My friend got the fish and chips and they were excellent. I ordered a cheesesteak sandwich. It was totally smothered and covered with cheap processed cheese. It ruined the sandwich. I should've sent it back, but instead, I tried to scrape off the cheese, but it was totally ruined and soggy with bad tasting artificial cheese goo. Note to chef : less is more! I eat cheese steak sandwiches all the time and they have just a little bit of cheese that compliments the flavor, not destroys! Service was fast and prices were good. Have ate at Brew Brothers a number of times. More often than not the food is good, the steaks are well cooked, but the service always lacks in one form or another. Tonight, the service was fine but the food was not. We ordered a ribeye medium rare, came out and had no color, was tough, and had excessive amounts of gristle attached. The Philly Cheesesteak was super salty and the onion rings cold. For the price of the meal, absolutely not worth it at all. Seriously you are better going to any pub or one of local steakhouses. read more

I went to Brew Brothers to get a craft beer along with some chips and guacamole, which was all very good. Their menu looked amazing and very tasty with their descriptions of their food/meals. I was told by my bartender that the Burnt Ends appetizer was the most popular. The bar/restaurant was located inside Isle Casino. I was happy to find that they had a good selection of craft beer on tap. My bartender was new but really nice and funny and any question she didn't know the answer to, she would go and ask. She had a very cool character for a bartender. Brew Brothers also had some really cool decor up around their bar/restaurant. I liked all of the TVs everywhere...a little excessive but fun. First and last time eating here. Usually, when something goes wrong, you expect a certain level of treatment from the staff/management, a "what can we do to make it right" attitude. Well, that didn't happen here. I ordered the Philly (a must try as their menu suggested). It MIGHT HAVE BEEN OK tasting had it not be dunked, smothered, and drowned in cheese prior to adding more cheese. Yes, I can not even come close to describing just how much cheese was on the sandwich. Soooooo bad. The reason I say it might have been good is because, luckily, and I am not sure how, there was one marble size of meat that had not been covered in cheese, and that tasted great. Unfortunately, because of the tsunami of cheese, I had to stop at just four fork-fulls. You use a fork to eat your Philly? NO, I don't, but with this one you had to. There is no way to eat this Philly as an actual sandwich, none whatsoever. Using your hands to eat this Philly would be akin to grabbing handfuls of melted Velveeta and slopping it into your mouth. The cheese was so overwhelming that the bread just felt like an extension of the cheese and the meat, onions, and peppers didn't have a fighting chance. Should have been called the Lumpy Lambo because all you tasted was cheese and only felt the other ingredients in your mouth. Anyway, I digress, back to the people. They saw my limited consumption of food and did the obligatory "how's the food?" as they pass by. I said 'Not good. There is WAY too much cheese. I can't taste anything else." Their response, "I'm sorry, would you like another beer?" Me, "no." Her, "Let me get you the bill." WHA? There was no, "oh I'm sorry, let's make you a new one with less cheese because I see you haven't touched this one." No, "oh I am so sorry, would there be anything else you would prefer to try?" No, "oh, I'm sorry, let me get my manager and see what he/she may be willing to do." Nope. Nothing. Just a good ole too bad, soo sad, pay up. Will I eat here again? Well, usually I will give places a second chance even when I've had a bad meal only because one bad meal is not indicative of an entire menu. But when service is lacking, no, it wasn't lacking, they were friendly and I did not have to wait for anything. But when service is indifferent toward patrons, I don't care if you are rated 5 stars from Michelin, I am not coming back. read more

Mary is the worst server ever!! Called in to To-Go order at 10:49pm (website says they are open until 11:00pm) and they tell me it will be ready in 10 minutes...but when I arrived 10 minutes later to pick it up Mary says they couldn't make it. Four of us made a pit stop here for lunch on our vacation trip, and we had a great experience. The food was great! We ordered a couple of different appetizers and all had different entrees, which we were all very happy with. Our waitress (Syntesha) was incredibly sweet, friendly, and did a great job for us. I am a little late leaving a review, I was here 8/29 and 8/30/22. I ordered the same thing both nights because it was so incredibly delicious. I had the taco salad with chicken and subbed salsa for the cilantro ranch. I have never had a more tasty taco salad. The service was great. The person I dined with got the chicken fried steak both nights for the same reason as me - it was just that good! Price was great for being located inside a casino, as well. TERRIBLEEEEEEE Chile, I order a medium well done sirloin, they bring me a steak sitting in a pool of blood then it comes back cooked well done...... with the same mashed potatoes and broccoli that's also sitting in the same pool of blood of my