The beyond burger with onion rings
    Linda M.

Located on the busy webster st, parking is always hard to find. We managed to find something a block or two away in a residential neighborhood. We were seated right away, no wait. Only a few other diners inside. I ordered the beyond burger with onion rings. Onion rings were perfectly crispy. Beyond burger tasted good. No complaints from me! Service was quick and friendly, would come again!

Walking in, off top, the music was great. It really just complimented the ambiance. It's so cute, not too small, very clean, and I was surprised to see a bar! The food was really good! The Brussels sprouts were fire! My group really enjoyed everything we ordered! Our server was the sweetest! So attentive and welcoming! Definitely have to come back and try something else! Oh, get the lychee martini! It's DELICIOUS!

We came here when they first opened. Loved their happy hour from 3-5pm so we got to try a few plates. Loved their blue cheese hamburger! French fries we good! I think my son had a chicken Sammy. We left satisfied

Tried them for the first time. Very good, the place was clean, they were very nice, and the food came out quick. I would go back again!

I have eaten here a few times, once for take out and the rest eat in. Cute inside, small but plenty of seating. Even a few seats at the bar/counter. It is a bar, with some wine and beer options. I can't remember for sure but I do not believe there is hard alcohol. The food is their highlight. Fresh ingredients, plenty of options, and a menu with a fusion of American and Asian. I don't eat fish but I appreciate their variety of fish option. They were nice enough to allow me to substitute chicken on the salmon blue cheese salad, and they didn't over charge me. It was an amazing salad. My favorite part was they didn't use any ice berg lettuce. It was a similar to a Cobb salad but with green leaf, red leaf and arugula lettuce. Perfection. I ate every bite. They can be pricey, but for a fresh meal it's worth the splurge.

This is a quaint little burger place. They do serve lots of other things too though. The NFL game was playing so that was nice to be able to sit and eat while watching. The service was fast. We got greeted and seated immediately. I ordered the bacon blue cheese burger and it was probably the juiciest burger I've had in a really long time! For the sides that accompanied my burger I chose Parmesan fries (I would have liked more Parmesan flavor in them as it was on the lighter side) and coleslaw (so delish I could have eaten an entire bowl of it). We also ordered a grilled chicken sandwich (not pictured) and it was stacked and also delicious! Wr would definitely eat here again.

The standout for me was the service - our server was incredibly sweet and attentive. Even though it was busy on a Friday night, we were seated right away and our food came out quickly. My burger was delicious and very filling, and I ordered it with a side of onion rings. The batter was a bit thick for my taste, but overall it was a great experience, and I'd definitely come back to try a different burger.

Promptly seated with my bulldog, they do have two tables outside, but was able to bring my pup inside. Tried sitting away from other ppl just incase. Onion rings were absolutely the best!!! Burger was super tasty, service was attentive. Will definitely be back.

    4$ fries

Love this place, been here twice. The burger was very tasty and very reasonable. Burger was 16-20, if you add fries, it is 4$ with the very generous portion. They are not busy at all at 1130 am. I hope they are doing well. Only one cook and one waiter.

It's a nice place and the service was fine, but I wish we had a better food experience here. My husband usually enjoys his food. Even if he doesn't, he'll find something positive to say. He did not like the Louie Louie sandwich at all. He had a puzzled look on his face every time he took a bite. I guess it wasn't what he expected. I didn't care for the sweet potato fries. They were dry and tasteless. We both didn't like the calamari. A squeeze of lemon and the sauce couldn't save it.

Very cute spot! Staff are really nice! The place is not busy at all. Great options on the menu! I loved the clam chowder here! It was full of clams potatoes and bacon. Super thick and rich soup. I was really impressed and I'm picky with clam chowder. Fish and chips were good not the best I everhad. Light batter and not oily at all. The fish were smaller fillets- I'm use to big chunks of fish. Homemade tartar sauce was good! I usually hate tartar sauce bc other establishments put onions and I hate onions. I really likes their tartar sauce and siracha mayo Kids loved the garlic fries chicken tenders fruits and juice. Total $70 before tip. I would def come back!

