I recently went to Glory Days to use a gift certificate. I sat at the bar. Ordered classic beef Philly sandwich & fries. The girl behind the bar was not attentive, only to the men that she knew drinking a beer. There was another gentlemen, 2 seats down, having sandwich and drinking water. This waitress ONLY talked to the two men that she apparently knew. She refilled the man's water and walked right past me. She did not refill my water until I was at the end of my meal. There was no conversation with myself or the man eating and drinking water. Now I use to eat at this place all of the time several years ago. IT USE TO BE VERY GOOD! Now, not much favor. The damn girl gave me a ketchup that was empty. She would of known by the weight of it. I asked for a different ketchup, she gave me one that still had the safety seal on it!!! This place needs a completely different person for the lunch crowd. Someone who can carry on a conversation with whomever comes in. Not just the younger men that come in that she knows that is drinking beer at noon. Unfortunately, I have a gift card for this place with plenty of money left on it. Next time I come in for lunch, I will make sure this girl is not there. AND, the food is NOT as good as it use to be. No flavor what so ever. read more

Glory Days Pizza Good day fellow acquaintances! I, Dylan Boyle, have come upon a place in this York, a great longhouse where I was told a man could get a hot meal. The place is called "Glory Days," and my belly did rumble, so I ventured inside. The food, they called it "pizza." It was a great, flat disc of bread, covered with a strange red paste and what looked to be hardened, melted milk. They had scattered bits of spiced pig upon it, and the whole thing was baked in a great fire. My God, the taste! It was an abomination! The red paste was sour, the milk was greasy, and the bread tasted of old shoe leather. The pig was so hard it could have been used to hammer a nail. I took but a single bite, and the taste of it soured my mouth for a full hour. And they served me a drink, too! They called it "soda," and it came in a great metal barrel. It bubbled and fizzed like a witch's potion, and it burned my throat like a hot coal. It was sweeter than a beehive, and made my teeth ache. I give this place but a single star. It is a place of false promise, and the food is a horror upon the senses. A man would be better off chewing on his own boot leather than eating this "pizza." And as for their "soda," it is a brew fit for the devil himself. We just ordered dinner on Grubhub got it and I have to say I wish we didn't. The burgers are 100% from frozen patties you get at Costco/ Sams club and you cook them from frozen. To make it worse you don't even properly season the burgers. They were mushroom and Swiss ; I swear it was mushroom and American. The fries we got are simply frozen fries; not even good ones. The wings we got - garbage might be too kind. The onion rings as the other side - hard; dry; nasty are all adjectives that come to mind. Thanks for being our last alternative on a Sunday night. You lived up to expectations. I'd literally never get food here again. It's not hard to pack a burger; season; have some thick sliced Swiss; some mushrooms in a beefy sauce that were sautéed; and hand cut fries go a LONG way. All of that is easy to do. I have been at this bar a few times and it's a pleasant experience every time I go. My most recent visit was last week when my friend and I wanted to grab a quick drink. I ordered a White Russian, (was simply in the mood for one), and they said that they didn't have any milk/cream. I've never been to a bar that doesn't have milk/cream. I just thought that was really odd. My friend and I each had a tall beer and I had a small glass of their Bulleit Rye whiskey. The total was $20.50. Pretty expensive IMO, but it was good. So - not a big bar food girl. But this French Dip was gourmet. It was by far the best French Dip I've ever had and the service was prompt and even keeled! Seriously, I can't express enough the french dip was to die for. read more

I am labeling this a partial, or half a review. Was there a few days ago for a meeting, in their upstairs room. The bar itself is a long narrow room, it's been a bar under several renditions for many years. Going in the front door there is first a door to the upstairs and possibly a storage area. A few feet in, the long bar is on the right. This is a very old style wooden bar. On the left are some also wooden tables and chairs. I didn't count, but my guess the tables hold maybe 30 people plus the bar. At the back are the restrooms on the right and the kitchen on the left. There are, I believe, 6 good sized TV's sitting above the bar and the hall into the kitchen area. Note, that there is a rear entrance onto to large parking area behind the frontage businesses. I don't know if they are licensed to have outdoor seating in the summer. The upstairs meeting room is very 'bare bones', but it was warm on a cool evening and well lit. A decent place for a get-together. They have several beers on tap, but as I was upstairs so can't comment on the variety. Sandwiches and pizza are the menu basics. I took 2 tenderloins home for dinner. I don't want to say too much about how they tasted as when we arrived home there were a couple of things that put off our eating. By the time we got to them, we had to re-heat them. My rating as a 4, is based on everything being good and even reheated the meal tasted good, remember it is bar food. I enjoy good bar food so this isn't a negative. The order was confused by the waitress, we asked for No pickles and extra onions, it was reversed. Fortunately, she checked before eating and fixed it as her body doesn't react well to pickles. Next visit will take the time to sit and enjoy. read more

Been a glory days customer since they opened we loved the power eye pizza big square peices price was understandable tonight I get my pizza to go and it's alot smaller the pizza says 17 my total was 21$ and everything about it was disappointing from the size how it's cut the chicken even taste different and the size is way smaller than what it use to be I will not be buying pizza from here again . read more

