A lot of the reviews talk about the experience and the service, but not many mention price. I highly recommend you inquire about and budget for alterations, import tariffs, fees, etc. when shopping for your dress to avoid unpleasant surprises down the road. This shop wanted almost half the cost of my dress for alterations alone, so I ended up finding a reputable seamstress elsewhere that did the same alterations for less. I will say that the service for the dress buying part of the experience was excellent. After that, I did not get the impression the store cared as much for the alterations to the same level as the dress purchase. If they had, I would have considered using them for the convenience of a one stop shop despite the price. read more

I just said Yes to the Dress yesterday at The Bridal Boutique in Columbia, MD! This was the 5th out of 7 bridal shops I went to between Maryland and Virginia. During my first visit I didn't find THE dress but I loved working with Samantha so much, I decided to come back and try again. She pulled some dresses she thought I would like based off what I told her during my first visit and the 5th dress was THE one! It was a dress I never would've pulled myself but it brought together all the details I loved on all the dresses but I never thought looked good on me, it was the right silhouette, it gave the wow with the touch of unique I've been wanting, yet also just such a beautiful dress. And all thanks to Samantha! I worked with Samantha on both my visits, and out of all the shops she was my favorite stylist to work with! She listened to everything I was saying and how I felt, she made me feel so comfortable saying no to dresses that I didn't love, which I think is so important. I had a really nice appointment at The Bridal Boutique and Brooke was the perfect stylist for me. She worked with my style, budget, and comfort to make sure we found exactly what I wanted. She was very friendly and fun and still very professional. It's clear she has strong knowledge of her gowns and customer experience and service skills. We booked the VIP Experience and were a little disappointed that some of the features we expected like the ability to play our own music and requested fruit as part of the snacks were missing and not communicated, but that did not take away from the overall experience of feeling special and finding a fantastic dress. I decided to purchase at this store that is an hour away instead of one 10 minutes from me that had the same dress because of Brooke's customer service and how much communication around preferences and confirmation I got before the appointment. ***LONG BUT GLOWING REVIEW ALERT! *sigh* where to begin...well first of all, I LOVED the experience I had here. Weirdly enough, although I am actually a bride too (set to marry December 2024), I actually ended up coming with a bride friend of my mine that was coming for her first dress fitting. And I came to help her out, keep her company and show my support of course. The Atmosphere: But while in there, I was so distracted by the beautiful set up! This place is so lovely! You would not think much of it just driving by on the outside but please GIVE IT A CHANCE!!! It is so beautiful inside! The aesthetic is just so wonderful! The furniture, the order and designer sections, the lighting, the rugs, just everything was fabulous! Next, the staff. My friend and I were helped by Anna (pronounced "On-Nuh"--like from Disney's Frozen). She was the sweetest!!!! Literally amazing and so helpful! She provided my friend with different bridal accessory options (each one better than the last), she was super attentive all the way through. But not at all overbearing or pushy. Just patient, helpful and kind. The team worked cohesively together as well. Once the seamstress came out to pin my friend and offer different customization options, it was like everyone knew the plan and communicated effectively. Once one was done, the next staff member just followed up. Every staff member there was knowledgeable and professional. You felt like you were in good hands. The selection. They had a vast selection of dress, at least 8 different designers not including their private collection. With several items from each collection! And again, the way they organized the designer sections was just great. It calmed the Type A personality I have lol And everything was so neat! Also, they had some reasonable prices and good deals! Now, for my personal experience. Like I said, I was there with my bride friend so I was mainly focused on her. But during her waiting times, I did some encouraged browsing. I eventually stumbled across this beautiful Morilee sample dress. I initially doubted that I would actually like the dress on me, although the dress on the hanger, was so nice. Well, first, Anna saw me browsing and offered me the opportunity to try the dress on. I wasn't going to ask but since she offered, I leaped at the chance to just try it on. Coincidentally, the dress was my size too! Well, I tried that dress on and MY GOODNESS the dress was beautiful. At least two other employees commented on how perfect the dress was for me and I must admit...it was stunning! One of the other staff members even brought out champagne as Anna brought out a veil for me and fluffed my dress. They gave me the whole bridal dress experience and