I've heard their breakfast was tasty and decided to give it a try ! I got the chicken fried steak skillet and a Bloody Mary. My skillet was delicious! It hit the spot. My drink was great too. The bartender was extremely nice and friendly. I sat at the bar and the service was quick and friendly. Definitely was a busy morning, the place was full and buzzing. Nice little spot definitely a hidden gem for food . I only had it once which was today and it was really good. Me and my fiancé both got the lunch special, it was a tenderloin and French fries. REALLY GOOD. Will definitely go back for the food again. The only thing that sucks that I noticed was horrible screen color on the tvs hanging on the walls and NO SOUND AT ALL on none of the tvs. If it's a sports bar let me hear what's going on with my favorite team..... also replacing the old tv would be nice.. going back sometime throughout the week considering it's close by, for some food and a cold one ! read more

Awesome customer service. The host/waiter is super friendly and welcoming, makes you feel like you're at home!! The food is finger licking good! The fried chicken is perfectly cooked and so juicy. The sides pair so well with the chicken you'll never want to eat chicken anywhere else. The friday chicken sandwich special was also amazing and came highly recommended and it didn't disappoint! I have eaten here/done take out several times and have always been happy with the food. I've tried the burgers, sliders, tacos, philly, fries, onion rings and chicken strips. I recently had the chicken philly without a bun and it was very good. It's above average bar food in my opinion. While traveling back to Chicago from a Denver our overnight stay was in Council Bluffs. We were set to arrive at the dinner hour. Being totally unfamiliar with the area, I looked to Yelp for suggestions. 3rd Base had really good reviews so we headed there. Upon our arrival we were surprised to find it in a small ranch home style building in a residential area. We figured, why not? What a pleasant surprise. The place reminded me of the family "shot and a beer" place with great food. The gal waiting on us couldn't be friendlier and the food was awesome. We had the ribeye sandwich with grilled onions, mushrooms and plenty of melted Swiss cheese. I took off the top piece of bread as I felt it unnecessary. The steak was perfect with great flavor. The hand made onion rings were quite good too. Our server suggested their special sauce for dipping and I'm glad we did. If you're looking for some place fancy, this isn't it. If you're looking for a really good meal in a family like atmosphere, this is it! We even got a beer coozie to take home. Thank you 3rd Base for a nice dinner! read more

My husband and I were hungry for a good burger and a beer. We read they had the best burgers in Council Bluffs. This was our first time here. I had a mushroom swiss with onion rings. My husbans hsd the Bbq bacon burger. The mushroom swiss was very good. Fresh mushrooms. Loved that. The bacon burger had several slices of bacon. Burgers were juicy and flavorful. The fries were ok. A little too done as well as the rings. The kicker sauce is really good as was the cheese sauce. Very helpful and friendly server. Super clean and fresh. This was our first experience here. We stopped by for lunch on Sunday afternoon and we were the only patrons there. I got the hangover special, which was hash browns, biscuit, gravy, two eggs, and four strips of bacon. All for $6! It was greasy goodness. The biscuits looked homemade. The gravy was seasoned well, and the strips of bacon were thick-cut. The service was prompt and friendly, but again we were the only two in the place. They have a really nice set up with TVs if you want to watch a sporting event. They also have darts. They have happy hour Mondays-Fridays 3-6 where you can get a burger or sandwich and fries for $5! I liked this place originally but then it started to become worse and it did not get any better. First and Foremost: One of the bartenders is not a likable person. She needs to learn customer service big time and she definitely needs to have a better attitude and learn manners. There are quite a few times I decided not to tip less than normal or not even tip at all. Why? Because of her attitude. ADDING MORE ON THAT: Tipping isn't required, it is earned. It is not against the law or in any company policy that a patron has to tip. The only way a restaurant, bar, or establishment of any tipping industry, will require either of the these two. 1. If you forget to pay and you leave your card at the establishment no matter what the reason is. The next day you come back and the tip as stated by the establishment if they say it on any sign in their establishment saying 'There will be a 20% or 25% tip for any debit cards left behind'. 2. Having a party of 7 or more PER COMANY POLICY RULES and REGULATIONS. Not all restaurants, bars, or huge events do this. There is some that do and many more that do not have this policy at all. Second: Karaoke Is Terrible. If you are thinking about karaoke here. Do not come. Completely terrible. Not lively at all and not a big venue to even karaoke in anyway. Third: If you are claustrophobic, don't come. You will get triggered. I don't have that but anyone who does suffer from it (my aunt included) don't come. Fourth and Finally: The Walk Off Home Run Statement. Too expensive. Don't waste your time here. read more

Pretty good dive bar went on a Wednesday service was fast, food was hot. Got garlic Parmesan wings with cheese curds, curds were awesome garlic parm sauce was ok would try Asian or probably one of the sweeter sauces maybe house sauce. Great prices and the place seemed very very clean! Will be back again as it is local to me and I get a cheese curd tooth every now and then haha. Cook came out to ask if food was good and that was awesome that's never happened to me before that I know of. read more

