I ordered chicken wings as a take out from The Brown Dog on the phone. The person taking the order asked me what kind of sauce did I want and I then asked "what do you have" and she then asked "what flavor do you want?" Came here with a friend because he says it's his favorite spot. It's a vibe! If you like beer their is an assortment of craft beers on tap with lots of diversity. Staff is really attentive and friendly. It's been a long time since servers made me laugh in a restaurant and they had me going. Food was on point! Full of flavor and tasted very fresh. To top it off digested really smooth. Which I noticed in this area it isn't common even if you order a "healthier " option. Definitely would recommend coming here to check it out and get the tacos! Very rude people. Dark , dingy place with miserable staff. To many places around to be treated like your a burden for coming in for lunch.

We decided to stop by and try something new. The outside is deceiving but once you walk in the ambience is nice pub atmosphere fairly nice size. The servers are really friendly and accommodating. Friday night around 7:30. Service was friendly and fast. The vibe was chill and laidback. Food was delicious. We had fried mushrooms, onion rings, and tots- all hit the spot, but my favorite were the mushrooms. Next time I'm going to try the cheese curds. We had the mushroom burger and the special, and both were delicious, but the mushroom burger won overall. If you are up for something sweet and have time to sip, the lychee mead and ube mead were quite tasty and unique. The lychee was my favorite. Visiting the area from out of state. We wanted bar food/casual fare and found Brown Dog. It was a very chaotic visit. The restaurant was half full when we came, so not super busy. We had 4-5 servers at our table through out the night, and it was never clear who was actually our server, but it was clear that there was little no communication or thought on how they run the show. Appetizer took nearly an hour to show up, to go box after paying the bill took 30 minutes and we ended up just grabbing one ourselves from behind the bar. Just things like that over and over. Two of our meals were not as ordered, which was not a deal break, but noticed. Overall the BLT was great, as was the build your own salad. Pretzel, fried pickles, and French fries were disappointing. If I lived locally I could see this being a solid to-go place for bar food, but otherwise I'd probably skip this place. read more

We were wandering around Palm Coast (visited Sherry's Art Studio and a couple of antique stores) and decided to stop for a quick lunch. The Brown Dog had good reviews (and I mean, had a dog in the name!) so ended up there. So glad we did - a really cool little place, great service, friendly employees, and the food was fresh and delicious! I had the "Fungus Amongus" burger on a croissant with sautéed mushrooms and homemade garlic aioli - so good! Hubs had The Bird Dog chicken sandwich and fries - he asked for hot sauce (as always ) and had the Dragon's Breath sauce which he said was not only hot but also flavorful! He liked it so well he got a bottle to take home! They have a great selection of beers and offer a different burger of the month every month (December was the Krampus burger - it looked amazing - check the pics!). Great owner and server. And you gotta love a place named The Brown Dog where the saying on the WiFi password is "sit, stay, drink!" read more