I wasn't even scheduled for one! It was just impromptu. And they treated me like another bride not just a friend of a bride. That alone makes me want to come back! Anna also shared that the dress I had on was $500 off too because it was a sample dress. I already have a dress, which the staff knew before I put the dress on but I won't lie, this dress and the experience has me a little torn although I still love my dress. I also loved that NOBODY pressured me. Whether I come back to buy the dress or not, I WILL be retuning to look at accessories and to possibly get my alterations done there since they have an in house seamstress. Also, you can get your alterations and dress preservation done there even if you didn't buy your dress from there. They handle all services even beyond just bridal dress sales. So truly it is a great place to try if you are a bride looking for her dress, accessories, alterations etc. The Bridal Boutique of Columbia, is 5 minutes from my house and I hadn't gotten a chance to stop in there before selecting another dress initially but I am SO happy I got the chance to go in there! I was referred to The Bridal Boutique by my Maid of Honor who resides nearby in Columbia, MD. I had already visited a few other boutiques in my area (Takoma Park, MD) and was very disappointed in the styles offered as well as the pushy nature of the consultant. I agreed to meet my MOH at Bridal's. The store is gorgeously decorated, and it puts you in the wedding mood. Perfect lighting, comfortable couches and chairs, full length mirrors and a vast variety of dresses. I got there a bit early, so I was able to look around while I waited for my guest. Once my guest arrived, she was greeted and brought to where I was. Our consultant was Holly and she was amazing from start to finish. She got to know me, and some details of my engagement and what I wanted on my special day. She then selected a few gowns to try on, discreetly in another curtained room. She was nice enough to help me get in and out of my gowns but while maintaining respect and dignity. Every dress she recommended had the 'wow' affect, meaning she had good taste. I went back and forth between dresses because it was difficult to decided. I wanted them all, so she could tell from my facial and body language I wasn't satisfied and wanted more options. As if a gown was just sitting and waiting for me, she went and got it, I tried it on and fell in love and said Yes to the Dress. It fit me perfect, Holly even turned down the lights to reception lights so I could get a view of the gown in different settings. She went above and beyond to help me select my special dress. She wasn't pushy at all, understood that I didn't have enough money, so she waited for me to come back while she held the dress for me. She helped me order the veil and recommended I come in for alterations close to the wedding date. Best of all I walked out with a cake and bottle of Champaign. I was recommended this place by a friend of mine and on groups on Facebook so I knew I had to come check it out. I took a look on their website first and loved the dresses! I booked an appointment which was easy and because I had looked at the website prior to my appointment I was able to leave a note for the styles and dresses I wanted to try on and tell them the types of dresses I was into. The day of the appointment it was such a fun experience I ended up trying a lot of dresses and looked at everything in the store. I had a wonderful stylist who was patient, kind, very helpful, and helped me with everything I needed. She grabbed all the dresses I wanted to try and took a look at the notes that I had in my file. I had a great experience at the Bridal Boutique. My stylist was Lindsey and she did an amazing job helping find my dress. She was fun and upbeat the entire time. She felt like a good friend helping me find my dress.. I was kinda unclear of what I wanted and I was pretty open (somewhat) to styles. I brought in pictures, I recommend looking at their website before coming in to see what they have and write down the style numbers, that helps the stylist find the dresses for you. I found 5-6 dresses right of the back and found one that was on display sort of. Lindsey was very supportive and engaging during the whole process. We went to try on dresses and left me very much in control of what I wanted and asked me several times what I was feeling. If I didn't like it we moved on with no hard feelings or judgement of trying on several dresses. After I had tried on maybe 3 dresses, I was intrigued about this one dress that was in the front near the register. It spoke to me lol it looked very much like the sparkle Pnina Tornai dress I had seen on "say yes to the dress" which is like $12000 anyway I tried it on despite it being strapless, I feel in love. It looks almost exactly the same Again I must say Lindsey was amazing. The dress had a lot of extra "stuff" underneath to make it look big and puffy. Lindsay was on her knees helping me stuff the extra fabric between my legs so I could see what it would look like. I got my dress and I couldn't be happier with the service I received there. Finding the right dress was a breeze. I was able to get an appointment easily and they had a ton of dresses to choose from. My consultant was wonderful in helping me find THE PERFECT dress, she even photoshopped the back of the dress onto a picture of me as I am not a sample size! After purchasing the gown, I have had nothing but trouble. When I went to pick up my dress they first brought me another bride's gown. When I finally got my gown, it was a few inches too long despite paying for a custom hem. I brought the gown home and was told to call in early June to set up an alteration appointment. When I called I was told the earliest I could come was in mid-September (I am an October bride). Overall, after picking out the dress, the process with The Bridal Boutique has been nothing short of a bridal nightmare. read more

