Had been eager to try this place out and finally made our way down. The place was cozy and a little intimate depending on who you're with. We were sat upstairs which seemed like a multi purpose space. The lighting was super dim, so much so that I had to have my phone flash to see the menu (and I'm not that old) but we didn't mind the lighting. The music was perfect, Tevin Campbell, Keith sweat, Micheal Jackson, the goood 80s/90s r&b. Charlotte was our server and she was great. Gave great recommendations and was friendly and communicated expectations through our service. The buffalo chicken dip was amazing!! The dip itself anyway. When given the option between chips and bread, I didn't think the bread was going to be regular ol wonder bread. I think next time, I'd opt for the chips. But the dip had plenty of protein, was a really good portion. Even had some leftover to take home after we both smacked on it. We had some cocktails that were great. I don't remember the names but we had 4 different signature drinks from the menu and all were delicious and could actually taste the alcohol. Dinner was good. I think the kitchen ran out of greens so I had a sooonful of whatever was left and the cabbage instead. The tartar sauce and bang bang sauce were really good and tasted homemade. I got some extra to go. Can't wait to go back and try something else.

I love this idea and MITK has been on my list to try for a while.. The staff was very pleasant. I enjoyed the all black ambiance, must be hard to keep as clean as it was. We ordered a grilled steak sandwich, Mac and cheese and was given a simple of the corn bread. The corn bread was amazing, more like corn cake - so good. The Mac and cheese was very good and definitely a reorder next time we visit. The sandwich was honestly why I am not giving the full 5 stars, my husband was less than impressed- finding mostly fatty bits he picked out from his steak. I was more content with the sandwich then my husband but it wasn't was impressive as I hoped. I definitely would come here again and give them a second go.

My boyfriend and I went around noon on a week day so, it was pretty empty. But that didn't bother us. We were blown away by the food. They served us a piece of complimentary corn bread that was probably some of the best cornbread I've ever had. I got their wings (which weren't typical pizza place type wings- they were the full size, large wings and so so much tastier), Mac and cheese, and the Cajun corn on the cob. Wow! Everything was delicious! I was hesitant to try the corn because the menu says it's deep fried and I don't know what to expect, but it was excellent! Messy- but so so worth it. The Mac and cheese is homemade and soooo cheesy. Yum. I will be back!

My companion and I stopped in for an early dinner on a slushy Saturday evening. Men In The Kitchen, located in the former Firehouse restaurant, has kept the best features of that space while adding new touches and a different color palette--lots of black and grey. Service at the bar was fast and friendly. My companion ordered lobster bites with sides of mac-n-cheese and steamed cabbage; I had the cajun pasta with chicken. Both meals were excellent, with just the right amount of cajun seasoning. The only misstep was that my meal arrived about 10 minutes after hers. There is a full bar. Beer and wine selections aren't extensive but are solid. Definitely recommend checking out Men In The Kitchen!

We recently hosted a family reunion at our home with 100+ guests traveling from across the U.S. To make the occasion special, we partnered with Men in the Kitchen, led by Owner/Chef Justin Coleman. Flavor The evening began with a beautifully plated Caesar Salad Royale, followed by a choice of Crispy Fried Catfish au Citron or Grilled Steak au Poivre with creamy garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus spears au gratin. Our vegetarian guests enjoyed a rich and flavorful Fettuccine Alfredo, while dessert closed with either a warm Butter Cake with fresh strawberries or a decadent chocolate cake with raspberries. Each dish delivered on flavor and balance, with portions that were indulgent yet refined. Style Chef Justin and his team provided seamless service with five wait staff and two bartenders who kept the evening flowing. The plating was polished and consistent with attention to detail including soft, elegant butter rounds for the bread. Timing was impeccable--each course arrived swiftly without compromising presentation or taste. Elegant Touches Beyond the food itself, it was the elegance that stood out: attentive staff who anticipated needs, dishes plated as if for fine dining, and a dessert finale that felt celebratory. The balance of hospitality and sophistication elevated the entire evening from a catered meal to a true dining experience. Whether you need upscale plates service for 100+ or buffet, I'd highly recommend Men in the Kitchen to bring your vision to life and exceed your expectations! I am a very picky client and I will definitely be using them again! Thank you Men in the Kitchen - well done!! ------------------------------------------- "Savoring flavor, style, and elegance--one bite at a time."

