Lemon Cupcake (soooo good), Taro Banana Bread (ono), Lemon Bar Match (nilla wafers on top) and Cinnamon Crunch Cold Brew

Ok. This place can be hard to find if you are using maps. BUT, it is INSIDE the VA clinic in Kapolei, next to Costco. You gotta go in the main entrance, dont worry if you not military affiliated, and go left and walk all the way down the hall and its just before behavior health services. I have been wanting to try this place for a while. They are open when the clinic is open. So M-F till 3 pm and not on fed holidays. We ended up going two days in a row. They have a variety of drinks, and snacks (some from local vendors). The scones and lemon cupcakes are bomb. They also serve lunch though I have yet to try bc I work in PC. They do shut down their oven a little earlier than closing and wont be able to warm up your baked goods but that didnt affect us bc who really cares. I am a black coffee girl but decided it was a waste of money when my hubs and I go on coffee dates to just get black coffee. I had been seeing their Lemon Bar Matcha online and it met the mark. So worth the buzz. My hubs got Cinnamon Crunch Cold Brew. It was good too. On our second visit my husband got the Chocolate Coconut Cold Brew (bc I suggested it bc I really wanted it) and it was way better than what I ended up ordering (what was it... Mango Matcha). Staff is hit or miss but that seems to be true where ever you go so whatevs. I will still return to get more.

Grande size hot caramel macchiato made with local coffee beans for $5 and some change.

Drink cost & quality: got a hot caramel macchiato--strong coffee and not too sweet. (For reference, I find McDonalds latte type drinks are WAY too sweet, and a Starbucks white mocha too sweet.) $5.xx for what looks like a grande size. That's a steal, especially considering what I pay for one drink at 'bucks, and they use their own locally grown coffee beans. I'll be back. Parking: Free parking in a large open air lot. Location: Across the railroad tracks (Kalaeloa side, not Campbell Industrial side) behind Costco Kapolei and the courthouse, at the VA Center. Getting to the cafe: Adding pics if going to new places makes you nervous, like me. Enter through the automatic doors under the big "VA" sign by the roundabout and hit the hallway that heads left. Once you're inside, you should see A-frame Cafe signage so you know you're heading in the right direction. There are attendants by the entrance if you need to ask where to go. And NO, you do not need a military ID to get in. Seating: the cafe itself doesn't have seating but it looks like there is some outdoor space with tables and chairs, if you aren't already there for an appointment at the clinic.

This cozy little cafe is just what I needed. Their hidden away (I'm sure not for long) in the Daniel Akaka Veterans center in Kapolei across of Costco. Let me just tell you, once you smell the coffee coming down the hallway, you just know it's going to be amazing. The business is both locally and veteran owned and the couple is amazing! They are so welcoming and their staff is there to answer any questions you may have. I tried their orignal affogato (my first time) and then the Hawaiian Mud Pie (feat. Dave's ice cream) the second time. We also tried their pork Adobo bowl which was a nice portion, the meat soft and moist and the rice at the perfect ratio to the serving of Adobe. My favorite though, the clam chowder! With a side dinner roll! You can't go wrong! Something with every bite, not too watery or too chunky. It was so ono and I can't wait to go back again!

It's a nice mom and pop feel with a pane of pexi-glass between tables. It feels like private tables. I had a cup of coffee served in a nice ceramic cup labeled with their name on it. I had a bowl of loco moco which was very good. The gravy was well seasoned and it went well with the white rice. The hamburger itself was flavorful and heavy, just the way I like it. I was here years ago and finally got a chance to drop in. I will be back soon to try other items.

When coming in the doors I was a little turned off by the looks of the place. It seemed a tad run down with everything not spotless, and deliveries piled up in the corner (not food). However, the food smelled amazing and the menu art quality on the walls was amazing. We stayed for the EPIC reviews it had gotten which is what drew us in. The food is incredible! Every dish was cooked to perfection and the flavors were on point. From savory to sweet they have it down. The fried rice moco loco was ENORMOUS and all of the meats were perfectly cooked - not a single dry piece throughout. The mushroom sauce was insane and the fresh mushrooms were amazing. The pancake flight looked delicious and my husband's pig hash was to die for. We all left full and happy but thirsty - water is tap and room temp. Outside of the negatives on looks - this place really is delicious so give it a chance.

When you walk in you will be greeted by the cashiers. Menu is on a screen. You order first, pay, and the cashier will give you table number if you are dine-in. Kinda reminds me of Carl's Jr or Conner Bakery. I order a small Ice Coffee coffee of the day was Kona and a Tomato Jam Sammie. The sandwich came pretty quickly, the briche was toasted, overeasy egg, cheese topped with arugula and tomato jam which had a BBQ flavor. Their prices are reasonable for a cafe style and the food are made fresh. So it's a good experience if you are in Kapolei area. This is a good size cafe with options to sit indoors or outdoors. I sat at the outdoor bar area because there's 3 TVs up. Perfect for me to watch the World Cup Spain vs Belgium. I definitely would come back to try out their lunch menu.
