Let me tell you we came in to eat on a Sunday afternoon, it was packed because of all the basketball games happening. Abby our server was wonderful she didn't skip a beat, made sure the drinks were refilled and our food was to our likening. The owner was also out, bussing tables, getting drinks and placing orders as again they were slammed. Food was cooked to perfection and so amazing, everything from the pizza, to fish to dessert. This restaurant has completely went down hill. The time before last I was there the owner was doing shots and wasted behind the bar, drunk and being super loud. The last time, today, I ordered Chicken parm and the chicken was a half of a chicken breast. I should have taken a picture. The waitress was inattentive - took almost a half hour to take our order. When I asked about the portion size the waitress said yeah, that is not normal, I'll just give you a discount. I just said forget it I haven't touched it please take it off my bill. Never going back. I always keep my receipts until the charge clears my bank account; I've had problems in the past. My charge just cleared the bank and they decided to add an extra tip. I visited Jackie Ray's for the second time this past week, and it was pretty good. My friend lives in South Bloomfield, and there aren't many decent restaurants in the immediate area, so this has become our default when at his place. Jackie Rays is easy to find and has lots of parking. The inside is cozy, if not a bit dark and claustrophobic. They also have a patio area out back that's is decent too. As for the food, I had an Italian sub the last time, and it was well executed with the right amount of meats and toppings, and toasty from the oven. This time I had the pulled pork mac-n-cheese. This is kind of a stress test for a restaurant, because most places like this resort to microwaving everything. Not the case here. The mac was actually penne, the sauce was pretty good and probably made to order in the pan, and the pork was hot and moist without tasting old or reheated. The bar is great, with a beer selection to match, and our waitress was a sweetheart. Everyone in the place, employees and customers, were very friendly. A nice local joint. read more

When we arrived in the restaurant there were only two other couples there. I ordered a drink and when the waitress brought my drink; she did not take our orders. So we sat there while she waited on a table of 4 who came in after us. I figured someone would come and take our order, but no one came. Then when I saw the table of 4 get their food before us that was the last straw! I told my husband, "let's go." I think they are understaffed and they are very slow. We will not be going back. Food tasted horrible and was very overpriced. I Got chicken Mac and cheese and it came out with no chicken. I waited 30 extra mins for chicken and my Mac and cheese was cold by the time I got it. Chicken was extremely dry and food was super bland. The manger yelled at me because my server asked if I liked it because I hadn't ate any and I told her not really. First time in & not the last. The atmosphere gives such a warm and open feeling from the spacious bar to high and low tables. Wide variety of entertainment with the multiple tvs behind the bar. Their menu was overloaded with so many options on different styles of food and assortment of beverages. Prices may seem high to some but for the quality in the service, it's well worth it! I'd been wanting to try this place for quite a while, and I really wanted to love it. The restaurant decor and atmosphere are great, and the food was decent, so one star each for those, but minus three for the BLATANT disregard for the mask mandate. None of the employees wore masks, and the full bar had no social distancing. Our waitress told us we could take our masks off as she walked us to our booth, which made it clear that the business was thumbing its nose at coronavirus prevention measures. I really love this place in general, but since Logan left, and an older woman is working the bar, I've not been impressed. Tonight I ordered the eggplant from the appetizer menu, as I am not a big eater. I even mentioned that I wanted it as the appetizer, and for it to come out with my husband's meal. New ownership: I believe they are destroying what was a great restaurant. I have been there 4 times since the new owners. They are loud and obnoxious. They have destroyed a great menu! They are poorly under staffed. The wait time from being seated to taking your order is about 30 minutes. The food is now over priced for the quality has changed. Example my friend ordered a grilled salmon salad. It looked like bagged salad. Not high end quality. She said the salmon was good and was charged nearly $20.00 There you go! 3 of the 4 times I have been there the not funny at all owner brought a dish stating " and you ordered liver and onions " No one laughed. They don't offer liver and onions on the menu. They are pretending now that they expect you to make reservations. Food and drink is overpriced. If you are in their click they are all buddy buddy with you if no they could care less after leaving.