previous under cooked steak and to top it off there was a red hair in my potatoes. Be careful if using gift cards here - we had a $50 one and server came back and told us there was only 50 cents left on it and offered to "just keep and throw away for us". We took the card back, paid our bill, and the next time there was "miraculously" $50 on it when used. We tried to tell somebody what had happened before and was told it had to be "our mistake". This happened to friends we knew the week before (sounded like same young food server). They couldn't remember if they had used the card before or not so took her words for it and let her keep the card - same thing, $50 card and told 50 cents. They are now figuring she not only got a $50 gift card but a nice tip they left for her. Figured since we were going to the Casino we would give Brew Brothers a try (located inside the casino). I had the Prime Rib French Dip without the onions. After waiting for a good half hour which seemed kind of long for a burger and French dip it finally came out and the food looked great aside from the onions on the French dip. They did get it fixed right away and I had the sandwich back in less the 10 minutes. Again it looked delicious, the French roll was toasted perfectly the cheese was melted. Aside from all of that the actual prime rib was lacking flavor, did not taste much seasoning at all. We also had the American Classic cheese burger, from the looks of it, it seemed like it was going to be a great burger but it was very dry and the meat tasted like it was frozen. Completely average food but that's not always a bad thing. The food was not spectacular but at least it wasn't disappointing. The roasted Brussels with bacon and Philly cheesesteak were ok. We also ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, the spaghetti and garlic bread were tasty, the meatball was very dry and truly the only thing we didn't like. Prices are very reasonable on food and drinks. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but if your staying or playing late into the evening when most things in Waterloo are closed, it's completely palatable. Pizza came very shortly after order and was perfectly cooked. Ordered the Longer Island Iced Tea. Fair warning, it comes in a large Yard Cup (google it-similar to the cups you get at amusement parks). Luckily they couldn't find a long enough straw so they simply brought me the pitcher and and a glass. Otherwise it would have drawn a lot of attention. Got at least two 16oz drinks out of this one. I have eaten here quite a few times. I visit this casino every couple of months and eat here most of the time. Considering this is a casino in Iowa, I gotta say, it surpasses most casino restaurants of the same grade. I highly recommend the burnt ends, but there are so many other great items. The buffalo wings are excellent. The French dip is superb. The fish and chips is excellent. The Philly is excellent too, although be warned they use cheese sauce instead of provolone. I'm more of a provolone guy, but it's a known debate in philly that cheese wiz is the standard, so props for authenticity. Overall, it's consistently good and far above par for a casino pub. I wish the casino had room service so I wouldn't have to deal with mediocre service. Also, as I left the restaurant no one spoke to me. You know the saying never go to a new restaurant for the first few months... very true about this place. The first two beers I ordered that were on their menu they didn't have then we waited 45 minutes for our meal which mine was wrong. I sent it back they said 5 minutes, another 35 minutes later still no meal. By this time my husband was done with his but still had never received the beer he ordered a half hour ago. The menu looks ok if you like burgers I just can't say if the food was good since I never got mine. It has taken me 3 weeks to get around to writing this but OMG Brew Brothers is awful!! My boyfriend and I went to the Isle thinking to do a buffet just to find out nope....not open except Thur-Sun. Okay...went to Brew Brothers Ordered 2 steak dinners after waiting FOREVER to get our waitress. The steak was charred and not med rare....the brussel sprouts had a freezer burnt taste to them the mashed potatoes did not even have butter (nor were we given any) they were gross, how do you screw up mashed potatoes. Asked for ketchup (Tim's fries) and steak sauce. Never saw our server or had one drift close enough to get their attention, we ended up taking it off another table that shared theirs with us. MULTIPLE tables got up and left. A table of 5 that was right next to us got up saying "Never Again". Our meal was over $60 and it was HORRID! I do not know what the Isle was thinking....the prices are HIGH. Hamburgers $12-$14 and Lone Wolfs were MUCH cheaper and frankly better tasting. I do not mind trying my luck at the casino....it is a game and some times you win sometimes you lose. But when it comes to paying for something I bought I EXPECT it to be decent and I expect it to be reasonably priced for what you get. This was a bad marketing decision....if you want butts in the chairs in the casino you dont want them leaving because they are hungry. Older people are not going to pay that for food and the younger set is going to expect a better food experience. I will not be going back to Brew Brothers. read more