My sister landed in Florida and wanted to try your restaurant. She took my mom and husband there for a meal. Your burgers I was told were fantastic, however, the server was beyond rude. Never brought the appetizer that was ordered to table at all. Asked for a glass of ice, had to ask three times. The third time she was asked for ice, her answer was " well do you want your food hot? or do you want the ice? So sad, it's no wonder why people do not want to go eat in restaurants anymore. Stopped in tonight for something to eat while I was down the street. Small place but nearly every table was full. They have a large list of peers on tap as well as cans and wine. I wasn't able to drink but seemed to have lots of local and a good variety. Menu is what you would expect in burgers, wings, tacos, etc, but also have salads and a lot of sides. I opted for the Whiskey Richard burger at the suggestion of the server and it was great! Nicely seasoned patty cooked to order with a really nice whiskey BBQ sauce and lots of good toppings. The bun was not a cheap quality but a nice toasted that held up well even with the sauce and juice from the meat. I upgraded the fries to onion rings which were excellent! They are lightly battered and cooked just until done so they don't have that greasy taste and feel and the onion and batter really shine. Not sure what the sauce was that it came with but was really great with the rings. Has a good amount of spice but no so much you can't eat it. They seemed to have a good number of regulars coming in which always tells me good things. Service was good. Staff were staying busy but share the tables so you never wait long. We are new to the area and after a long day of unpacking boxes dropped in to order a to go. I have a medical service dog and we were scrutinized from the second we walked in. Took too long for someone to acknowledge us and ask for our order. But someone finally dropped menus off at our table and tried to push us to order alcohol. We don't drink, so we refused and my husband got a tea. Before we even placed our order they asked about my dog and asked us to wait outside after we placed our order. I kindly showed his "credentials", but I was beginning to feel the hate. It's 57° and that's cold in Florida! There was NO ONE else on the patio. Gee, I wonder why? Maybe because it's too cold to sit outside tonight! And it was taking forever to get our order. A guy came out to say he didn't mean to make us uncomfortable. I think they forgot about us, because we had been there a good 20 minutes already if not longer waiting in the cold. If there had been no other tables and ppl were coming in, I would have understood not taking up a table waiting on a to go. After a conversation, he finally admitted that the reason we were asked to sit outside was because of the dog. He said they have a lot of ppl bringing in dogs claiming they are service dogs. (I do not doubt that ppl do that.) I offered to show him the training papers (credentials) which I carry with us. He said, Service dogs don't have credentials. If you have had your dog trained, you have proof to offer. Our trainer issued a card and papers, so because he is not a typical service dog breed, we carry his training papers as well, because some ppl are ignorant. If you have a service dog, understand this: Yelp says they welcome dogs. Only on the patio though. Service dog or not, you sit outside. You will be sitting with the smoke from the smokers wafting in and choking you. He then said our food would be out in a few minutes. 20 more minutes later we put $3 on the bar with the tea glass and left. He ran outside saying here's your food, on the house! No, thank you! It's obvious they don't want our business or anyone else with a service dog. We will not be coming back. Ada.gov states that "Establishments that sell or prepare food must allow service animals in public areas even if state or local health codes prohibit animals on the premises." They are attempting to skirt this by claiming that putting us on the patio was completely within the code; however,we all know that be it inclement/uncomfortable weather or not this should not be looked upon as acceptable and is discriminatory. read more

Have eaten here for both lunch and dinner since they opened, other than the Covid period. Food is always good, although portions seem like they have shrunk? I could stand a bad meal, but I cannot stand bad service. Service at the Brown dog just seems to be getting worse and worse. The bartender is knee deep in customers and people I assume are owners/managers are just standing around in the corner of the bar ignoring the situation. They never seem to have enough help when things get really busy. Probably time to find another place to go and not get ignored or feel like the help is doing me a favor for waiting on me. read more

A nice, cozy bar restaurant that seems to be a local hangout. Extensive beer selection and comfortable laid back atmosphere. The menu has just the right amount of appetizers and entrees for a lunch menu. I chose the Classic Burger medium well and it arrived with a perfect char, not greasy nor dry for a medium well. The burgers are hand crafted and I couldn't make a better one at home. Seasoned fries were crispy with a perfect ever so slightly spicy seasoning. My husband ordered The Dog which is a fried chicken sandwich with a side of Onion Straws. He loved his entire meal. I tried the onion straws and next time, I'm ordering that!!! Crispy battered mild onions fried to a golden brown. Can't wait to return and try some of their other offerings! read more

Terrible service I had to get up multiple times to get a refill on my drink and others at the table. The servers personality was rude to begin with and when we were ready to order food we were ignored. When we finally got our food no one came back around to check on us. We got the wrong side and the server argued we were wrong that we had to bite into it to prove it. The food is average nothing impressive. We found this place randomly by doing a quick google search as my fiancé requires gluten free options and boy are we glad we did, it has a great local atmosphere as well as affordable pricing.