I've had two appointments here with Mary. Both have been extremely positive and enjoyable experiences. I had some concerns about not fitting into any dresses, but The Bridal Boutique has a lot of dresses in a large range of sizes. Mary has been really great the whole time, she clearly knows what I like and what I don't like and has pulled a ton of dresses I wouldn't have pulled for myself but ended up liking the best. The dress I'm pretty sure I'm going to order is one such dress--I'm sure I flipped past it when searching and never gave it a second thought, but she took my comments on what I liked about certain dresses and what I didn't and found the perfect combination. She and the rest of the staff are very friendly, and even on a busy Saturday I never felt rushed or pressured to buy anything. If anything, I was encouraged to think about it and take my time to decided, since there's still a lot of time before my wedding. I really appreciated the patience shown to me, it makes me feel like they aren't just trying to make a sale but are trying to help me pick the right dress for me. The store itself is very cute. Dresses line the walls all around and there are many pedestals with multi-view mirrors. It can be a little cramped when it's a full house, but it never feels overwhelming because each space is pretty separate. Make an appointment if you plan to go on a weekend! Both dressing rooms I was in were plenty spacious. I didn't feel cramped in either and felt there was enough room to wrangle myself into a dress. My only complaint is about opportunities to order different sample sizes of dresses. I had found a dress i loved but it was a bridal size 8, it was way to small to even fit on me. They said they could request a sample size 12 from a different shop but that I'd have to pay $100-$150 for it to be delivered, but if I ended buying from then they would apply that to my bill. It's kind of a bummer to hear that I'd have to pay so much money just to try on a dress in a closer size to me, and that was really disappointing to hear. read more

I was in this past Friday for a 10am appointment with Nancy. This was my very first bridal appointment ever and it was amazing! Nancy made me feel extremely comfortable and had me laughing at times. She was very efficient with time and I lost count at how many dresses I tried on! She was running all around the shop! Bottom line... my MOH and one of my bridesmaids had fun! I fell in LOVE with one of their dresses but had another appointment the next day at another boutique because I was specifically looking for a designer that The Bridal Boutique did not carry. I was very close to canceling the next day appointment. Nancy was so understanding and was okay with the fact I had another appointment. She even opened up a time slot for me the next day at 4pm if I wanted to come back for the dress. I am glad I went to the other boutique because comparing the two boutique experiences... customer service and friendliness goes to Nancy and the Bridal Boutique team! The other boutique suggested I try on only 5-7 dresses and the environment was nothing compared to The Bridal Boutique. The other boutique was pushier and discouraged taking photos. I have spent the majority of my wedding planning process pissed off and stressed out solely because of this boutique. After ordering my wedding dress through their shop, their alterations department destroyed it. I ended up having to go to David's Bridal within 2 months of my wedding! Right after getting a new wedding dress, I went to pick up the bridesmaids dresses I had ordered through them. They ordered the wrong dresses!!! So I was back at David's Bridal with 5 weeks until my wedding to get bridesmaids dresses!! If you aren't looking for stress and frustration, I'd avoid the shop. I had even went to Kleinfeld's and was beginning to get discouraged and feel like I would have to settle for a dress I didn't love. My consultant (Kaitlyn) really made the experience here fantastic! I am not an emotional person and really did not think I would cry over a dress, but I felt so beautiful in the one she pulled out for me. I found this gem off a whim as it was centrally located between my mom, MOH and me. First real boutique we tried out for serious wedding dress hunting. Lindsay was our stylist and was awesome. She made it a very low key experience, yet kept the magic of it all present. I think it was helpful to have a stylist that understood how fun yet overwhelming it can be to find "the one". But I never felt pressure to try things on I didn't want, in fact, I tried on something I never thought I'd gravitate towards and it turned out I Said Yes to the Dress!!!! Yay! My sister went to this store for