Went to this restaurant for dinner with a couple of coworkers. This place has an impressive beer menu. I had the Community Funnel Cake Ale which had powdered sugar on the rim, this beer tasted just like a funnel cake. For my meal I tried the Asian BBQ Crispy Chicken sandwich which had so much flavor with their sauce, slaw and jalapeños. In stead of the french fries I upgraded to the crispy Brussels sprouts which were very good. I will say the service was very slow and my coworkers meals weren't all served at the same time which was a slight disappointment. We stopped in for lunch on Friday while we were boating. Had I gone to the bathroom before lunch we would have not ordered food! I have seen cleaner porta potties than this. It caused me to take a closer look around and honestly the entire place needs a good cleaning. It make me wonder how clean the kitchen was! The food was okay but not great, nothing special. One of our favorite spots was jam packed busy tonight, so we switched things up and headed over to The Brass Tap just down the way and let me tell you... we were NOT disappointed. Honestly, at first we were a bit disheartened because every drink we tried to order they were out of (probably due to St. Patrick's Day) and although I really wanted to try the gluten friendly beer, I was happy to snag a smoked old fashioned instead... it was absolutely delicious! We ordered the loaded fries with brisket to eat as well as the buffalo cauliflower. Both had me craving more and will be the reason we go back!! The fries had a delicious white queso and brisket on them while the cauliflower was the best part of the entire evening. I'll be thinking about those for a while! They also very clearly have a lot of places to sit and hang with friends, fun things to do like pool or shuffleboard, and a whole slew of events they put on (Tonight was going to be a DJ if we had stayed long enough)! Service was horrible in the beginning, stepped in and a guy greeted us and said it was open seating. We proceeded to go sit on the patio. After sitting here for nearly 20 mins, I was finally able to wave down a server and expressed our frustration in no one tending to us. People that showed up after were tended to before us. She apologized and I proceeded to let her know that we would go ahead and place our full order. Food was blah.. typical bar food. She helped this establishment out getting 2 stars from me. I really hate giving bad reviews, like REALLY hate it, especially when I think people are doing the best they can but I can't in good faith say our experience was ok. I'll just say that this place has a lot of potential and I hope they were having an off day. We don't live in Rockwall and loved the location of this place. It provided a lot for our girls to do after we ate. I also love any restaurant which welcomes dogs! We didn't have ours with us, but she would have loved it. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside. There wasn't a hostess so we were told to sit wherever. The outside had some games so our girls and their friends were able to play Jenga while we waited for food - which was good because it took awhile for our food to arrive. When we first got there the outside was crowded with a few large groups. There was only one server so he was doing the best he could. After being there for about 30 mins another server took over for him and took our drink order. It took awhile for us to get waters, we had to ask a couple of times. My husband and I both ordered bartender creations for drinks which was on a separate menu and something I highly recommend. The food was good overall, but one the people in our party said their fries were cold and after 15 mins and multiple asks we never received them. She did receive a $10 gift card to use towards her meal. She also asked our server for silverware and instead of bringing it for everyone, he only brought it for her so we had to ask someone else to get silverware for the table. We also asked him for something and ended up having to go to the bar to get it. As we were checking out I could hear the table next to us asking someone who was walking by if they could be helped because they had been there for 30 mins and no one had come to their table. I ordered take out- what a mistake- the 'fish' was burnt and the coleslaw was warm- like almost hot (notice color next to tater tots). The chicken wrap was so soggy on the bottom (hard to depict from picture but you see the slime), the insides completely fell out but the unsightly goo was stomach turning. Drinks are not consistent. Service with certain servers is lacking, having to wait long for them to return. Also other customers standing in front of table, completely blocking our view, I mentioned it to server and nothing was done. Long time patron but certainly will not return. Great place to get a drink and enjoy some food if you're staying in the area. The service is very friendly with a large dining room that's nicely decorated. The drink menu is quite extensive and the food is very reasonably priced, especially during happy hour. I was quite surprised with how good the food was here, especially the boom boom shrimp which was fried very nicely and served in a delicious sauce. The pretzel was also nice and crispy on the outside with just the right level of chewiness on the inside, served with delicious mustard and queso dipping sauces. The burger and fries I tried were solid as well, priced very well but didn't have the same level of flavor combinations and texture contrast that I enjoyed with the other two dishes. Waitress in training was great. Requested fries with no salt. Trainer returned my tray to me saying they only put salt on with pepper. Meaning there was no salt on my fries. We had family visiting around the Christmas holiday that were really eager to watch football at a bar (lol). Most places were closed on Christmas Eve, but The Brass Tap was open! It was not busy (only a few tables were seated). Food: OK, 3/5 I did not expect much since this was a bar and the average rating was pretty mediocre. Between my fiancé and I, we shared the "Boom Boom Shrimp" and the Baja Chicken flatbread (Pepper jack & Cotija cheeses, fire roasted red peppers, Poblano sauce, scallions, onion & cilantro). Overall, both the shrimp and the chicken flatbread were okay. Food was not blow my mind amazing, but it wasn't horrible either. They were both great finger foods for watching the game. Rockwall has needed a Craft Beer Friendly Bar concept for year's, especially at the Harbor. There's already great food restaurants, Craft Beers and Craft Cocktails will be a wonderful addition to the laid back Harbor, Lake Vibe. I came for lunch after a Dr. appointment and wanted to try Brass Tap. I chose the 2 Hot Chicken Tacos, Boom Boom Shrimp & Cheese Curds. Everything was filling, but typical bar food and not the best interpretation of what they represented. My Dry Hopped Old Fashioned perfectly cut through the richness of the food. My dessert was the Lakewood Lion's Share VII, bringing my experience to an end. Our visit was great and they had the sliding doors open on a cool rainy opening day. I will definitely be back for the beer and cocktail selections. I had chicken tacos and pretzel bites for the appetizer. They were perfect, but the drinks were the highlight of the visit. I had a Blood Orange Tequila Sour and a Lavender Lemonade.
