Been here twice and it just is odd. The staff seems to have tables of regulars that they sit with while others don't get the time of day. It almost feels like they are being tipped to sit and spend time with these men (they are always men). Is this a thing now? You go eat and pay a woman to hang out with you? The food was not to our liking, it was too salty, was over price for what you get. The sliders was a hamburger patty cut in half and put onto slider buns and the burger seemed to be a frozen burger patty. brunch menu looked good but the food we ordered was not and the waitress got the order wrong when we asked for Sunnyside up we got scrambled. when they came to ask if we needed any to go boxes because we had so much food left on the table. we said no because the food did not taste good. The waitress was friendly and the food was great! I almost to get a picture of my sandwich! It was so good. The bacon jam was delicious. My mom was with me and she tried the fish & chips. The fish wasn't cooked in the traditional beer batter fashion. It was more like fried chicken batter, but it worked! I would definitely order that next time. Both orders came with crinkle cut fries. I would have liked the fish to have come with circle cut fries just for the chip vibe, but oh well. The coleslaw that came with the fish reminded me of KFC's. To me this isn't a bad thing. Wow, when I first came here about a year ago I got good service. Some of my photos from last time are on here, because I gave them high remarks, however I came back tonight, and I stood there for about five minutes, while servers simply walked by me. So I decided to go sit down, thinking a server will definitely come up to me now. A young female server with dark brown hair looked right at me and just walked past me, to go back to her patrons drinking at their tables. Then another young female server with blonde hair in a ponytail walked right past me and goes to a table full of girls talking, then she continues talking with them for about 10 minutes, while I'm trying to patiently wait so I can place an order to go and bring food to my family at home. Unfortunately, no one ever came up to me, so I stood up and slowly walked towards the exit. I ended up going to the Pho station Vietnamese cuisine restaurant in the same strip, and was immediately served and given my military discount. I paid and received my order within 10 minutes at Pho. I want to like this place but I'm not sure. I've been 3 times because Wylie is limited in places to drink beer, but I have a kid, and this was definitely not the place to take him. They didn't have a high chair at all, which I was surprised about. I know it's a bar, but they have food too. We were there on a weekend afternoon. The food good, nothing amazing but definitely not bad. The service was interesting, there was obviously a crowd of regulars and they were getting the majority of the attention, but I'm from a college town and I'll join in a random conversation at a slow bar if it gets better service. The second time we sat outside on the patio and we had to go inside any time we wanted anything. It's not a bad place, it's just not a place that I can frequent. We had a good experience. Visited after the Cowboys game, for dinner. Emerson was our waitress. It's open seating. There's an inside area and outside patio area. Now that it's cooler, we chose to sit outside. Our kids played corn hole. There's a middle area that the Tex Mex restaurant and this one share. For food we had the chips with the queso, salsa, and guacamole, fish and chips (didn't like the dipping sauce), burger and fries for one kid, and my husband had the sweet heat BBQ bacon burger. Good reviews from everyone. Right before we left, we saw someone setting up for live music. They're open from 11am-2am daily. ONLY thing I did see was that the tables needed to be cleaned better. I will start off by saying I will never be back. I called prior to see if dogs were allowed on the patio.. I was told "yes but they must be on a leash" - no problem, I wouldn't expect anything less nor would I bring my standard poodle in public without a leash. When we arrived there was a dog on the patio with NO leash and the owner was literally dragging the dog by it's collar to force it to stay by him. My friend and I were sitting in the joining patio shared with Manny's. Perfect Saturday! There was a connect four game. I am 47 and was playing with my friend's children. The manager from Brass Tap informed it was only for 21 and up. I never left them unintended. She then went on a rant about how other children had colored all over some Jenga Pieces. The games should not be left out if they are not fair game. I am a responsible adult and therefore should be treated as such. I wanted to give them another try so the next time I tried something else. Food again terrible and my meal came without the main ingredient on it. Confused I asked the waitress and found they were out of that ingredient. Well, I wouldn't have ordered it if I had known that. Several items for my friends never came out until we asked. I was super bummed. For the missing ingredient aspect I think it's a bad business model to make me pay for my meal in that instance. I paid a lot for something in reality I didn't order. Drinks are okay as far as the cocktail menu goes. The beer selection is sub par compared to the other brass taps in the area. If you are looking for some good brew, I would recommend taking the extra 10 minute drive to the harbor location in rockwall. The staff seems more like locals than employees. When I say that, what I mean is when you are wondering where your server is, you will look around and see the servers talking to their friends that they invite up to the bar. They don't really care about costumer service because the bar staff is a combination of people who don't care, and people who only get hired on so they can serve their friends discounted drinks. Btw if you are a Biden supporter then this is the place for you. Never heard a bar staff be more "politically correct in my life". All they do is sit around and talk about how bad republicans are. In an effort to support local businesses, I immediately realized that Brass Tap WILL NOT RECIEVE any support from my household. It was during my lunch break @ 1:55pm when I walked into this establishment. There was no one at the front door to greet guests. So, I walked to the bar and asked the lady standing behind the bar taking a drag from her vape and asked, " Do I seat myself?" She replied, "Yes....it's open seating." I walked outside to the patio and sat down at a high boy table. As I surveyed the area, there were 2 other tables with guests and one guy seating at the bar, all having half eaten food on their plates and cups partially empty. At 2:01 pm a couple walks in the gated patio and takes a table with sofa seating. I have not been acknowledged by the wait staff...still. The waitress clears a table of one of the guests that just left and takes the couple who walked in at 2:01pm drink order. There was an empty table between me and the "2:01 pm" couple. After placing the couple's drink order into the system (I can see all activity inside the bar from the patio) , the waitress walks to my table (@ 2:11 pm) and says "Do you need anything?" I asked "Is this how guests are greeted here? No....I don't want anything anymore. I have been sitting her for over 10 minutes and watched how you cleared tables behind me, take a break to drink water near the bar, and asked the couple sitting behind me for their drink order. I was here before they were." She replied "I am the only waitress here working and Ididn'tsee you." I replied " Not my problem but you realized the couple behind me were new guests but not me. Disappointed they didn't have booth tables. Only high tables and chairs and a few low tables and chairs. I ordered the Fish and Chips and the fish was good but I didn't not like the peppery coating on it. My husband had the fried shrimp basket and half the shrimp didn't have much coating on it. Was like eating cooked shrimp with no coating on it. I had a few and did not like it. We may give it one more try before we say we won't go back.
