I wanted to celebrate my husband's passing of the NY State Bar exam with some of our friends somewhere that had a good vibe and good eats. As he is originally from the South Bronx, The Bronx Public seemed perfect. I had originally planned to make it a private event and was working with their coordinator, but because some of my guests were not sure If they could make it on time kept it as a dinner reservation under the minimum for a private event. The DJ, the vibe, the food, and service were on point. Everyone had a great time and we were talking about how we may have found a new spot to hold other celebrations. However, 2 stars as I opened my email to find that the event coordinator and possibly other employees had accidentally hit reply all to a conversation about my party. I understand the need to let off steam, but, first off, please double check before hitting reply all. That, and I don't know how I feel about patronizing a place that may have email threads discussing their clients. Thank you for a great time, but please be more professional. read more

Service was decent we got seated away at 12:30.. tables are cramped so you will be sitting close to others very close.. Tip #1 DON'T GO HERE HUNGRY Ok you can only have the seats for 2 hours per table so others can dine which seems reasonable eat for dining right ? So everything is going good I ordered the biscuits as an appetizer since the drink were flowing... (glad I did it's the ONLY things I got to taste )get the biscuits they were home made warm and came with a brown-sugar cinnamon butter was pretty good. So we ordered our main course like at 12:40. We NEVER got our main course it's 2pm by now ? The table next to us got their plates one by one in 10/20 minutes intervals so one person got to eat while others watch?? It takes and 1 1/2 hour more to make chicken & waffles ? Come on this was insane we starved on this visit and couldn't take it any longer we left. So idk if the food is good because it never came out the kitchen. BTW we took an Uber here so my bf & I can drink & not drive Uber cost me $58 round trip ..on food I didn't get a chance to taste !! I just love that there are so many great food places in the Bronx now. The Bronx public is definitely one of them. I go for the food, drinks and great service. There is also music and a fun atmosphere. Different varieties of bar games are available. The restaurant is decorated with Bronx memorabilia, including hip hop facts. I visited The Bronx Public today. My waiter was Lucas. He took our drink orders right away. Our drinks arrived in a matter of a few minutes. Our food order was swift also. He remembered the little details as well. I ordered the garlic chili wings and a basket of fries. The sauce on the wings was definitely more sweet than spicy the way I prefer. The fries were crisp and lightly salted. This is probably my 6th or 7th visit. I will definitely go to the Bronx Public again. read more

I came to this place for brunch and it was good. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles and bottomless brunch. My friend and I were super surprised at the big cups we got for bottomless brunch and how strong our mimosas actually were. I'd def recommend brunch! We could barely do 3 cups because of how strong they were which isn't a bad thing! The chicken and waffles were delicious but more warm than hot. I guess if I go next time I'll make it a point to mention I'd want it served hot. Coffee was crappy so I wouldn't recommend that unless you need coffee as I did. The bathroom had a vacant lock switch which I always appreciate! It annoys me when I have to knock or try to open the door and guess if someone is inside. Something small like this makes all the difference. I made a reservation for 3 at 12 pm on a Saturday and we got there maybe 10 minutes early. They sat us down right away in the back area which was empty when we got there but then a large party came and took the rest of the room. The restaurant itself is pretty spacious and light. I'd come here again and would recommend to others. If you're going on the weekend you should opt to make a reservation to be on the safe side. read more

I came with my girlfriend and we decided to play Giant Uno, which I proceeded to kick her a** in! We went on a Sunday evening and the atmosphere was very chill. As an appetizer, we ordered the nachos. They were good but not great. It tasted very similar to a sloppy Joe. The nachos come with chili, cheese, sour cream, and some jalapenos. If I were to get it again, I would try to substitute the chili for chicken. I ended up getting a cheese burger, which I topped off with a fried egg and bacon. It tasted fresh and cooked to medium (how I like it). The pickle it came with was my favorite, had the perfect crisp bite. I can see this place being fantastic for large groups. The reason I'm giving it three stars is because the place just felt didn't feel very personal. Brunch was bomb! I went on cinco de Mayo andnit was great. So glad I went. It was just my sister and I. The wait was 45 mins but it only took 10 mins to seat us. This place is a party. The sangria was also very good! The only drink I didn't like much was the strawberry mimosa. Loved that there was fresh strawberry pulp inside but it was too sour! I have heard great things about this place and was really excited to have some food and drinks. However, I am firm believer of if you don't like people, don't work in the service industry. The hostess who was there today was awful. She was sitting inside with her back towards the door instead of outside and was extremely uninviting and rude. She communicated that since we didn't have a reservation, we would have to wait which was completely fine, but she did not take our name or number. However, when other people came she took their name and number to text when a table was available. She whispered something to a waitress who then looked at us. This made us very uncomfortable. We waited for about 20 minutes with absolutely no update and one word answers before deciding to leave and go to another bar. This establishment should consider putting someone else at the front of their restaurant that actually wants peoples business and knows how to speak to customers. I would love to come back when that hostess is not there so that I can adjust my review to encompass more of what this restaurant offers. read more
