    Delicious stuffed mushrooms appetizer. Yummy!
    Debbie G.

I really like this restaurant. It is decorated simple, clean, has a small bar and always friendly service. We sat at a table. The stuffed mushroom appetizer is one of the best I have ever had. The app has to be homemade and not the typical frozen fried mushrooms. The pretzel appetizer is really good with two dipping sauces. The pizza is good. Not great but I'm also a pizza snob from the Chicago area. I don't like sweet drinks and the server and bartender listened to my requests and made delicious drinks. I really appreciate that. I like to come here every time I am in GS. The prices are reasonable too. Check them out!

Fish Sandwich (Blackened Mahi) -no fries. And remoulade sauce - get it! Bit it before I thought to take pic. It comes as a full bun.

First time to try this and we were NOT disappointed. Went on a Wednesday so it was quiet. Ambiance is relaxed and comfortable. Hubby commented how clean it was. Our waitress, M'Lynn, was fantastic. She worked with me on ordering. I have a shrimp allergy so we had to make some substitutions and she was terrific about it. Hubby ordered the Oyster Poboy and fries. Huge sandwich and plenty of fries on the side. I ordered the Fish sandwich with the Blackened Mahi and a side salad. Both were fantastic. The Mahi was a slab on the ciabiatta bread. My toppings (lettuce, tomato, and purple onion) were on the side so I could dress as a liked. Also had slice of lemon. I commented on the sauce that was on Hubby's sandwich (which was served open face for you to fold to eat) and M'Lynn said that's our remoulade...would you like some for your sandwich too? Uh, YES!! And get it. You won't leave hungry. I guarantee it. As first timers, we didn't realize there is a back patio that sits right on the water. Check that out! And you can also feed the turtles and fish. I love checking out the local places and this one I will return to again!

Local owned!! Fun location.. be careful when parking. Narrow road and gravel lot. Check out daily specials. Shrimp and crawfish boil was huge and loaded with shrimp!! Regular menu has wide variety of choices. Pizza..burgers...sandwiches..fried fish. Drinks are poured well. Limited selection of beers but full bar.

Coming to this spot- trying to find something with good fish - nothing looked to appealing- so went with the tuna fish - which I felt like the bread was tastier than than the tuna - came out with my side salad - which was also better than my boneless chicken wings -thanks again

Food was fresh and very good. Atmosphere was what one would want for a fish house experience. The shrimp were huge, fresh and delicious. Tried the coleslaw with my meal and it was really good as well. Service was top notch.

We were so glad to see that someone decided to open here again after the old place shut down! The service was great! We had the pizza and wings, and both were yummy. I loved that the wings are smoked and then fried. I do wish they had some other wing sauce options besides just BBQ, Buffalo, and honey mustard, though. Parmesan garlic, sriracha honey, or even just lemon pepper would round things out some. Malinda had the pizza Margherita, and it was delicious. The sauce and crust were yummy, and it had big circles of melted mozzarella. We tried the onion rings, too--they weren't like they used to be, but I really liked the sauce that came with them. They have their liquor license now, and they actually have 10 draft beer options. All in all, we are so pumped to have another restaurant close to our house! We are excited to go back soon to try the burgers and other options.

Had a great breakfast right on Bon Secour River. Best bacon I've ever had and a triple chocolate cheesecake was really good. Feeding the turtles in the river was very cool. A great place to watch the sunset.

They are only open for dinner which starts at 3pm and then depending on the day they close at 8pm or 9pm. When I arrived right at 3pm they already were jam packed but I fortunately was able to grab a table two days in a row after failing to get a table multiple times when I showed up around 5pm and 6pm. The owners are originally from New Orleans so that immediately let me know I was going to be in for some good food. I sampled soup, pasta, pizza, a sandwich and their dessert. I was happy with all of the food and only have a minor issue with the pizza as it is more of a thick crust and I prefer thinner crust pizza. The service was attentive and took good care of me. They also offer specials which they will post on Facebook sometimes. Overall I like this place but having to arrive so early to get a table throws my dining schedule off.

I finally went here last week for the first time with a few friends. I have been hearing a lot of…read morebuzz about the place for a while, and we were all pretty satisfied. We had a really good time, and really enjoyed most everything. This spot is located inside of the already popular Southern Shores Eats and Drinks, right there on 59, just north of County Road 98. And the place is called Scallywags. Looking at the main menu they have a huge selection of drinks, including a 32-ounce Rum Bucket, Bushwackers, and local draft beers like Fairhope Blue Steel. Scallywags is pretty much billed as a pizza joint, but with their drinks they could easily be called a bar with bar food. But the menu does have kinda bar food but much more. They just started a newer feature, a "Quick Plunder Lunch," and we went for that. It's available Tuesday through Friday from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM and gets you a sandwich or a personal pizza with a drink for 11 bucks. We ended up ordering a mix of things to share around the table. We started with their hand-tossed pepperoni tavern pizza that came out hot with the cheese and toppings loaded all the way to the edge, very nice. For the sandwiches, we tried the Galley Cuban, which was pressed nice and crispy and served with a big side of house-made potato chips. We also ordered the hand-breaded chicken tenders and fries that were quite good, the calamari, and the Black Flag Reuben, which had a nice corned beef and sauerkraut on marbled rye with a little pirate flag toothpick. Everything was made to order and tasted fresh, the portions were huge, and our server was super attentive the entire time. It is a great addition to downtown Foley, and I will definitely be back to try their Chicago stuffed deep dish next time. Scallywags is closed on Sundays and Mondays, open Tuesdays thru Thursdays from 9 AM to 8 PM, and they stay open later until 10 on Fridays and Saturdays. The reviews are mostly positive, with a strong 4.5 average, with lots of buzz about the 60 cent wings on Thursday nights, and my favorite new revelation, that they fry everything in 100% beef tallow. Bottom line: Good food, cool chill vibe and good people and don't be intimidated by the limited, sometimes difficult on-street parking, there's plenty out back. Recommended!!

The decor was cute-beachy with a mermaid skeleton over a door which brought a smile. Staff was nice and helpful, refilled our drinks several times. Placed our order preparing to wait cause we know these take a long while to cook. Had some calamari while we waited. The breading was good, but the calimari was a bit rubbery. Our pizza took the usual 40-45 mins and looked and smelled yummy. The bottom crust was crispy which was a good sign. I did wish they'd given us a sharp knife to cut with but it was fine. It was a really good deep dish pizza overall and the cheese was nice and stringy. However, it wasn't a Chicago deep dish-the crust doesn't have the cornmeal-y taste and the sausage didn't have that bite. Sauce was a little too sweet to be Chicago pizza, but I looked at the menu again and it said "Chicago inspired". So in the case of being put together into that almost casserole-y concoction it is..But if you are from Chicago and looking for a true Chicago deep dish like you'd get at Uno's, Rosati's, Aurelios this wasn't it. Very good for what it was though.
