After being seated, it seemed the waitstaff forgot about us. We went to the bar and politely brought it to their attention. What impressed me most was how the situation was handled. The staff took full accountability, apologized, and even brought us complimentary garlic knots. That's how you run a business. Since it was our first visit, our waiter took the time to recommend some of the restaurant's favorites. The manager also stopped by our table to check on our experience. When we told her how kind and attentive our waiter had been, she surprised us with a complimentary Parry's beer cup and bottle opener. The food was fresh, delicious, and exceeded our expectations. The garlic knots were incredibly soft, buttery, and packed with garlic flavor. The atmosphere was perfect for watching the game, and the customer service turned what could have been a negative first impression into a memorable experience. We'll definitely be back!

I had the Bolognese and my wife had the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. First off the Bolognese was one of the best I've ever had and I grew up with old Italians who prided themselves in their sauce. Reminded me of home. My wife's sandwich was so big she had to cut it in half. She said it was really good and that they could just serve it without the bun and it would be a hit. Ended up taking half of it home which I finished later in the evening and I have to agree. It was a really good chicken sandwich. And I can't forget the fries. They were great too. Congrats to the chefs on a job well done.

I was greeted when I entered and seated quickly with no long wait. My server Michael was pleasant and knowledgeable and I loved that he pointed me toward his favorites on the menu. I went with a half Uncle Sam and half Five Borough pizza. The dough was wonderfully soft but unfortunately a little too thin to hold all the ingredients together so things got a little messy once I picked it up! The marinara sauce was decent but did not leave a lasting impression. I also tried the Parmesan bites since they are listed as a popular appetizer and I had high hopes! I was imagining buttery fluffy clouds of Parmesan goodness. They were soft which was a plus, but the Parmesan flavor was barely there. A generous drizzle of garlic butter and a heavier hand with the Parmesan would take these to the next level. A good dipping sauce option beyond the marinara would not hurt either! They were running a $5 margarita special which I could not pass up! It was a solid frozen margarita for the price, though my glass was not quite filled to the top and let's just say it was not strong enough to give me even the slightest buzz. Overall a decent spot with good potential! The vibe is great and the service was solid. I would go back and next time I am definitely trying the wings!

Food - 4.5/5 Service - 4/5…read moreAmbiance - 3.5/5 I had only heard mixed reviews regarding this place going in, so I figured my experience was going to be the same, but it was an overall very positive one. The ambiance was nice as we walked in, and after being quickly seated next to a window, the atmosphere was nice. They did end up covering the window before we started eating, and the little bulb way above us and candle did not really provide light enough for us to eat (I get it is mood lighting, but I like seeing what I eat). The food was really solid, though. A few times I've been in the past it was all too salty, but this time around it was much better. I got the Farm Bird, and it was very juicy and had a very nice crunch. The Fish and Chips were nice and flaky, while the Pork Chop was extremely juicy and rich. The shrimp in the rigatoni was definitely oversalted, as well as the broccolini greens in the pork chop dish. The appetizers we got (Brussels Sprouts and Spinach Artichoke Dip) were both okay, though I prefer garlic bread to the chip for the dip and the sprouts were a little one note. The whiskey cake itself was very good, though I recommend only one plate for a group of 6 or less because of how rich it is, especially if you get the ice cream addition. Overall a very surprising experience, and while it carries a heavy price tag, it is absolutely a good choice if you're looking for a nicer meal out here.

Had a great experience at Whiskey Cake in Stafford yesterday. My family treated me a fantastic…read morebrunch for Father's Day weekend. My wife and I have been to WC several times before for lunch, happy hour, and dinner but this was our first time for brunch. We had 1pm reservations and the sky looked like it was going to pour down ran any moment. Our hostess was very kind and let us pick the table we wished to sit in order to get a good view of the bar and windows to keep an eye on the weather and the arrival of our family members. Our server, Dane, was in top form and gave us suggestions for a starter. We were torn between the Jalapeno-gouda biscuits, Candied Bacon and other tasty sounding dishes and quickly agreed the Goat Cheese Fondue. The dish arrived shortly after our whole party was seated. Dane had great presentation as he drizzled olive oil over the steamy, bubbling cheese dish that looked amazing, smelled wonderful, and tasted even better. Melted goat goat cheese with a blend of olives, roasted tomatoes, garlic confit and thyme that we generously spread over warm toast points. It was all devoured in no time. Dane returned to clear our plates and took our order. The brunch menu is an exploration in so many things to suit your breakfast or lunch craving. We ordered the Strawberry Short Stack, the Hangover Burger, Brunch Sandwich, and the Steak and Egg Hash. Out of curiosity we also ordered a side of the Green Chile Cheese Grits. My wife and I love to share so the Strawberry Short Stack and Brunch Sandwich were perfect for dividing. Those pancakes are picture perfect, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweet. Interestingly, Dane had asked if we wanted the toppings of strawberry compote, vanilla anglaise, whipped strawberry butter, and lemon shortbread crumble on the side so we could control the sweetness. For us that was the perfect suggestion as we were able to individually taste each accoutrement to build our perfect bite. The Brunch Sandwich was fantastic. Sometimes a breakfast sandwich can appear to be unwieldy but in this case it was manageable to cut in half and handle appropriately, The everything bagel was the right vehicle for this savory bite of fried-medium egg, layered with applewood smoked bacon, pickled Fresno peppers (for nice pop of spice), greens, american cheese, and a garlic-basil aioli. I didn't taste the Hangover Burger nor the Steak and Egg Hash, perhaps because I was a bit gorged on the pancakes and sandwich but the dishes looked amazing and I have a mental shortlist for the next time we dine at WC. Oh, and I did mention that we were curious about the Green Chile Cheese Grits. Out of this world! Those grits stole the show. We all kept commenting on them. Get them. You will be rewarded. When we dine we always expect good food. For us, service is the reason to come back. Dane was an outstanding server. He had personality and hospitality which is rare these days. He was conversationally engaging. He never lingered too long, always seemed to anticipate what we might need, politely asking to clear plates. Hat's off to Dane. Thank you Whiskey Cake for delivering a great dining experience to kick-off Father's Day weekend. We will be back.
