have been a resident of The Brand for slightly less than 2 years. In that time, and especially now with COVID-19, the team has done an exceptional job of keeping the premises clean and sanitary. At any given time, you can find a custodial person cleaning in and outside the building. The maintenance team is also quick to respond to requests. Communication is also kept at a high standard. We are kept aware of community events taking place in our building and any work that's being done. When COVID-19 just began, the team was clear in communicating the steps that were being taken to keep The Brand a clean and safe space for residents. Shout out to the management team, the custodial staff, and maintenance workers who make living here a safe and enjoyable experience! read more

Shayla and Mark are both amazing! My roommates and I have been living at The Brand for about a year and they're both been super helpful in helping us find the perfect apartment from the get-go. Additionally, both of them have been super responsive to any inquiry we've had wether it was in person or via email. After our first year at The Brand we decided to not only extend our lease, but upgrade to a larger unit. Both Shayla and Mark helped make this transition as seamless as possible by giving us multiple unit tours and making sure that everything was apparently clear up-front. read more

We lived here for 18 months and overall, we had a great experience. I'm going to start with some of the pros: -The Maintenace team is really amazing. I had very few small issues, and even with those, Kevin was always very professional, polite, helpful and fast. Definitely the best maintenance I've ever experienced. Things get done well and fast. - the location of this place is really unmatched. You are close to everything you need from a walk distance (groceries, restaurants, cvs, shopping centers etc). - The Office team was also very helpful and responsive. - The halls are always kept clean. They clean the common carpet areas very often. And I so appreciate that. - The appliances are great. Very good quality. - No bugs issue (that is huge). Cons: - Unfortunately I had a stressful situation where our neighbors below complained about noises several times. If you have small kids, you know how difficult, and almost impossible to not have them run sometimes, drop toys and things like that - even if you are intentionally being careful about those things. That created a lot of stress for us, to the point we had to buy flooring mats for most of out living room and kitchen area. That helped somewhat. But if you are interested in living here and have small kids I highly recommend that you get a first floor unit. I wish we had known that before we moved in. Because yes, we hear A LOT of our neighbors upstairs too. I never complained because they weren't doing anything unusual from what I could tell. Anyways, also if you are super sensitive to noises, be aware that you will probably hear steps and things like that. - Many tenants don't clean after their dogs and they don't even respect the signs 'no pets allowed' areas. Just extremely rude. Like, someone else will have to clean that for you. I think The Brand should fine those people. It would be more pleasant to be sitting out in the common areas without having to have a pile of poop staring at you. ;) I'm going to stop here... hope this was helpful to someone that is interested in renting a unit here. :) read more

I've lived at The Brand for ~3 years now. There are a plethora of reasons to love living here. The building is well maintained and constantly being looked after. The apartments are modern, yet functional and spacious (the ones I've seen and the one I live in). The gym, rooftop areas, grilling areas, pool, conference rooms, and communal areas are all really nice, clean, and well looked after. The real stars of The Brand, the best reason to live here, are the employees. Shelly, the previous property manager, was amazing. Matt C, the new property manager, is amazing. Mark, the senior sales associate, is one of the kindest and most competent people I've ever interacted with. And Jorge...Jorge the maintenance manager...I have no words. In the event that your apartment does actually need maintenance, Jorge's personality, kindness, attention to detail, and professionalism can turn an inconvenience or issue into a pleasant experience. My girlfriend and I have been living here for over a year and we love it. The amenities are great and the facility is always kept clean. I've lived in another apartment complex in Glendale with a similar price, and the two don't even compare in terms of up-keep and offerings. This review is specifically for the maintenance guy Jorge. I don't live here but I'm always visiting a friend in this building and have built relationships with the maintenance team who are the nicest and hard working people I see in this building when I come visit. On several occasions I've noticed that Jorge who I believe is the maintenance manager speaks to his team as if they were kids that are misbehaving & puts them down in such a demeaning way. I speak Spanish so I understand EVERYTHING that he's been saying to his team whenever I'm around. Jorge needs to learn how to people manage and style flex with his team since he doesn't know how to speak to his team in a proper way. I don't know who his boss is but Jorge needs to be talked to or get let go for the way he's treating others. This is no way to be acting when his team is always working and greeting everyone in the building witch you don't see too often in other places. I hope management gets to read this to get things addressed with him. read more

As articulated in her review, we were overcharged for cleaning on move-out, against what was stated in our contract. We went so far as to scrub and mop the floors, wipe down the windows and floor boards, and deep clean the mineral deposits on the shower head. I have supplied additional photos of the apartment prior to turning it over for you to come to your own conclusions. My advice would be to not break your back cleaning your apartment as we had as you will be charged the same amount regardless. It was not worth the hours of effort we put into it and the money we spent on additional cleaning materials. read more
