My gent and I came here for a quick lunch because I had a Groupon and we were in the area. The server made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. She was really nice to the 2 regulars at the bar who left about 10 minutes after we arrived at 12:30. We ordered an iced tea, grilled chicken sandwich, and a burger. They didn't have sweet tea and she gave us sugar packets that didn't melt in the ICED tea. The bar didn't have simple syrup either which was a bit weird since its a bar. It was a clean bar though. 1:05 rolls around and we finally get our meals. Remember for the last 20 minutes we were the only customers in there! So, 30 minute ticket time for 2 sandwiches seems ridiculous. Our server was not nice and ignored us almost the whole time. She was sitting with what I assume are the other "workers" and/or manager or owner. It would have been nice if she could have checked in on our food or maybe asked if we needed a refill. She even ignored us when we tried to get change for the tip. Maybe pay attention to your customers instead of chatting up your co-workers so you can have return customers. read more

THIS PLACE REFUSES SERVICE DOGS!!! Big lawsuit coming their way!!! (My dog laid down and never moved until he was called, like he was trained to do!!!) Nobody in the entire bar had a problem with my dog!!! I visited this establishment maybe a half a dozen times in the last two years I've never caused a problem and my service dog has never been refused so why now!!! Nobody in the entire bar had a problem with my service dog. J have many many witnesses as to why I was asked to leave!!! 90% of restaurants and bars in Dallas/and its suburbs are non smoking. So I really think Brick Tavern should put a sign on their door "we allow smoking here". That way those people who only complained of the smoking in their reviews wouldn't have walked through the doors. Yes, its a biker bar on some nights of the week. But the people are nice if you take the time to leave your ego at the door and act like a human being, because, surprise, bikers are people too. Yes, always check your receipt, especially when you are out at night, I am sure some places do pad if they think you are too lit to add. So recommendation is if you don't mind smoke and you can add a simple receipt stop by and enjoy the music and the comradery. read more

This is a cute bar. The wait staff where very attentive. The beer was hella cold. My only issue so far is the smoke. I'm not a guy to be the keyboard warrior but this needs to warn people. Went to the grand opening last night 11/20/21. Probably the worst bbq if had in a while and the only plate that was fully eaten of our party of 8 was the loaded potato skins. Both new drinks, the one with rosemary and the bourbon one, were awful to drink. Understood and was patient with the servers but it's the food that will not be back for. Lots of bikers in the front entrance blocking the way, just FYI. Not sure if that bothers anyone but just was hard to walk around them to get in the restaurant. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE. yes it IS a smoking bar. sorry to those who dont like it but this bar is located in the outskirts of the big city where smoking is no longer common in bars. i dont smoke but i dont have to hang out here if i cant handle the smoke. there are plenty of nonsmoking bars to go to. Food is good for the price, and yes it IS bar food. bunch of cheap, deep fried, unhealthy, yet delicious when drunk bar food. you will not receive a cloth napkin with your burger and fries. you WILL be full and wont break the bank. the owner is nice, staff are fun, the dj is great and the women flirtatious. thats why i come here. this is a fun place where you go to drink, eat, hope to not get in trouble, and maybe even get laid. these 1 star reviews seem to be directed at all the things that make this place exactly what it is. maybe im weird but i like all those features of a tavern. if you are between 21-30, enjoy hanging out at Starbucks with your macbook while listening to hipster folk music, this is not your kind of place. go elsewhere to leave your reviews. also, if you believe that guys with large beards are representative of toxic masculinity, you may find this place to be offensive. read more

The smokiest bar I've ever been in the area. As part of our adventure this is one of the newer place we haven't checked out. It is located on 78 in Sachse. Looks like they have live music here every weekend. It would be a great hangout spot if it wasn't for smoking, a lot of smoking. read more

The Brick Tavern is a bar. There's alcohol, food, pool tables and sometimes a live band. And smoking. Lots of smoking. Considering the nearby options for such an establishment are limited, this little strip mall bar works in a pinch. The bar itself was full of what appeared to be regulars who all knew each other (love that) and our waitress for the evening ran her ass off taking care of us - even when we moved to the pool table area, which I think was technically someone else's section. There's a live band on the weekend and somewhere around 9:00pm or so they start charging a cover ($5-I think). Get there early if you want a table, this place fills up and gets lively. read more

