I live in West LA and just recently got a place in the San Francisco as well. I was walking around the Union Street area and passed by The bud stop. My girlfriend loves roses, so I thought I'd get some for her. There was a White woman customer ahead of me who also was buying roses. We talked for a bit as she chose her flowers. She gave me some good advice on how to choose a good one as the owner was completely, attentively helping her. After about 5 min, an Asian woman walked into the store. The manager greeted her nicely and then went back to serving the customer previously described. After the owner rang up the customer in front of me. She ask the Asian woman who came in the store 5 min after I did, if she needed help and started to help her, completely ignoring me. I am a Black male. The Asian woman kindly told that I was here first and that she should take care of me. The owner begrudgingly complied and showed me the roses, but not with the attentiveness that she showed the White customer, as she was rushing me. She showed me the cheapest flowers, and when I asked about the the nore expensive one, she didn't even even try to upsell me. She also didnt try to sell me a vase for the flowers. When I ask about the vase, she pointed to the cheapest one. The car I drive in San Francisco costs over $100K, by the way, and I have an MBA, not that it should matter. The owner rushed me and then started ringing me up when the Asian woman customer pointed out that the leaves were brown and rose was torn and bruised. She told me that I couldn't possibly buy this for my girlfriend. What a kind woman. The owner was AWOL. After the customer found the best flowers for me, I asked the owner about a really expensive vase, but she kept on guiding me towards the cheapest pot. Normally, businesses want to increase the average sale. The owner then rushes me to the cash register. While she is wrapping the gift up, I infom her that I'm texting my girlfriend to make sure I don't buy a reduntant color. The texting took 30 seconds max. She immediately stops helping me and then helps the Asian customer. She takes her time with her, about 8 to 10 minutes. And finally she finishes up with me after she serves and rungs up the customer that came in behind me.. I spent around $100. For some reason the owner really wanted to skip me and did so repeatedly. She also kept on steering me to cheaper products. She rushed me and treated me very poorly, and ended up giving the worst flowers that was bruised. I am not a psychiatrist nor a mind reader so I can't tell you what was going on inside her head. But if I were to guess, I think this store is not used to having Black customers and would prefer that we do not shop there. I haven't been treated this poorly in a long time. The owner knew how to give good customer service, but she just didnt want to give it to me. In conclusion: great flower selection, great customer service if you have the right skin color. If you have darker skin, I would highly suggest you shop elsewhere. read more

FIRST I want to say the behavior from this employee IS NOT AT ALL WHAT THE NORMAL AT ALL BARBRA IS GREAT VERY DOG FRIENDLY SHE LOVE " HUSTLE" AND HE LOVES her also . This is his FIRST stop!! BUT... This is the 2nd time this flower person (YOUNG" tweaking " BLOND) that is there today, has freaked my dog out! This morning she threw the treat at my Dog!!! IT bounced off him into the street. I was besides my self, I could not believe what just happen. As I started to walk off . I felt my blood boil So I turned back and said I don't like the way you just threw that at my DOG! and I will be sure I speak to the owner about it. She replied( Good you do that) Go someplace else for your free hand outs!! Oh no she didn't. It was all I could do keep walking .. I did say it seems like now you and I have a problem. THAN I hear ( well ad it to the rest of your problems you look like you have). Now this was almost three hours ago and I am still BOILING . I have been on the phone calling everyone I know to stop business with the BUD STOP until this DOG HATER is no longer able to abuse our dogs .. I was not to shocked to learn that I am not the only pet owners in the area that has had issues with the same girl. Wow I have asked them to yelp a review also .. This is a great pet friendly neighborhood and if employees have a problem being PET FRIENDLY why hire them?? read more

Very disappointed. A two month ago my coworker recvd a really beautiful bouquet from the bud stop.  I called in my order directly, as I wanted to ensure the florist knew exactly what I wanted.  Unfortunately, the arrangement pictured online and the one that ended up being delivered to my girlfriend were two completely different products.  Yes, the flowers used were similar.. but the design was nothing close to what was pictured.  (The whole reason I ordered it in the first place.)  Worst part was I was charged a $15 delivery fee on top of the $50 flower fee, when my gf's work is LITERALLY one block from the flower shop.  Next time I guess I will forego the element of surprise and deliver them myself.   I called this morning to voice my complaints, and the " owner " was very rude.  That's fine, she will just lose out on all my future business and earn five minutes of my time via this review.   Very sad to have lost hope in one of our local florists in San Francisco . read more

Just like everyone else I bought into the bud stop's pictures and reviews. Decided to order their flowers for my sister. What a mistake!! The $90 bouquet I ordered plus the $15 dollar deliver looked like a bouquet from Walgreens. A $100 dollar flower order looked so cheap and sparse compared to what the bud shop said I bought. I understand the flowers might be substituted if they're out of stock, but didn't expect 3/4 of the bouquet would be missing as well. Yes, the site is beautiful and so is their Instagram pics. I admit I was lured in by their mission, their website, and wanted to support a small business. However, save your money and just order from FTD. At least you know what you're getting exactly from FTD. I wouldn't recommend the bud stop and say go elsewhere for tour flowers. read more

I have been coming to this cute little shop for a while now; I love supporting small businesses. However, I cannot stand with the behavior that is exhibited by a certain employee there any longer. A woman named Paige is frequently working there, and has always been incredibly rude to her customers without fail. She always has snarky retorts to simple questions and is altogether hard to work with. The last time I frequented the shop, I was eating ice cream OUTSIDE (6 feet apart). Paige's reaction was to remove me from the surrounding premises and refuse to accept business from me. I've held my patience together for. too long. This place is right by my work and I've made a habit of stopping by every Friday to pick up a fresh bouquet to bring home to my girlfriend. She is always amazed with how beautiful the flowers are. Generally, I don't like writing bad reviews. But today I feel the unequivocal need to. I waited a ridiculous half hour for the man working there to complete my arrangement today. I wish I could say that it was of exemplary taste, but alas. That was not the case. You could see that the leaves were eaten, and the color scheme made me almost nauseous. When I informed him of my concerns, he simply switched out three roses, and held a face of contempt and annoyance all the while. It was so very rude. I wasted $60 on garbage. I sent my cousin, who suddenly lost her husband, an arrangement based on their site. What she received is not only NOTHING like what I selected, it is ABSOLUTELY not even close to being a similar cost. Having spent years working in a family member's floral shop, it is unbelievable what was sent. This is completely unacceptable. And, don't give me the "substitution" excuse. These arrangements aren't even close. What was sent looks like it was pulled from a supermarket and thrown on a glass.  Very disappointed. read more
