We had two old dogs who recently passed away - the sitters cared for them while we would go on vacation and they were always wonderful with our old dogs and we were always pleased with their great service and care for them. We had a wonderful experience with The Bryi's Pet Sitting service when having to leave for a week. I appreciated the flexibility in the number of visits/day and the options available for my two dogs and one cat. The sitter left a log of each visit for me upon my return, which included the arrival and departure times, status updates on each animal, what they were fed, if they had eaten prior meal, and even what their demeanors were during the visit. I thought that the price was fair, and was certainly less than it would have been to board them. In addition, I prefer to have my pets stay at home where they're comfortable instead of in a strange place. Briony came by for the initial visit prior to our family's departure, to acquaint herself with the pets, and took copious notes on each pet's individual preference with regards to feeding, walking, etc. I would definitely recommend this service to anyone who has to leave their fur babies at home. I felt that Briony and her staff took care of our pets as well as they would have taken care of their own. All charges were broken down and easy to understand. The rates when I used the service were $25/visit x 3 visits a day (there was a minimum of two visits/day, which is completely understandable). This total was for all 3 animals. There were some surcharges like an initial 'key pickup' charge of $10, and an 'early morning' charge of $5/day to ensure the first visit before 7am, but all of these were understandable. I think that the ability to customize your visits to include things like walking and grooming ensured the best possible experience for your pets. My fur-babies love everyone that comes to visit - they take care of my pets as well or better than I do! They always try to accommodate my last minute requests if my travel plans change and offer other great services. They bring delivered packages, the trash cans and pick up after the dogs. The Dog Trainer, Tracy, is fantastic - she is really a people trainer, because we are the ones that need to understand our dogs to help guide and direct them. They treat you like you are just a number. From day 1 I felt this way. Starting out they didn't want to meet me or my dogs in person to start services, they wanted just to collect keys and go. They finally agreed then charged me a $27 fee to come meet me! My front door was left open and my dogs got out and it took me almost 2 hours to reach someone bc they don't give out your sitters personal number. At first they wouldn't even let me talk to my sitter to see what had happened. The manager that called me could care less that my dogs had been left out accidentally and was like "oh sorry." My dogs could have been run over or lost but thankfully my landlord that lives nearby was putting his child in the car and felt something on his leg and looked down and it was my little 12 year old, half deaf dog. Everyone makes mistakes and I told them moving forward I wanted a number to call in case of emergency and they wouldn't do it so I said goodbye! I was also very unhappy with their 3 weeks worth of holiday fees starting Dec 19-6. I don't mind paying extra on the actual holiday and perhaps the day before and after but the fees are ridiculous. I've been a travel nurse all over the country and have used dog sitters and never have been treated this way! read more

Although the clients are generally happy with the service and treatment of their animals, the treatment of their employees is quite different. During my two year employment with the Bryi's I rarely asked off. The two times I asked off for funerals I was told it was inconvenient although granted the time off. The other times I asked off for a day here and there I always did so in a timely manner making sure no one else in my area was off. Two of the times I was given the day off but then asked to at least work in the morning because other sitters asked off after me and could not cover my visits. I eventually resigned and moved onto a place where I am treated like a human being. My husband continued to work for the Bryi's as a side job for extra pay. This weekend we had a family emergency that resulted in us losing one of our own fur babies. As soon as we realized the depth of the emergency my husband text in to let them know he was unavailable for all his visits. The Bryi's continually harassed him as we were talking with the vet on how we were going to move forward with our beloved fur baby. They wanted the file and keys ASAP as they put it so the visits could be done. It was not necessary to disturb us as all clients are to provide two keys to their house for instances such as this. My husband told them to figure it out several times but they in-considerably pushed the issue. They had broken their company policy and only collected one key from this client. We had to finally get a neighbor to go to our house and leave the file and keys for the company to come and retrieve. My husband has since resigned. Although the company may appear to be professionally run on the outside, it is anything but from the inside! read more