This would be a great place to see live bands perform, because they have a decent-sized stage and plenty of room to sit with a good view of the band...BUT - they are a SMOKING establishment. Yuck! I went to The Brick Tavern for the first (and last) time this past weekend. I went there because a band I knew and liked was playing there. Right when I walked through the front door though I was hit with the nasty smell of smoke. I went ahead and got a beer at the bar and sat down. I decided I was going to give it a chance and see how smoky it got and how much it would bother me. I stuck it out for about 30 minutes before I decided to bail. If they would change to no-smoking inside I would rate them four stars. But since they stink of cigarettes I won't be coming back. read more

Darts/Billiards/Golden Tee/Karaoke/Live Music/Sports/Wings/Burgers/Pizza and possibly the best drink specials in DFW. Brick Tavern also runs fundraisers for their community. Friendly, cozy, casual, they serve very good food. Brick Nachos are the best . Never an empty glass. Nothing fancy, just a nice place to relax and enjoy a drink, food and good friends. This place does bar food as good if not better than any bar in York county. The service is always friendly and inviting. The big screens inside and on the deck help accommodate to whatever sport you like. My personal favorite is the chili; getting it with jalapenos helps loosen up the vocal chords for a long night of singing on Wednesday nights. They have the best karaoke deejay in York county. The jukebox is top-notch and social-friendly. And there are always patrons trying their hand at the video golf game. A good time will be had by all. read more

Yes, there is smoke. But there was also very good air circulation. From the moment we walked in, I felt comfortable. We sat at a table near the bar. The table was clean until the waitress sat the menus down. After that, the table had a streak of grease on it. Yes, there were bikers. But there was no rowdiness. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. The noise level wasn't even that bad. There are a lot of tables in this place. It looks like they draw a good crowd. The waitress was very nice and took great care of us. The margarita I ordered was good, but tasted like it might have been partially mix. We ate the fried mushrooms and fried jalapenos. Both were excellent. We left as the Pink Floyd tribute band was doing their sound check. Would have liked to see them. Bottom line... I would recommend this place to anyone. The place has a comfortable feel, the smoke isn't too bad, the staff is nice, and the bar food is good. read more

Don't waste your time or your money on this place. They have overcharged us up to double what we should have paid at least twice ( which is ultimately why we will never go back a third time - beware). The service is horrible so don't expect to get your drink any sooner than half an hour after you order it even if the bar is half empty. The food is less than average. So eat before you go, if you decide to stick it out. Some of the bands they book are pretty good but it's hit or miss. If you decide to brave it out, just don't expect anything and maybe you won't be disappointed. Check your bill if nothing else before you pay. read more

Went to the Brick Tavern on Dec 8th, it was extremely smokey inside the entire place. I would have to agree with the first review, the clientelle was "rough" with "biker bar" types. The drinks are a joke and extremely overpriced for what you get. I ordered crown and never received it, just a cheap immitation. First let me say I don't write many yelp reviews. You have to be truly horrible, or the best of the best, to get me to take time out of my day to write a review. Brick Tavern was so bad I wanted to make a review on it so others would know about it. I'm reluctant to give it even one star. I went here because I didn't want to drive to Dallas to go to a bar. Big mistake. This place is a waste of time. First of all, I have to pay a $5 "cover" fee to walk in the door. Really? A single female having to pay cover? If this were a cool club, I could maybe see that. But this is a pathetic environment - clearly an old restaurant site that was just cleared if its tables, and a bunch of booze brought in. There's no trendy vibe, cool atmosphere, or any interesting decor. I mean, they had a TV on the wall showing snapshots of people, and ads for the local Wylie tire store. LAME. The "live music" was a joke, just a bunch of noise in the background. The bartenders looked to be a bunch of tired moms, and weren't friendly or perky, or at all attentive or quick about getting you a beer. (And I didn't drink, I'm commenting on the service my friend got; I refused to buy any booze from a joint that charges $5 to walk in the door) I was starving but this place certainly didn't look like the kind of place that I'd trust to have sanitary kitchen procedures, let alone produce any quality food. I'm really amazed at the amount of people that were there, but I guess there's a lot of people who will gather anywhere you hang a sign that says "bar". Sad. I left after 30 minutes and went to the Ramblin Rose around the corner. That's not my kind of bar either, but at least there was no cover, people were having fun, and it was a way cooler atmosphere. So if you're looking for a cool bar, skip this place and invest in some drive time to Dallas - way better bars there. read more

