I love stopping at the Buffalo Bar after a long day in Yellowstone. They have a large menu and several different drinks. You can find a Buffalo burger here as well. The Buffalo queso was delicious. The bartender was so nice and friendly! Come check out the bucking Buffalo taxidermy and western vibe. Cool spot!

The best nachos I've ever had. Every ingredient was fresh and super tender pulled pork. For $21 my husband and I were stuffed.

Cowboy Burger with fries - delicious; but couldn't finish it!

Popped in to enjoy the local culture (we live in West for the Summers). First time I tried their Bison Balls - they were excellent! The mushrooms gravy was perfectly seasoned. I found the bison balls over salted (I rarely use it); but my wife disagreed. Regardless, highly recommend. We have yet to get a bad meal or service whenever we stop in.

Loved this lively establishment in West Yellowstone. The service was quick and fabulous. The atmosphere is all things bison. The beer was cold and the food hot. Thoroughly enjoyed sharing the buffalo balls appetizer. It was a large dish with two large meatballs on top of mashed potatoes. They have some games including electronic darts. There is also outdoor dining. It was fun atmosphere with good eats. A nice place to unwind after a long day in YNP.

There is barely any restaurant in this small town that offers Bison meat entrees. As it is known to be different in the area compared to major cities selection of meat. The Buffalo Bar happens to be highly ranked as it will constantly be crowded during peak tourist season. Upon entering will be walked into a group of customers waiting for their table and name to be called. There are a good amount of table inside and have lots of tv for a good entertainment and enjoyment. Average wait time is typically 30 minutes plus during peak dining time. The servers are nice, provided the food and other necessities quickly. Attentive with water refills. The foods were presented well and they gave a good amount of food for the price. Worth eating here once.

This place is hoppin' yet service was timely and friendly. So much going on. From sports tv to casino machines, bar, and patio. Decor is rustic with taxidermic mounts of the local wildlife, buffalo in particular. The food was served hot and delicious! We ordered the cowboy bison burger and the fish and chips. I highly recommend the cowboy burger! Not too dry and bursting with flavor.

We were here on a Sunday after church with a group of about 12 who were seated in the area but not at the same table. It was busy and we had great service. There were 4 seated at our table and our orders were taken quickly and the food was delivered equally quickly. My husband had a Smothered Burrito with Carne Asada and I had Buffalo tacos because it's West Yellowstone and why not? I've never had buffalo before. It was similar to ground beef with a slight almost imperceptible gaminess to it, but it was delicious. Our waitress was really great (like reading our minds great). She refilled drinks without us having to ask and asked about take-home boxes when we were nearly done with the meal. I hope we can come back before we leave town.

This place was suggested by my brother, when he heard we were eating in west Yellowstone. Ordered the buffalo burger and wings, both were great. The wings had a very flavorful Huckleberry bbq sauce. Was great. My wife ordered the quesadillas, very filling, but good.

Great spot that even locals seem to love! Bit pricey, but the food and drinks were made so well you don't feel ripped off. Service was great too! Love the rustic decor!

Good bar in the little town. The buffalo meatballs were so delicious. The steak and burger were good.

When we pulled into town, this place was popping. We thought it must be good. So we dropped our luggage and came back. The place was still busy so we sat at the bar where we were greeted by Tanner. He was attentive and helpful. I had the huckleberry lemonade, my husband a local beer, and our daughter vodka soda. Everything here is huckleberry and I embrace it wholeheartedly, especially the vodka. We shared the nachos, which seemed a little pricey especially considering the cheese isn't real; more like nachos cheese. However, they are a good size. The ambiance is what you'd expect, wild animals amidst tv's. Being so close to the "closed season" choices are limited. I hear there are bands when the patio is open. It would be a great place if there was live music year round.

Walked in fire lunch the sign said find a seat. We sat at a high top which a group just left from and the waitress was quick to clean it off. It was a Saturday and they had several TV's playing college football. My husband was so happy. Warm and inviting atmosphere including animal heads hanging along the walls. Of course a Buffalo front and center. Waitress was very nice and service was great. We both ordered the barbecue chicken salad. One of the best meals we had in Yellowstone area. We had trouble finishing the chicken it was a full size breast sliced on top and juicy. Served with Texas toast and ranch dressing. It also had a nice outdoor patio with bar and live music at night. If you in west Yellowstone make sure to stop in you won't be disappointed.

Can they accommodate for a gluten allergy?

Yes they can and have items on the menu that are gluten free friendly

Do you have to be over 21 or is it family friendly?

You don't have to be over 21 but I don't see this place as a kid friendly restaurant. I wouldn't recommend ordering from the kids menu. It's not kid friendly.

Does the staff wear masks to avoid spreading COVID?

    Yes they do.

Old Town Cafe was our pick since it seemed to have a variety of different dishes, including options without meat, and the prices seemed reasonable compared to some nearby competitors. The ambiance is casual with two different dining rooms and a few seats at the bar. We both enjoyed our meals - the trout entree and the chicken bacon pesto sandwich. Nothing fancy but they did the job and had generous portions. The huckleberry lemonade, a local drink, was also a refreshing surprise that wasn't too sweet. I definitely recommend giving this a try if you want to try something unique to the area. I'm all about casual dining, especially after a long day of activities, but will note that the waitress wasn't the friendliest and approached our table and asked how we wanted to pay the bill (one check or split) while I was only half finished with my meal. I definitely left rushed to finish and ended up taking my dinner roll to go to eat on my walk out.

I get it, resort prices, convenience of eating in the Summit Lodge, trying hard not to complain about the $25 price, but it was just a limp cold burger. Fries? Also cold. I mean, the least they could have done, after recognizing the long time passed between making the meal and serving it, is refresh the fries, no? Cold greasy fries, cold dry overcooked burger. One star at any price. It's not like there's a shortage of burger options right at the Summit either. Am I going to complain that it was $75 for three burgers at our table? No, not if they were hot juicy Wagyu Cheeseburgers, but then, these were not.
