All I can say is Wow.... Let's do some math. I'm 66 years old and have 46 years of corporate travel under my belt, eating at restaurants 2-3 times a week. That's roughly 4600 dining experiences allowing for holidays and time off. I've never walked out of a restaurant before ordering but this time we did. My wife and I found the Brick Oven 7-8 years ago and regarded it as one of those places that we have to go to when in the area and we have come back at least once a year when in the area and it has always been great, a really special place where memories have been made. We walked in yesterday after 1pm and waited for someone to seat us. A tall, middle aged gentleman walked up to us and handed us two menus, pointed to a table in the corner and said "sit there but it will be a while before I get to you and walked off. The seating at that particular table was cramped with another couple sitting at the table behind us so in a few minutes we got up and asked him if we could sit at one of the four seat tables in the middle that were empty. There were only a few other tables occupied so we figured there would be no harm in asking. He looked at us with disgust, rolled his eyes and snapped back "I don't care where you sit" and walked off. Not trusting what the rest of the experience would be we turned around, put the menus on the hostess stand and we heard him say "yeah, that's fine" as we walked out. I like to support local businesses so we went just down the street and had a wonderful lunch. I hate to scratch this place off but we will never return which is sad because we remember how nice the people were, the great service and phenomenal food in the past. I really hope this place makes it but this guy has no business dealing with the public. read more

And for one reason: they got CHEAP! If you order any topping, it will be hard to find. Cheap, cheap, cheap. Don't waste your money. I ordered mushroom and anchovies. I've eaten at The Brick Oven quite a few times as it is near the OWA Amusement Park and I've got friends that live near this area. This Gulf Coast pizza & Italian restaurant is noted for their pizza, calzones, subs, pasta and salads. This is some of the best pizza and Italian food in this area of of the Gulf Coast when evaluating it in comparison to the other pizza options available in other Foley, Alabama restaurants. The Gulf Coast has a lot of great food and The Brick Oven is a one of the handful of good Gulf Coast Italian restaurant options where you can get some decent pizza in a relatively quick turnaround time as they also manage to keep up some good quality while also offering everything at a decent price. Overall, this is a great spot to get an affordable meal which is still of good quality and you can also enjoy a beer here with your food. The pizza didn't look anything like the photos and was barely warm when we picked it up. For over $40 plus,, it just wasn't worth it. Honestly, you're better off going to Pizza Hut or Domino's. I ordered through UberEats and it was a perfect hand off and the delivery time was not crazy. The pizza was an up in smoke pizza. This is a good solid pizza with a great cheesy flavor. A little greesy for my liking and light toping, not like the pictures in UberEats. However, the toppings were enough, just don't expect it to look like the pictures. WARNING cannolis are my favorite dessert and I'm a verified expert... so believe me when I say... ask for chocolate on the side or NONE. The chocolate consistency is odd. It ruined the taste of the perfect cannoli. My mouth is watering for it but I just can't eat this :( Will I come back? At the tune of 60 bucks for a ruined cannoli and a decent pizza and a 2 liter, no I won't be returning. However, I wish them well and it may suit the locals more than a foodie like me :) read more

On our way to a state park, we decided to stop and eat. We picked this pizza place based on the online reviews. It's a small, clean, simple pizza place in a strip mall across from OWA. Being self proclaimed pizza snobs, we're picky. We loved their pizza. It's easy to scorch the bottom of thin crust pizza but this pizza was cooked perfectly. If I had one complaint, I would suggest they up the toppings, they are borderline "skimpy". The appetizer, Lava Bread with the ranch/sour cream sauce, was our favorite dish. The reason for the 5 stars - the service. Haven't experienced this kind of service since pre pandemic. Steve was so impressive to watch navigate a busy Friday afternoon, solo, and still give us amazing service that on top of our tip, my teen dau took a $5 bill from her purse and threw it in the tip jar on her way out because Steve was such a great representation of a time we all want back, mutual respect, kindness and integrity. On top of that!! Our bill came out to $20 per person for a 4 top table - 2 large pizzas, 1 appetizer, 3 fountain drinks (1 water) and two desserts + amazing service?!? It's like we stepped into a time machine and went back to 2018. We live an hour away but when we're in town again, this will be one of our stops. read more

This local family owned and operated pizzeria is a great place for a slice of pie and a lot more. They use fresh ingredients, and both their dough and sauces are made from scratch with some very tasty options. You can get hand-tossed, thin crust, and gluten-free cauliflower crusts and their plum tomato sauce comes regular or spicy as well as a garlic toasted cream sauce. All that and they fire 'em up in a big big brick oven right out front in a NY style pizza flair. The menu includes starters, salads, specialty pizzas, build-your-own pizzas, pastas, subs, calzones and desserts. Two highly recommended items are the Lava Bread which is a cheesy bread that's made with pepperoni, hot tomato sauce and their ranch dressing and their cannoli, all those and The Aloha (Hawaiian pizza) are my legit favorites. The interior is clean and comfy with very friendly and attentive folks who take great care of you. They serve Coke products, tea and they have wines, domestic, foreign and IPA's with some drafts including a red ale from our own local Big Beach Brewery. They also have daily happy hour specials. Nice deal for lunch specials daily from 11-3 are a affordable options where you can choose an entree, drink & choice of side salad or cannoli for $10! I'm not a big fan of upcharges for using plastic so I bring cash but if you don't have your own dough then be prepared for the added 4% if using a credit/debit card.