Went on a Thursday night, and it seemed like most of the people there were regulars. More of a dive than a restaurant, with lots of smoking, but the wings and pizza were really good. The service was quick and friendly, beer cold (and decently priced), with plenty of tvs and projector screens to watch a game on. We'd go back again, especially if we got another groupon. This place was better than I thought it would be when I first entered. Yes you can smoke here but the smoke smell is not overwhelming. This may change later in the evening. Since i came in early on a Saturday I may have caught the place less smoky than normal. The tables were sticky, as were the menus. We ordered the fried mushrooms and the fried jalapenos. They were both very good and the portions were large. My drink was made very well. Just the right amount of liquor. I wish I would have stayed longer because they had a Pink Floyd Tribute band that looked like it might be very good. Later I saw a sign that they have live music all the time. The waitress was very attentive and made sure we never wanted for anything. The bathrooms were clean. The fact there was one only may be a problem if the place gets crowded. I thought this place was over all pretty ok to hang out at. If you are coming for a band may I suggest you get there before eight so you wont have to pay the cover. read more

I was afraid a biker bar would be dirty and full of, well, bikers. They used to be a few doors down in the same strip mall. It is the old Monkey's Pub (same owner), but it is a step up from the old location. Clean and tastefully decorated. No bikers there when I went, but I heard a few do still actually frequent the place. Food is pretty good; mostly fried stuff. We went on a Saturday, and there was a band playing, actually 2 bands. Music was AWESOME. Hard rock cover band and an STP tribute band. Both were killer. Smoking inside, so be aware. read more

What a frustrating experience. I would rate this establishment less than a star if the option was available. The female bartender last night (brunette with tats) despite there being a bike night was foul, rude, and wore her bad attitude on her sleeves all night. snapping fingers at someone trying to make a drink decision and barking at a patron like a like some kind of junkyard dog isn't tolerated in my world at all. while trying to take my order, she loses another patrons credit card, rolls her eyes and scoffs continually... meanwhile I literally walked away to the other bartender who didn't seem to have a clue what he was doing just so i could order a shot, and the brunette didn't even know that i had walked away... a batch of wings took over 30 minutes to receive when there were no other orders in.. every person in my club had to go to the bar to get served because the waitress had no sense of customer SERVICE! Now with that said.. once i received the wings.. i will say that they were tasty and though they were nuclear hot and scalding, they were delicious... Bottom line... I've been a waiter, bar back, bartender, bar manager and business owner... This is the service industry.. if you can't serve.. GTFO and let someone else do a better job. This would be a really cool place, and could really get bumpin, but not with the crap service that they have right now.. i would clean house of the employees and get live music that would pull in a crowd to celebrate a night like Bike Night. I must say that I agree with the majority of the other reviewers. This is pretty much a biker bar, which I am okay with but for me, the smoking just ruins what could be a really nice place. It definitely is a good place for the live music and the live music is usually pretty good but most of the bartenders, with the exception of one, could care less if you're there. They are too busy on the phone or chatting with one another. We like to go mainly when it's slow and the smoke isn't as bad and we like that they have pool tables. Now, the main reason I am writing today is because we were there last night and from what I can gather, their cook is a young guy who wears a wife beater shirt. Now, I've only ordered food here once and it was okay, but after seeing him last night walking back and forth from the kitchen to the bar area in his wife beater shirt totally disgusted me. Don't cooks generally have to wear a jacket or at least minimally a t-shirt? The thought of this guy cooking over people's food with nothing covering his underarms made my stomach turn. Anyhow, if you're going to go, go on a slower night with less smoke, otherwise, you'll go home and have to immediately wash your hair and clothes.
