We occasionally have meetings at Dodge City and there's a large room in the back that they push tables together so that we can all sit as a group. I think the same server usually waits on us and I wish I could remember her name but somehow she manages to keep track of what everyone is eating and drinking and that's incredible because there are usually 15 - 20 of us. I wasn't able to get pictures of everything that our group had but it all looked great and our server took amazingly good care of all of us. The owner, I believe, came over at the end of our meal to thank us for visiting. We should try to visit Dodge City some evening because the menu changes from a more lunch-oriented / sandwiches / salads one to a more supper-oriented / entree-type one. read more

Stopped for an early dinner at around 5 pm. Place was rather empty when I arrived but started to fill up. The restaurant was clean and a bit dated. My waitress (Danyell) immediately took my order of shrimp cocktail and the prime rib special. The food is where the experience soured. The shrimp cocktail (6 pieces) was cooked well and arrived chilled. The issue I had was with the garlic aeoli, cocktail sauce, and old bay seasoning dust that was generously sprinkled on top of the shrimp. Both sauces were under seasoned and the dry old bay seasoning added an odd texture and taste that detracted from th flavor of the shrimp cocktail. The prime rib was extremely tough, had no flavor, and was missing the cap. This was a big disappointment as I expected more from award winning chef Dougie Krick. The meal included mashed potatoes, however, as they do not offer a baked potato, I substituted for steak fries which arrived greasy. Total with tip was $85. I'm so happy I stumbled upon this restaurant it was incredible from start to finish!! I ate everything so quickly I don't even have pictures to prove I was there !! Guess I'll just need to go back!! our last visit was in 2019, decor was the same, the servers did not look happy, the menu is one page with barely legible print, for being known as a steakhouse, limited options. no Porterhouse, limited on RibEye options. the wedge salad was drowned in some weird ginger something glaze. The lettuce was not fresh, no snap to it, overly priced for a small wedge. the RibeEye was cooked ok, the demi glace probably saw better days, over salted. staff was not overly friendly, disappeared at times. the owner walked out never stopped at any of the tables to say hello. The bathrooms need serious updating as well as the booths. Probably will not return again for another six years or more. read more

For the past eight years, with only a few Fridays missed, Dodge City has been our place. Week after week, we walk through the doors knowing we're going to be treated well and fed even better. In all that time, we've never had a single bad meal -- not one. The servers set the tone every visit. They're always warm, friendly, and genuinely accommodating. Sunshine has become our favorite over the years, but the truth is every server we've had has been wonderful. Chef Dougie and his crew deserve every bit of praise. The food is consistently delicious, prepared exactly the way we like it, and clearly made with pride. It's the kind of cooking that keeps people coming back, and we certainly have. Went with a large group and everyone enjoyed their meals. My sirloin was wonderful and the waitress was great. The only negative was that the Moscow mule was awful! I could only drink a few sips. My brother and I take our spouses here, every November for their birthdays. The food is great, staff is friendly and service is good. The owner always makes it a point to check on his guests. This year we were pleasantly surprised because the gentleman seated next to us was non other than, Robert Irvine from Restaurant Impossible. We didn't bother him and his guests, but it was cool seeing him there; knowing that he helped revive them back in 2011 and still checks in. We Love this place! read more

I'm absolutely disappointed with our experience here. We arrived and were told we'd be seated within 15 minutes, but after waiting for about 25 minutes with no word, I approached a server to ask for an update. During this time, I noticed several open tables. The kind server went to speak with the woman who had taken our name. However, when she returned, the response was shocking. The woman (and I use the term loosely) said we should have made a reservation if we expected to be seated and walked off before I could even respond. Absolutely rude! I asked to speak to a manager, and the owner came out--who was even more dismissive and rude. Whatever happened to basic manners? It was truly appalling. My husband and I ended up leaving, but the owner followed us out, trying to get in a few more words. Unbelievable. Needless to say, we won't be recommending this place to anyone, especially as out-of-towners. If this is the kind of atmosphere you foster, you've lost our business for good. read more

