Traveling overnight, my wife pointed us toward Sturges Speakeasy after seeing the great reviews,…read moreand she absolutely nailed it. This place was fantastic, the kind of spot you're genuinely glad you stumbled into. The atmosphere had that perfect mix of cool and comfortable. I grabbed a beer, Stacy's Mom, and I'd order it again without thinking twice. My wife went for the Self‑Loathing Burger, which lived up to the hype. My daughter ordered the Mother‑Clucker (pictured), and after she gave me a bite, I immediately regretted not getting my own. I ended up with the Pittsburgher (also pictured), and it was outstanding, one of those sandwiches you keep thinking about afterward. Between the vibe and the food, it honestly felt like a little slice of heaven. Highly recommend stopping in for dinner.

The ambience didn't seem much like a speakeasy. It was more like a regular bar/restaurant. For lunch, I requested fish tacos and sweet potato fries. As an appetizer, we shared some nachos, which had a very tasty cheese sauce on them. A while later, the food was delivered. Everyone enjoyed their meals. My fish tacos each had a large piece of fish in them. The fish was seasoned and cooked perfectly, was flaky, and delicious. My sweet potato fries were a little overcooked, but still pretty good. Highly recommend that dish. My daughter's soup of the day (chicken & rice) missed the mark. But her club sandwich was the size of her head! If we're in Harrisburg, we'll visit again. Great meal!

We knew we were in the right place when we entered and there was a friendly group of peeps from all walks of life from Firemen to a few office working stiffs. The FOOD: Excellent burgers made and delivered good and -hot- made to order. they nailed it. The BEER: Great variety with some hometown flavors. There's something for (nearly) everyone The STAFF: Cool bartender and Wait staff. gratuity was made for that kind of friendly service. We were in town for a brief time but that's one place we would happily return to. Great experience overall.

The reason I haven't been going for the past three years is that the last time we ordered a Reuben, it was the most disgusting sandwich I'd ever received. The meat tasted terrible, and the color was "off." The time before that the Blarney bread was undercooked and had so much mayonnaise on it that it was inedible. Two weeks ago, it was undercooked and cold in the middle. The more well-done pieces I was able to eat, but the little pieces I could not. The following week, we decided to try the newly opened section on the corner inside the old Arooga's. Two bartenders working, the bar was not that busy but one of the bartenders closest to us didn't even acknowledge or let us know that she'd be right with us. It took the other very attentive and excellent bartender at the other end of the bar to notice my eyes looking around for some help when she came over to take care of us. She was great! The petite blonde was absolutely the worst and I wish I knew her name so I could call her out in this review. I used to love this place and my previous review is five stars. It's definitely not the same as it was before so I'm not sure we will be visiting this establishment again.

The first time we went in July of 2025, the hours were posted wrong online & so we showed up a few hrs early before their actually open time . A bartender arrived to set up the bar & was so friendly & accommodating to us. She offered to get us a canned drink while she was setting up so at least we had something to drink while waiting. Once she opened, she made us great mint mojitos! My friend & I returned this past July of 2026 & our amazing bartender Kelly was still there & remembered us! She even hooked me up with a complimentary jelly shot for my birthday. There was also a very nice male bartender there but I did not get his name. They had added a lot more seating like Adirondack chairs, couches and fire pits outside. They had a food truck there also which was a nice addition so when our other friend arrived the 3 of us nibbled on chicken potstickers, fries, a hotdog with chili and jalapeño poppers. Despite it being a hot day, they had a huge fan at the bar that makes it more comfortable, a mister in the bar area and you get a great natural breeze off the river anywhere else you're sitting besides the bar so this helped immensely. They had live music on the little stage by the couches so this was the icing on the cake! Luke Miller was great and unfortunately we had to leave before the 2nd guy performed. The view is awesome and the seating setup really lets you relax and soak it all in, definitely a great warm-weather hangout spot. The bartender was smooth, quick, and knew exactly what he was doing, which always elevates the experience. Big bonus: they had seltzers on draft, which was a nice surprise and perfect for a day like today.