First let me start by saying "OMFG" this place is deceiving from the outside, but the inside is clean, fun, and laid back! The Food was AMAZING, I had the lamb chops and hubby had a Chicken Rice Bowl both were perfection! The Margaritas were on point! The bartender Janiah was AMAZING she is a beautiful girl inside and out!! Will definitely be returning when I am laid over at the yard (Trucker)

So good...we went back and took other family members! The service is so good and the food was great! The ambiance was nice with 90's music playing quietly in the backgroundWe plan on going back to try different things. This time around we went with 5 appetizers in addition to our meals. Needless to say, our dinners ended up going home. Check out the pics!

The land and sea with the lobster bisque. Well seasoned and the lamb and crab cake both amazing!

This place was fantastic, the kind of spot you're genuinely glad you stumbled into. The atmosphere had that perfect mix of cool and comfortable. I grabbed a beer, Stacy's Mom, and I'd order it again without thinking twice. My wife went for the Self‑Loathing Burger, which lived up to the hype. My daughter ordered the Mother‑Clucker (pictured), and after she gave me a bite, I immediately regretted not getting my own. I ended up with the Pittsburgher (also pictured), and it was outstanding, one of those sandwiches you keep thinking about afterward. Between the vibe and the food, it honestly felt like a little slice of heaven. Highly recommend stopping in for dinner.

The ambience didn't seem much like a speakeasy. It was more like a regular bar/restaurant. For lunch, I requested fish tacos and sweet potato fries. As an appetizer, we shared some nachos, which had a very tasty cheese sauce on them. A while later, the food was delivered. Everyone enjoyed their meals. My fish tacos each had a large piece of fish in them. The fish was seasoned and cooked perfectly, was flaky, and delicious. My sweet potato fries were a little overcooked, but still pretty good. Highly recommend that dish. My daughter's soup of the day (chicken & rice) missed the mark. But her club sandwich was the size of her head! If we're in Harrisburg, we'll visit again. Great meal!

The reason I haven't been going for the past three years is that the last time we ordered a Reuben, it was the most disgusting sandwich I'd ever received. The meat tasted terrible, and the color was "off." The time before that the Blarney bread was undercooked and had so much mayonnaise on it that it was inedible. Two weeks ago, it was undercooked and cold in the middle. The more well-done pieces I was able to eat, but the little pieces I could not. The following week, we decided to try the newly opened section on the corner inside the old Arooga's. Two bartenders working, the bar was not that busy but one of the bartenders closest to us didn't even acknowledge or let us know that she'd be right with us. It took the other very attentive and excellent bartender at the other end of the bar to notice my eyes looking around for some help when she came over to take care of us. She was great! The petite blonde was absolutely the worst and I wish I knew her name so I could call her out in this review. I used to love this place and my previous review is five stars. It's definitely not the same as it was before so I'm not sure we will be visiting this establishment again.

High Dive is an interesting mashup. From the name and the first impression inside, it reads as a…read moredark, slightly dingy dive bar, and it fully delivers that vibe. Then you open the menu and realize there is a surprisingly large Hawaiian themed food selection. It is not really a restaurant, though. It feels like a bar first, with a better than expected food program, not the other way around. The bar service was excellent. I ordered a Sazerac, and they served it with the absinthe on the side so you can add it to taste. That is a small detail, but it shows care and attention, and it made for a great drink. Service overall was friendly and prompt. Even though it is clearly a bar, it is also calm enough during certain hours that you could do some work or have a low key meeting. I would not try that during peak drinking hours. I am not sure of the exact hours, but it seems like more of a late day or evening spot than a lunch stop. If you are in the area and want a solid cocktail and a snack, High Dive is an easy pick.

The moment I realized there was nowhere to park in Harrisburg's awesome Midtown area, I knew I was in for a good time. That kind of energy usually means a place is worth the stop. From the old‑school neon sign outside to the throwback décor inside, the whole place felt like a blast from the past, almost like a little slice of Brooklyn tucked into Harrisburg. The crowd was lively but not overwhelming, with plenty of seating and someone ready to greet you right away. I was told that during the week there's usually no wait at all, which is a huge bonus. I asked the bartender to surprise me with a drink, and he delivered a gorgeous gin Frenchie with perfectly balanced foam and flavor. It was honestly one of the highlights of my visit. This spot is a true hidden gem and now holds a special place in my heart. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for great drinks, great vibes, and a throw back atmosphere.
