Patio seating looking out to the center of the village

We popped into Turtle Shack for an easy Saturday night dinner, and it ended up being one of those "mostly good, one miss" meals -- which happens, even at spots we enjoy. Daniel ordered the evening special, a Stir-Fry ($25), and unfortunately it just didn't deliver. It was very rice-heavy with only a small amount of meat and veggies, so the portion didn't feel worth the price. The Thai-style sauce had an off flavor, and as he ate, a faint burnt taste came through -- almost like the bottom of the pan had scorched and the flavor carried through the dish. Not terrible, just disappointing. Daniel said he'll stick to the dishes he already knows and likes here. Ella stayed loyal to her usual Turtle Shack Chicken Sandwich ($17). She's picky, and this is the one menu item she consistently enjoys under $20, so it remains her go-to. I ordered the Bacon & Blue Chips (about $14), which were still a win. Shareable portion, plenty of blue cheese, and that balsamic drizzle is chef's kiss. Easily the highlight of the night. Service was casual but attentive, which fits the vibe. Even on a busy Saturday evening, we were seated right away. The relaxed outdoor atmosphere was ideal for dinner with our 14-lb Maltipoo. They do have indoor seating, but we've always chosen outside -- the weather and courtyard energy make it an easy yes. Live music in the center of the Village added a nice touch. Parking at European Village is usually easy, but expect a short walk. You can drop off closer if needed, but one way or another, plan on a little stroll into the courtyard and to whichever spot you choose. We've been here many times and we'll keep coming back -- it's the kind of casual place where even your dog settles in like a local. Just maybe skip the stir-fry special next time. And if you haven't explored European Village itself, it's worth the wander: American, Indian, Italian, and Japanese/Sushi options, plus boutiques (clothing, jewelry, art), bars, and even a cigar lounge.

What!!?? A cool little place hidden in the center of a condo complex !!? Love the vibe, the happy employees , the tunes & the food!! We just stopped for a snack .. had a beer ( which due to their extensive list took awhile) and we ordered the smoked wings & calamari! Both were excellent !! The calamari is thick & tender & looks like French fries ... do not let the look deceive you .. it's tender & amazing! Who knew calamari didn't have to be eaten with tentacles and a rubber like texture!!?? Take a turn off the coast and come here!! You won't regret it..

They have now opened a temporary location at the European Village next to the 5th Element Indian Restaurant in Palm Coast. I think there used to be a distillery there. This location will be open until the repairs are completed at the original location on Flagler Beach and may even become a 2nd location. Same original menu and the place was already getting packed!

Many family memories made at their old location on the beach! Can't wait to visit their new location next time we are in town.

My wife and I had dinner at the Turtle Shack in the European Village in Palm Coast FL the other evening. A few details why I give a 4 star rating. The picture attached should explain the first reason. Our food was out of this world good. Wifey had the blackened Mahi sandwich. Perfect cook on the fish and the seasoning was nice a spicy. I had their signature chicken sandwich. Loved it, love their coleslaw too !!!! Second reason for the 4 stars was our server/bartender Teresa. She was very busy but, very attentive !!!! Very good at her craft !!! Why not 5 stars then ????? We thought $13 for a glass of house wine was a bit much. Especially in our area. If the management sees my review perhaps you could re-think that price point.

Nice atmosphere, food was ok but was lacking in flavor. Would return, but would probably stick to appetizers and drinks. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Food was really great and service was top notch. I had some of the best fish tacos that I have ever had there.

Eclectic place with pretty good food…read more Mrs and I enjoyed dinner there recently. We shared the escargot and it was delicious. Mrs liked the lobster ravioli and I had a decent steak

**Where do I even begin?**…read more We were visiting from out of town and made a reservation based on the website, which looked like it promised a five-star dining experience with a side of class. Spoiler alert: the only thing five-star about this place was how fast we wanted to leave. The red flags started immediately. The "ambience" was giving post-hurricane garage sale. And then the owner--dressed like a retired Jersey Shore cast member with a sad top-knot ponytail clinging to its last follicle--yelled from across the bar, "Welcome to the best restaurant in the county!" That was the first of many lies. We were squeezed six people into a table for four, even though there were plenty of empty tables, which we assume were reserved for ghosts or maybe just the owner's ego. Alcohol selection? Oh, just the finest! We asked for the beer list and were told there were *two* options. When we inquired about wine, the sommelier (a.k.a. the same server who forgot napkins, silverware, and the will to live) said, and I quote, "Red or white." That's not a wine list--it's a personality test. We were handed four sticky, mismatched menus with half the items violently Sharpied out like they'd been caught cheating on a test. At this point, most people would've made a break for it, but not us! No, we stayed. Because we're the kind of people who touch the stove *twice* just to be sure it's hot. We ordered the ahi tuna, escargot, and baked brie. The tuna came out looking like four sad, paper-thin slices of regret. No seasoning. No garnish. Not even a pity drizzle of sauce. Just raw fish, alone on a plate, contemplating its life choices. It tasted like someone froze a fish stick in 1993 and just now remembered to serve it. The escargot? Imagine rubber bands soaked in lukewarm garlic water. Now imagine paying money for that. The baked brie? Honestly, I blacked out at that point so I can't even tell you. After this culinary fever dream, we signaled for the check. That's when the owner reappeared, pants unbuttoned (WHY?!), and said--and this is 100% real--"Did I pissed you off?" Sir, the only thing more offensive than your grammar is your restaurant. We smiled, nodded, and lied that we had somewhere else to be, mostly because we feared telling the truth would end in a full-blown Jersey brawl in the parking lot. Final verdict: Never going back. You shouldn't go either. Save yourself. Go eat a gas station hot dog. Trust me--it'll be better.

Today I was parked in the back parking lot with family when a car pulled up right next to us as we were loading up and appeared to be aggravated (there were other parking spots but decided to park right next to us). We waited for them to exit their vehicle and an older gentlemen exited and walked into the back of the building. There was a female possibly mid 40s that was still at the door of the car getting ready so I decided to back out of my parking spot to leave. The female then rushes in front of my vehicle as I am backing out and begins to yell at me and my family with my children in the car for simply backing out before she could go inside? . I rolled down my window to see what the issue was as I was confused, and her attitude was disgusting with a northern entitled attitude, and acted as if I should've never moved my vehicle until she went into the building as well. All of this with my two young daughters in the vehicle who were scared for their life. She then proceeded to the back door and entered the building. Not sure if employee or owner, but if this is how they treat people in the parking lot outside their business, I can't image how the service is inside. I will be letting everyone I know about the experience and do not recommend this place unless you want to get treated bad for nothing before you even go inside. I don't enjoy dining in at places where employees have no respect for the public they serve, especially what appears to be a family owned business. Please find somewhere else to eat.