her bridesmaid dresses and wedding gown back in 2017, and when my own boyfriend proposed I pretty much knew that it would be back to The Bridal Boutique! The bridesmaid collections are organized well, and we were able to make an appointment to get my bridesmaids fitted easily. It only took an hour to find the perfect bridesmaid dress because Kaitlyn, our Bridal Boutique represenative, did a wonderful job with narrowing down our search by picking out dresses my bridesmaids described. She is very good at her job, and instinctively knew what they would feel comfortable in. When it came time to make a wedding dress appointment I asked for Kaitlyn again! It made me feel really good when she became excited and hugged me, saying she would be honored to help me find my wedding dress. The wedding dress appointment went smoothly and it only took me an hour and 30min to find the perfect wedding dress! It was very nice to have Kaitlyn working by my side. She not only shared her knowledge about dress fitting with me, she also asked me how my fiance proposed, what it felt like to be engaged, and let me share my personal story about my love and I. This was all happening as I was trying on wedding dress after wedding dress. When it came to narrowing down my choice, it was splendidly easy to do so! Kaitlyn worked with me to logically pick the one I really wanted and felt happy in. My goal in this review is this: The Bridal Boutique not only performs well in the organization and supply of their dresses, they also hire a spectacular team of knowledgeable individuals who know what it's like to appreciate something as emotional as your wedding day. Now I realize that not everyone has this experience, but when your wedding is DEVASTATINGLY cancelled, and you've paid for 1/2 of a $1300 dress.. AND THEY WONT REFUND YOUR MONEY.. needless to say. upset is an understatement. They took $632 dollars I had paid towards my dress, THAT I NEVER PICKED UP.. and kept it. They told me, and my mother that they did NO refunds, regardless of the situation. Save yourself the possibility of this happening to you.. I understand that very rarely do people have weddings cancelled, but they could have been more understandding and sensitive to the situation. I can't recommend the Bridal Boutique, Columbia, MD enough. This was the 4th place I went to for my wedding dress and it should have been the first. I hadn't had great experiences at the previous places I went to and was dreading going to a 4th. They were on time with my appointment, extremely welcoming and most importantly they listened! I highly recommend Samantha L for a consultant - she was what made the experience so warm and loving. They have a lot of dresses - all shapes and sizes and all prices. We pulled a few dresses I liked on the website (I recommend looking at and adding the style codes to the appointment or bringing them with you) and I pulled while looking that day. They have dresses a range of prices and I didn't try any on anything over my budget. (Side note: there are "cheaper' - chain bridal stores out there that can give you a wedding dress for under $500. 1) Bridal Boutique does have a select few dresses under $500 and 2) if you can increase your budget to even just $1K you get 1000% better quality and experience. The consultants know what they're doing and listen to the things you like and don't like about dresses. I said yes to the dress and it was not one I picked - Samanatha listened and she picked the dress after hearing all of my likes and dislikes and I LOVE my choice! The extra money you spend is worth it. It was a very personal and non-stressful experience and I was so happy that I said yes to the dress there. There was no pressure to rush a decision or skew my opinion one way to another, add accessories, or quickly say yes to the dress I really liked. I had a #1 and I left to think about it and came back several days later and still loved it. They deserve more than 5 stars! read more

When searching for my perfect wedding dress, I went to five dress places and The Bridal Boutique in Columbia was by far the best experience! If you go, ask for Samantha -- she is amazing! They offer a huge selection of dresses and the customer service is the best you will find in the business. My stylist listened, picked out dresses that I loved, remained neutral and didn't try to persuade me one way or the other, she respected my budget, and she made me laugh and smile the entire time. I must have gone to about 8 different stores before finding my dress here. My friend recommended this place, due to their vast selection and reasonable prices. They not only provide a wide selection of dresses, but also have accessories, tuxes and bridesmaids attire too. I was paired with Whitney as my consultant. She is sweet as pie, and really took her time with me. She listened closely to my requests, and made great suggestions. I really valued her thoughts and opinions, because she encouraged me to go outside of the box. Before her, a lot of the other consultants pulled dresses that resembled one style. Whitney challenged me to incorporate the elements I loved into other styles. I came very close to buying one of the dresses she actually pulled for me, but ended up going with something else. I did not buy the dress on my first visit. I came a second time and finally sealed the deal. I was given a bottle of celebratory champagne to commemorate that moment. I highly recommend coming here. Request Whitney if you can. You won't regret it. Oct 2019 update: I really love this place, and the service they provide. I'm a little disappointed in their alterations pricing though. They charge an outstanding amount for every little bit. I would advise shopping around for your alterations. You can find it for a bit less than what they are charging in store. read more