I was surprised at how great my visit was. This place doesn't look like much of the side of the road BUT it delivers on price and service. I had lunch here with my mom and I tried the burger and French onion soup. Both were great and make sure you get the fries! We try to go to Dodge City once a quarter. We went Saturday evening and to our surprise, the restaurant was quiet. Service was great as usual. I ordered the 8oz prime rib Med Rare with raw horseradish on the side. The prime beef was cooked perfectly. I also ordered the asparagus for my side. The asparagus was bright green and the stalk tenderness is always perfect. If you are in the Harrisburg area looking for a great steak, I highly recommend this restaurant. Unfortunately, they continue to struggle with staffing shortages (they always seem to be hiring), but this has never been an impact from us when we dine at the restaurant. Steaks were cooked to a good temperature, well seasoned and delicious as was the side of brisket Mac. Cocktails were well below average. I'd stick to wine and beer. Service left room for improvement. Waitress was not rude and was prompt but lacked in personality although she did open up by the end of the night. Ambiance is fun to theme. Poor service. Great cuts of steak, but not cooked properly. Everything was rare. Filet ordered medium came out on the rarer side of medium rare - it was almost rare, but there was no blood on the plate. Person ate it because they were starving. Strip ordered medium came out rare, and it was chewy and inedible. The server NEVER came around to check everyone's steak/meal was okay. We have eaten across the country and I've never had a steak place not have the server, or sometimes the MANAGER come and verify everything was good after receiving a meal. This is a Server 101 Rule. Took way too long to place a drink order/app. Took way too long for entrees to arrive after the apps came. prices are for an upscale dining experience, without the upscale service or chef. I would pass- there are better places that can cook a steak medium rare or even medium and that have entrees with more than the 1 side offered for the price point. From surf n turf to salmon and drinks and appetizers this place was pretty good. Our waitress treated us like we were second class citizens. Her service was awful. All of the food we ordered was delicious. Calamari was crispy. The filet was so tender and really good flavor. I didn't need to use any salt or pepper. We had to wait a few minutes at the door when we arrived. This was despite already having reservations. They were very few tables occupied in the dining room. Waitress was a bit distracted when she came several minutes after being seated to get our drink orders. Prices were relatively high, in my opinion. I got a New York strip ordered medium. I also got the French onion soup. Other members of our party got various selections. Nobody was overly impressed with their meal. Despite ordering medium, steak came out medium well and was quite tough. Because it took too long to get food in the first place, I didn't complain because I didn't want to wait any longer. Have been back to Dodge City a couple of times recently. The decor done for Restaurant Impossible is starting to show a little wear, but it's still a cool spot with good food and good service. Gives old school steakhouse vibes in a good way. We always have the same waitresses and the service is great. I love the hangar steak with balsamic glaze and orzo. I took my wife here for dinner and we both had a wonderful time. The service here is amazing and everyone was attentive. I highly recommend the steak options, and quite frankly everything was excellent. We had blackened scallops over their Caesar salad, which is a special request, but they'll do it for you. Dining tonight with a colleague, Dodge City is in my credit card rewards program and that definitely influenced my decision to come all the way to here. That and "steak." Warmly greeted and we had very good service all evening. Our waitress was completely understanding of my keto eating regime and made suggestions to help. Excellent. So I had the iceberg wedge to start and it was a nicely topped with bacon and blue cheese and a light dressing that was probably a little too sweet but still good. A good portion and a great starter. Main course arrived, a 16 ounce ribeye that was covered with mushrooms and a brown sauce. Perhaps a little too "marbled" as a reasonable portion of fat was sliced and set to the side. Still, the steak actually had a good flavor and I enjoyed it. The Brussels sprouts with it were nothing special at all and unless you really like them, I'd recommend something else. So I have been here twice with some years in between. My first time was valentines weekend and it was a complete zoo. It's also valentines weekend??? It wasn't the greatest experience and I don't believe in writing something after one time unless it was earth shatteringly horrid. Guess what? Came back with work peeps for a lunch and was impressed. Service was great despite not having as many waitresses as the first time I went pre- Covid so for me that's a win. They were all extremely kind and was attentive. Italian wedding soup was delicious and my steak came out perfectly. It can get a bit noisy in there but I love that as then you can't really hear everyone else's conversations. I just want to say this place is absolutely amazing!!!!!!! Hands down the best restaurant we have dined in since moving to Pennsylvania. My husband and I dined in last night for my birthday. The dining room was very quiet but we like that. Our server greeted us and went over the nightly features. She was super nice. Think and rich and cheesy. Almost like velvet. Definitely the best Mac an adult could ask for. The husband got the bone in rib-eye. It didn't have a lot of fat in it. It was really a wonderful cut of steak. It was seasoned and the sauce on top was just amazing. Honestly it was just amazing and cooked perfectly medium rare. I'm glad he shared! I ordered the peanut butter chocolate mousse cake. It was rich and decedent. Creamy and fluffy with a chocolate crumb crust. It wasn't overly peanut butter. That to....was amazing. I ordered an espresso martini to go with my dessert and that was really good. It was made with real espresso no some cheap espresso liquor. It was nice and refreshing. I just want to say thank you for the great service and thank you to the chef. Everything was absolutely incredible. Service was great once I was I sat. My waitress was super friendly , supportive, and always checking on me. I'm a simple and easy carnivore so I just needed a quality steak with nothing else, no meat jewelry. The cut looked proper and it was cooked to my rare request properly too, good job to the cooks. The quality of the meat sourcing was pretty poor though, that is the only reason why I rated 3 stars. As a "steakhouse", please source in higher quality meat. I source my own local steer every year and I grew up in a cattle broker family. So I know good meat sources when I taste them. I unfortunately won't return, a steakhouse should blow me away with the main course. Oh and to end on a positive note, loved the old rustic western steakhouse look inside that they were trying to pull off. I used to live in Colorado and Arizona, so I love seeing that. read more