This is a neighborhood bar with super nice people and great food. We had the mac and cheese bites with spicy ranch with a BLT and onion rings. The food was really good! The BLT was very tasty with lots of bacon. The onion rings are homemade with a light crispy batter. We look forward to another visit so we can try the hand-pattied burger! This is a great sports bar with fantastic food. I am in town for the Sweet Sixteen / Elite Eight Basketball tournament. I went to the Union Pacific Museum and was ready for lunch. Found this place and decided to try it. I had chicken sliders and fries, very good! The beer is cold and sports on the many tv's. read more

Stopped in here with some friends on a Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere was cozy and they have several TVs for watching sports. The service was exceptional! The waitress asked if we'd eaten there before and when we said no she took time to highlight some things on the menu. She was very attentive, checking on us frequently, and made friendly conversation. I think I'd venture to say she was the best waitress I've ever had! Also, the food was amazing! I had the steak philly. The meat was tender and had great flavor. My hubby had the California burger which he said was awesome, and so big he had to bring half of it home. We also had nachos and their homemade onion rings for the table, which were both super yummy. The kicker dipping sauce for the onion rings was so good. They should consider selling it by the jar! We were very impressed and will definitely be going back. read more

Super attentive staff and friendly locals. Even the cook came out to check how we enjoyed the meal. Excellent wings, best cheese curds - on par with the Wisconsin state fair! Juicy chicken breast sandwich. And hands down the best value for a rib eye out there. Midwest doesn't get better or tastier than this ;) Don't be shy when you pull up to the small building. It's recently remodeled. Lots of board games, nice big wall of tvs and darts for entertainment. Great food and great people. Stop by 3rd base before you head home! read more

Girlfriends and I from out of town found this local hangout on YELP and came to check it out for karaoke and although it looks like a double wide from the outside the inside is remarkably modern and clean. We were really hungry after coming downhill from the mountains of Colorado and this was the right place to come meet our needs for great food. This is an amazing, family oriented bar & grill during the deal with a great tasting menu. Wait staff is incredible with service and attitude. The environment is clean and well taken care of. Well lit and clean bathrooms. Parking lot is small and could use some repair but there is ample street parking. Solid dive bar with plenty of TVs and friendly staff. Their happy hour is a great deal, featuring a lot of options for $5. I ordered the pork tenderloin with fries. The pork itself was good, but the breading was a little soggy and bland. My GF had the po boy, and felt the same way about her fish. She had the onion rings, which tasted bland, but where made in house. We also had the cheese nuggets app, which was okay, but some of the cheese curds hadn't melted and were still a little too solid. For the price, you can't really complain. We both will give it another shot and try different things. read more

What a total surprise! And it's a real baseball throw from where I live. Lunch time and didn't feel like driving across the river for things I thought to be better. So a very short drive (very short) to 3rd Base. Menu was very small location oriented, but the items were several notches above that of a typical dive. Okay safe bet.... the sliders. And one of the each that we're offered with fries. Wow! These are sliders!!?? These were way beyond typical sliders. Huge! And loaded. And the taste was much like that of a very favorite burger place in Bellevue that has it's own following . Impressed with the fare the atmosphere is not as it appears from the outside. Quaint, comfortable and not at all noisy. Quick service and wait staff that is easy to approach and helpful with selection. By far this is beyond what I was expecting. This believe it or not could be a destination in itself because of the food and presentation. Unbelievable, but it is what it is. Good on you guys! read more

The person that brought it over asked if we needed anything else. , and we asked for an extra plate and a fork and knife. He quickly brought it all over, and we felt silly because we didn't see utensils were right next to the drink machine, and we should have gotten them ourselves. I apologized for missing it, but he was so polite and friendly and seemed like it was no big deal. We cut the burger in half, I started on the cold slaw (delicious), and then got to it. The burger was amazing. It was big, perfectly done, and completely hit the spot. The fries were also great. We didn't have long before we gad to get back to the hotel to get ready for the flight, and having already paid at the beginning, it was quick and easy heading out. I don't know if/when we will be back to Council Bluffs, but if we are, we will be back 100% for sure. Highly recommend!

This is not acceptable given the $16 price for a patty, two pieces of bread, a slice of cheese (which wasn't even melted) and some mushrooms. it also seemed that there were a little bits of onion in my mushrooms, which was strange because onions are not listed as an ingredient. Timeliness and appearance aside, the flavor and texture were good. Bathrooms were acceptably clean, and service was good as well. Had my burger been made upon ordering instead of seemingly assembled from a warmer like this was McDonald's, I would have had a much better overall perspective and experience. This place definitely has potential.
