We go to The Brook every few weeks! The food is great every time we go. We usually get the buffalo wings, French fries and the nachos. The nachos are a huge portion that can be shared amongst 3-4 people. It's a great value, it's homie inside and the staff are so attentive and nice. read more

This place is the best! My boyfriend and I live about two miles away and try to make it as much as we can. It's our go to restaurant, we absolutely love all their food and they make great drinks! Try the chicken sandwiches, chowder, burgers, corn dip (special app), or honey hot wings! Get the plain fries- incredible. Better than expected! I've been here a few times in the past and was not impressed, but my most recent visit changed my mind... My husband and I came here on a Saturday afternoon to watch a sports game as they have a huge bar and TVs everywhere. I ordered the fish & chips. It was excellent - large portion size, great batter and perfectly fried. The fries were exceptional too! Tasted like fresh hand-cut potatoes, well-seasoned and addicting! I couldn't stop eating them even when I was full. My husband ordered the brook platter which is steak tips & chicken tenders. He loved that he didn't have to choose one or the other. We ordered from them through Uber eats for the first time and were very disappointed. We ordered bone in wings-half buffalo, half lemon pepper, boneless wings - half sweet chili, half lemon pepper, and fries. The order came wrong. We received no buffalo wings. Then, the portions were so small for the boneless wings! We recieved like 7 tiny pieces for 15$! The bone-in wings were undercooked and pink with blood... had to try to air fry them only to burn them the more they cooked because they were already coated in sauce. We ended up tossing all of the wings so 16$ down the drain. Overall this 40$+ meal in the economy was trash and not worth it all. Attached is a pic of the pink chicken. So hubby and I went back. Figured it's been a while and traffic was terrible. We sat at the bar without a wait. I have to believe that traffic had something to do with it being so quiet. There are normally no seats at the bar on a Saturday night. We had a great bar tender. I'm sorry I can't remember her name because she really did make the night so enjoyable. Hubby had the wings that he thought were great. I had the street corn dip-appetizer which was more like a meal. Literally a life saver - I work late and all other kitchens in the area were closed by 10pm. They have much later hours for their standard menu, and one of the bartenders told me about their late night menu til midnight as well. The prices on everything were very reasonable and the food was great. I got a grilled cheese and soup and it filled me up. I was very happy to see the soup was steaming when it came out- meaning the kitchen follows good handling practices, it both it and the grilled cheese were delicious. The bartenders were both super attentive, made me feel welcome, and very nice. I easily found a seat at the bar on a busy Saturday night, and didn't have to wait long to be served. I was there almost an hour and 15 minutes when I finally got my food... but they are lucky because the food was very good, and i who's recommend getting the French Fries they are excellent. A downside the KIDS mac n cheese was spicy??? You don't give kids spicy foods, in general it was still spicy for anybody... it must have been pepper Jack cheese but you shouldn't use that on any Mac N Cheese... it's a disgrace to the Mac N Cheese creators. Came here on a whim while in the area recently. Sort of looks like a hole in the wall from the older style exterior, but was a surprisingly great restaurant! Remodeled interior design, clean, spacious, new. Great food, great service and overall great experience here. There are very few decent eat in restaurants in the direct Holbrook area, so this is a good option for lunch or dinner, even for large groups. Large eat in area, away from the bar, and lots of high top seating at and around the bar area as well. Plenty of large television screens around the restaurant. Friendly waiters and waitresses, and prompt service in general. There is no bread, but in our party of five, everyone's meals came out very quickly. Didn't seem like we were waiting for long at all. Menu is not huge. It is composed of typical American fare, burgers, soups, salads, sandwiches, etc. The burger deal for Monday's is fantastic, where burgers are only $5 (or something around that). And both the burgers and onion rings were filling and flavorful. I have no problems with this restaurant and would do nothing but suggest it to others. I stopped by A few days ago. I've had this place on my south shore list to try for a while now and I'm sad to say that it was just ok. There are many positive things about this place and few negatives. I'll start off with the positives. As someone else mentioned in their review this place is HUGE! They are not lacking for space at all. They have enough space to even have a dart nook, which I really enjoyed. The bar area was a great size. There were about 4-5 groups/pairs sitting at the bar and it didn't feel cramped at all. Now speaking of the bar, I was a big fan of my bartender- I believe her name is Ashley. She was super pleasant and made all our drinks to perfection. Now for the food. I wasn't too impressed by the food. I tried a couple things from the menu and they were all just ok. Out of every I tried I enjoyed the fish tacos and buffalo wings most. I also had an order of the loaded mac and cheese. Prior to ordering the mac and cheese the bartender told me it was a popular order and don't see why. It was lacking in flavor, which truly surprised me. I've never had loaded mac and cheese that was bland. I won't go back for the mac and cheese but I'll definitely go back for drinks and enjoying the space. read more

I've only been here twice, but on both occasions the food was good. The first time was maybe about a year ago and the other being more recently. They have specials daily which is pretty nice if you find something you're interested in ordering. I ordered the veggie burger the other week and enjoyed it. I even had enough for leftovers which I never do for burgers, but I figured I could pair the patty part over a salad for next day's lunch. All in all, I would dine here again. read more

We ordered loaded fries with our beer, the cheese on the fries was extremely questionable, it looked like can-cheese, (it was very watery) it tasted horribly. Fiancé got food poisoning from eating 2 fries. Its a good place to go for beer, and to watch a game because its fairly quiet on Saturday night, avoid food at all cost and don't expect to get fast service, it took us more than 30 minutes to waive down our waitress to ask her for a check because again, she was the only waitress there. read more

Finally made it to The Brook in Holbrook last night with some friends. Overall, a great place. However, the server treated me like a 2nd class citizen. I told her about a food sensitivity when we ordered drinks to which she replied she would check with the chef. She then came back to take our order and had totally forgotten so my friends had to wait a few more minutes. Also, when she asked who wanted boxes to take home food she only brought back boxes for my friends but not me even though I had said I wanted a box. One of my friends even said something to me about it. While I could eat less than 1/3 of the menu items, I settled on a delish garden salad with chicken and shrimp along with chops and dip since I was starving. 2 salads and 2 apps... came out several minutes apart. Barely done with apps and the entrees came out... several more minutes apart. It took her at least 6 trips to bring 7 meals and a side. Food was delish and service for my other friends was great. I will consider going back again as there were a couple of other items I could have that I might try. Definitely more of a pub than a restaurant. We were seated at a cool high top table, however, several of my friends were uncomfortable on the wooden stool seats with no back support.