I got my wedding dress here and my consultant was Whitney. Whitney has a sweet voice and was patient with all of the dresses I tried on. However when it came to purchasing the dress, in her sweet voice she was very pushy. It didn't occur to me until I got in the car and drove home. I was made to believe that my dress wasn't going to get in on time without a rush order and that I shouldn't look elsewhere if I loved this dress, there's a chance it wouldn't come in if I didn't rush order it THAT day. (My wedding is September 30th and I went in to get my dress in mid May.) My dress came in in early July so it seems I paid a "rush order" for no reason. I tried to give the bridal boutique and Whitney the benefit of the doubt so I went back in to look at bridesmaids dresses with my sister, my maid of honor. We looked for about an hour and tried things on while Whitney was supposed to be helping us. She was very busy with other people but doing what she could to help. When it came to potentially ordering a dress, once again, she was very pushy. We almost gave in until we asked if she could take my sisters measurements. She said she wouldn't take the measurements until we made the purchase. I don't know what kind of bridal boutique would operate this way. We left pretty much on the spot and ordered the dress we liked through another company. I didn't give the bridal boutique 1 star because at the end of the day, there are a variety of beautiful dresses and they are reasonably priced. read more

I said yes to the dress! Holly was such a great help and provided me with a variety of dresses to try on. She also gave me suggestions that matched my preferences and encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone. The dress I ended up choosing was nothing like what I wanted and Holly definitely played a large role in that! Also, my wedding is 3 months away and she was able to so flexibly waive the rush order fee for us and even give us a discount on top of the entire purchase. I had a Sunday appointment at The Bridal Boutique and it was such a fun experience. First thing first, their customer service is incredible. Everyone was friendly and engaging and you really felt like everyone was there just for you. As soon as we walked in the receptionist greeted us, confirmed our details, offered us a drink and invited us to browse around or sit and wait for our stylist. Our stylist was Lindsay and she was great. Her energy was just the right amount to keep you upbeat and feel good about yourself but never pushy. I am very self-conscious about my body, but I felt very comfortable with Lindsay in the dressing room. In there, she was very professional but warm and reassuring all at the same time. We threw A LOT at her and I have to say she has the patience of a higher power :). She took all of our madness like a true champ, never lost her smile at any moment and pulled a variety of dresses for us that met our requests. I tried on maybe 5 or so dresses and thought I had settled on one, but she picked one more that ultimately was THE ONE. I filled out an request online and immediately was called to set up an appointment. They were very informative and helpful throughout the entire process. This being my first day trying on wedding gowns, I was expecting to find the fit/style of dress I was looking for, I ended up finding THE DRESS! Not only did Sarah make this a personal experience for me and my mom, but she listened to each and every individual question, concern, and thought we had throughout the entire appointment. From the moment you walk in you feel like you are meant to be here, like this is where you are supposed to be. You feel welcomed with a warm smile and kindness. When I tell you they were very detailed in their responses, they know what they are talking about. When making the choice to only have my mom come with me, I knew I wanted it to be a special moment shared between us. Sarah truly made it a personal and intimate experience. I honestly feel as though if you wanted to look for your dress, come here expecting to find THE ONE. In early February my maid of honor had visited the shop with me and my mother to pick up my gown, and there she bought her Dessy dress for the occasion. The owner asked if any of the other girls were buying their dresses, and suggested they buy their dress from The Bridal Boutique because of the promotion they were having. I took this into consideration and suggested it to my girls later in an email. Katie's check that she used to pay for the gown at BB was withdrawn from her account within days, and we assumed that all was fine. Yesterday I was called by a very upset maid of honor and told of a troubling and disagreeable situation. She was recently engaged last month, and is now in the process of planning her own wedding and shopping around for wedding dresses. Because I had a decent experience