Oh how I miss the former owners. Drop off was pleasant, but the odors coming from the inside of the…read morebuilding at that time were not so much (first clue). I decided to give the new owners a shot as it had been a while that we needed boarding (two nights). The experience was night and day - Rene and her staff went above and beyond to make our fur baby comfortable and our minds at ease. On the day of pickup, our pet was excited as usual, but there was something different this time. Her anxiety was pretty high. Our pet's belongings (blankets and bed) are in the wash (hot temp) as I type this because they smelled horrible. Our pet didn't smell that great either. She has been itching excessively as though she was exposed to fleas. I gave her an extra dose of her preventative flea med just in case. Needless to say, I won't be taking our fur-baby back.

She was always great about keeping us updated on how the pups were doing, sending pictures and contacting us if any issues came up or if they had any kind of questions. Our recent experience (end of July 2025) with the new owner was not good. Our dogs came home with kennel cough and very unhappy. We were never informed of any issues while we were gone, no updates, no communication at all. We found out when we went to pick them up. We will not board there again.

We came for the training and decided to switch to this place for vet services too. The Pet Resort…read moreis a Vet Hospital, boarding facility, groomer and dog training facility all-in-one. From the moment you walk in, it is apparent that all aspects of this business are top notch. Mr. Chris Hernandez is the on-site full time trainer. He offers several different training packages to match your needs and budget. We elected to do the board and train an intensive 3 week basic obedience class. Is it possible for the average person to train their own dog? Absolutely...but getting professional help from Chris will let you and your dog achieve far better results and much faster. I was able to teach my dog to sit, come and stay without professional help but what Chris does is take it to the next level...After three weeks with Chris, our 4 month old puppy is far more obedient than 98% of the adult dogs in our neighborhood. For example. I taught her to come (most of the time, especially with a treat or promise of affection), Chris taught her to come reliably...off leash...with distractions...at distance. Now she comes when I want her to not when she feels like it but its more accurate to say, she always wants to come when called. I taught her to sit on command...Chris taught her to sit until told otherwise - in our case, our 4 month old puppy will sit patiently in place for 45-60 minutes until she is released and it's taking basic commands to the next level of perfection that builds trust in the dog. Getting a dog to sit patiently, allows nervous strangers to come over, allows for me to accomplish chores without fending off the dog's playing and generally makes life for both of us easier and more rewarding. Necessary skills for times when distractions and failure to obey correctly and immediately could have dire consequences such as when you need to avoid an aggressive dog, you're dog ("SQUIREL!") gets loose and is near a street, you are hiking off leash and come across a deer. In addition to commands, Chris takes your dog to all sorts of places to experience new smells, sights and sounds and conditions your dog to behave when there are other animals, strange people. Take those examples and apply that level of conditioning to every command. Additionally, he teaches your dog, house and car manners and the sum total of all this training makes you more inclined to take your dog more places and have fun together safely. Is training cheap? No, but amortized over the life of the dog - well worth it. How do you put a price on obedience? I don't know but you can start with avoiding the cost of a Vet bill after being hit by a car because your dog didn't listen. (Pro-tip: If you board and train, you get free tech support for the life of the dog and when you board your dog and PR@SR, Chris will work with your dog as a refresher and address any little problems that come up after graduating the basic class.) After your dog has been taught, Chris teaches you how to continue reinforcing the commands and not sabotaging yourself or the training when you get home. If you are on the fence, call the Vet and ask to speak with Chris - he will make an appointment and you can get your dog evaluated for free, very laid back, no pressure - he'll just answer your questions and tell you how he can help.

We won't leave our baby just anywhere and we felt really good about this place. She is on meds and I am very picky about anyone other than my husband and I giving it to her. We came back a day early and she was a happy little girl! They had no trouble with her meds or feeding her. One tech was attached to her and she spent a lot of time with my baby! Who could not resist a 5 pound precious little girl! The price was actually cheaper because we came back a day earlier, we had gotten the big room with a tv, since she is used to our tv on at home. I will most definitely use Stone Ridge is we have to travel again, I have a really hard time leaving her but I trust she is well taken care of there!