I can't believe there is not a review for this place. Well recently while I was in Iowa visiting my family I asked them where they wanted to go and get dinner. I told them anywhere they wanted and an older member of my family said "well lets just go to Glory days and get an open face sandwich and a beer." I was like I am down. This place has a good selection of beers and a few speacials. My family loves the steak philly snadwich which is covered in a gravy that I guess you can only find here. It is to die for. Another great thing about this place is that they have these video machines that you can shove your extra money into and if you winthen you can use the tickets to get free beer and food. I was almost addicted. If I lived around here I would definatly come back. Good space inside and some nice servers. P.S. They have sports on almost all the time. read more

Another day, another adventure on the Historic 100 Block where folks co-mingle -- not only with each other, but with their children if they want. Glory Days Sports Bar & Grill is a comfortable space in which to watch games with televisions lining the northeastern wall above the bar. Fans would be hard-pressed not to find that special sporting event in glorious high-definition technicolor as Glory Days boasts having all the sports packages. While decidedly a bar, the food options make it nearly as much of a small restaurant allowing for children until 10 p.m. (with a responsible adult) when the grill closes. I've been in Glory Days a number of times over the years. My (let's say tenth) high school reunion meet & greet was held in Glory Days upstairs party room. Make a few memories with your own bartender and enjoy the second floor smoking area out back overlooking the most spacious public parking lot not outside of a Chicago commuter rail station. Beyond the lot is historic Vine Street and just a few blocks farther beyond is the Black Angel, a popular destination in its own right especially around Halloween. Stare into her eyes, it's said, and she either tries to grab you, opens her eyes and/or you die instantly. Accounts vary. I visited Glory Days twice recently to get back up to speed. On tap, they currently serve Shiner Märzen-Style Oktoberfest from Spoetzl Brewery, Bud Light, Blue Moon, Angry Orchard, Surly Brewing Company's Overrated IPA and Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy. Enjoy one on their front patio. My first round on my first recent visit was a recommendation from Bartender Shelby, the Shiner Fall seasonal Oktoberfest ($4.25 a pint). This is Glory Days beer-of-the-month. Märzen's have extra Vienna malt and fewer hops for a rich harvest festival flavor. Accept no substitutes pushing caramel malt, that's just for color. Combined with their gyro sandwich special, I got out for $12.25 plus tip. My second beer was Surly's Overrated IPA, which hit all the right notes as I waited for pretty good Philly steak pizza to go. Also eye-catching were the crab Rangoon and Reuben pizzas. Maybe next time If you like stunt eating, try the Garrett McCowen All-World Burger Challenge. Just consume seven burger patties topped with seven eggs, seven slices of cheese, 21 pieces of bacon and a side of fries in one hour and not only is it free, they'll name it after you. Happy hours are from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. every day except Sunday when it's Happy Hour all day long. Mondays are $2 pints of Bud Light, Tuesday's are $3.50 pints of Bud Light. Wednesday buy one, get one for a dollar. Saturday get $14 buckets from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday is happy hour all day. Delivery is available weekdays from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. read more

Something was OFF about that place. I and two friends stopped in town for the night on a road trip and picked the first bar we passed for a few beers and a meal. Should've walked back out as soon as we encountered the loudest, most belligerent party of 7 I have EVER HEARD (place was nearly dead besides). Made it to the bar, got some serviceable beers and ordered burgers. Overheard the waitress mention to the cook that they were out fries. Thought nothing of it, thinking it would just take a few more minutes for the kitchen to make more. And then we got our food, and the fries were very clearly, very blatantly from McDonalds. As in, someone went down the block and got a bunch of cheap-ass fries from McD's and charged us $10 apiece for the privilege of rapidly-cooling garbage. The burgers themselves were fine, in that we'd been on the road all day and would've eaten fried flip flops so long as they came with ranch. Next time just say that you're out of fries. I went here to try the food and check out the atmosphere. The food was mediocre bar food. I was disappointed that the basket of fried mushrooms had a mix of very hot mushrooms and ones that were still actually frozen inside (but browned outside) which I don't have to tell you is really unacceptable. When my chicken sandwich arrived I double checked it to see that it was cooked well and it was. I rate the sandwich as just "OK" (big bun and tiny chicken, but was all white meat, not pressed or formed). It was served with a generous amount of fries that were cooked properly. It was a bit loud in there for a dinner crowd. It seems it would be a nice place for a few beers and to watch a game and/or for a general outing for drinks with friends. read more

Stopped by for dinner last weekend, and my GF and I were a little underwhelmed. We started with the fired pickles, which were chips sandwiched between 2 pieces of breading. I liked them, but my GF thought it was too chewy. She had the New Orleans wrap, but said it was bland. I had the Glory Days Philly, which tasted like meat thrown on a brick of cheese. (It felt like there was more cream cheese than anything else on the sandwich) Both of our meals came with fries that looked and tasted stale. They were room temperature when our food arrived, and got harder to eat as the meal went on. Overall we were both pretty disappointed, and most likely won't be back. read more

I went there for lunch a few weeks ago and for the most part, I was happy with my food. However, I was very disturbed to hear a woman in the kitchen screaming, cussing, and berating the other cooks in the kitchen. It was super inappropriate and awkward. It almost ruined my visit completely. Not including the female in the kitchen, I would rate Glory Day's 4 or 5 stars. read more