buying my own gown at the Bridal Boutique and she had already purchased her maid of honor gown there, which I will mention again was paid in full and on the spot, it was a natural choice for her to visit your shop to try on wedding gowns. When she inquired about the status of her bridesmaid gown, she was told that it was not ordered yet because your team was still waiting to hear from me about other bridesmaids gowns before placing an order with Dessy. Because it is mid March and the wedding is exactly 3 months away, there is a possibility that the dress would not arrive on time. IN FACT, the Bridal Boutique, being as sales thirsty as they are, had called me several times during working hours to confirm whether or not the girls would be ordering. I explained that all of my bridesmaids live across the country and it would not make sense to order from there. The part of this story that is really troubling for the MOH and myself, is that she was asked to pay rush delivery for her gown. $50 that would come out of her own pocket, because your place of business failed to actually place the order in time that would ensure that the product that she already paid for with a check would arrive on time for the occasion of my wedding. To make matters worse, while the MOH was arguing her refusal at such a ridiculous suggestion, she was told that "the bride should pay" for this mistake. This is an entirely unacceptable and even outrageous suggestion from a business perspective. I was also told by the MOH that she was told that this mistake is actually MY fault, because I never followed up to BB know that the other gowns would not be ordered. EXCUSE ME!?????!!!! Up until this point, my experience with the Bridal Boutique had been positive. The consultants who had helped me with the selection and fitting of my wedding gown, Julie and Paige, were very sweet and accommodating. Originally, I had posted a glowing 5-star review from October when I had placed the order for my gown. What happened yesterday was not only upsetting, it was embarrassing. The credibility of my referral to your place of business to other future brides in the area (and believe me I know many who would have given you good business) has been irreparably damaged. You would think BB would understand dealing with brides every day, but Katie nor I need this added stress now that we are both planning our weddings. UPDATE: Demanding a refund for this maid of honor dress that was never ordered anyway and taking our business elsewhere. Wish I had purchased my gown from a boutique in Alexandria where I was trying it on originally. Especially because BB is failing to take responsibility for their mistake, it is be considered unethical to have taken the MOH's money to begin with. read more

This place was one disaster after another! -we ordered and payed for things to find out weeks later they were discontinued -they sized everyone and dresses came back too small -they called several times to go over our order because they couldn't keep the colors straight -the sales woman asked me the same questions over and over again. -sales associates didn't know the inventory at all and everything seemed like a chore and took forever. It was expensive, impersonal, and added so much stress to my wedding planning. Do not waste your time or money here! It seems good at first, but I wouldn't trust these people with anything. I had a 10 am appointment at the Bridal Boutique on Wednesday morning. When we entered the store, a man was on the phone. He informed us that Taylor, our consultant, was running late; she arrived about 15 minutes later. The store was poorly lit and just seemed old. The beige carpet is in serious need of replacement/a steam clean. We looked through dresses and were disappointed by the selection. There were only 3-5 that I tried on, and none were great. Though the sample dresses in most stores were too big for me, I swam in these samples. Even with Taylor pulling the dresses tighter, I could not get a good sense of what they would look like in the correct size. read more

This a review for a friend without a Yelp. Like others, this is a review for the alterations department not the front of the house. Her experience selecting a dress was lovely she said, it was everything that came after. I served as a her day of coordinator for one of my best friend's wedding. She purchased her dress, paid in full in November of 2012. It took a while for the dress to come in but once it did she had three alteration appointments and NONE of the alterations were complete. On October 4th, a mere few days before her destination wedding, they were still struggling to complete her alterations! On the wedding day we discovered a huge flaw in the bustling of the dress. This very heavy train was supposed to be held by one button, which ripped during the reception. Can you imagine the feelings of a bride with a ripped dress on her wedding day!! We ended up having to grab a needle and thread to sew the train to the dress. What a mess! She looked lovely in her pictures, but all the problems before and during the reception caused her a lot of stress. I'd never wish that on any bride. The only tears on a wedding day should be ones of joy! The fact that the staff was delightful in helping her choose a dress is not a consolation if said dress rips at the wedding! read more