I actually haphazardly stumbled upon this place a few months back after hanging out at a brewery…read morenext door. After scoping out the vibes of the place and the menu, I told myself to make sure to give this a shot. The place is in a redeveloped corner of Alameda right next to the bay. Probably used to be Navy base grounds back in the day. But now there's a couple of blocks worth of hip warehouse-y type of buildings, mostly restaurants, beer spots, some lofts and a little retail commerce. Very happening even though the surrounding area is a ghost town. Dining area not too big, maybe a couple of rooms that can hold about 20-30 heads each. Think there's another room for a private party/overflow. Decor pretty minimalist and stark. Service on the upscale side but in my stay, matched the decor, very minimalist and stark. Efficient enough but a little terse with little emotion. But I know service personality can differ from time to time or person to person. Just my obsy for one out. Daily Crudo ($20/4*) I think this rotates daily. Our choices that day was hamachi or a house smoked sturgeon. The sturgeon really piqued my interest but then it really wouldn't be a 'crudo' anymore would it, since I relate crudos to something 'raw-ish'. So I chose the hamachi. Very pretty plating, I love symmetry and balance. The thin slices of hamachi were indeed fresh, sitting in a stealthy pool of yuzu and olive oil. There are some fresno pepper slices and microgreens that garnish and a delicious nori cracker to break and accompany the crudo. This went really well with my glass of Fume Blanc. Caeser ($17/4.5*) We split this salad as their version sounded super cool. A miso-tinged Caeser dressing, lots of rustic garlic croutons and feathery soft grated parm and a soft-boiled egg. I love properly made Caesers and this was one of the best and unique versions I've ever had. The umami punch and the diverse textures just hit with me. A tad salty for a salad, but the crunchy and refreshing lettuce was able to absorb the salt blast. Huge salad too, like ideal for splitting and ridiculously large if for 1. Beef Short Rib ($43/4*) This was on special that night, and since I wasn't feeling Steak Frites (their only other beef entree option) this kinda fell on my lap. Very heavy and hearty dish. The short rib part was impeccable, super tender, gotta be sous vide. Perfectly seasoned with braising elements completely penetrated into the meat. There was a coarse gravy/sauce that covered which was okay, may have been the braising liquid just pureed. Served atop a huge pile of some risotto that I didn't inquire about. This risotto is what made the dish especially heavy. I ate most of it and it put me in a heavy carb coma. Lol. But there was a nice serving of perfectly cooked broccolini which helped balanced out the rich beef and carb heavy risotto. Chocolate Bar ($13/4.5*) Shared this for dessert as I really couldn't take more than just a few bites after the filling entree. But was this impressive, like high end dessert quality. Whoever does the desserts here definitely has some pedigree. The precision cut bar consisted of 3 layers. A brownie layer; a Bailey's mousse; and a salted caramel layer. I was loving the texture of all the different layers playing on one another. And every flavor was distinct without being overly sweet, which hit the right chords with me. A thick ganache garnished off to the side, which was good but just seemed a bit overkill with the already chocolate dominant bar. I think a cream element would have been a better contrast instead of rich chocolate on rich chocolate. But very minor quip on an otherwise skillful dessert. I finished the last few sips of my glass of Rhone with this dessert, and it left me one happy camper. I would definitely return as their style with flavors hits an accord with me. A little French, a smidge of Japanese and a lot of California. Rounding to a fiver, as this place made me more happy than not.

Secondarily, my sandwich was very good. It was packed with shrimp. Additionally, the fries were plentiful & GBD. The only downside was the price. My rellies who had the burgers and fish & chips enjoyed their food. I glanced at the latter and noticed 4 good sized pieces of fish. Nonetheless, the burgers were pricey at $20.99. Regarding the ambiance, its called the "yard" bc you are outside the normal restaurant. The space was popular with young children bc they could run around. Our servers were super friendly & attentive. In addition, the food came out quickly. I would def return despite the high prices. The food is very good, and the service is excellent. They actually have several varieties and I've really appreciated how they use a different spirit for each! I won't review every single one, but you can't go wrong based on what flavor profile you want. They're all relatively sophisticated, balanced, spirit-forward, and consistently well made. The rest of the cocktail menu is equally thoughtful. Complex, creative, and well executed without trying too hard or going over the top with flavors or presentation. The food is delicious as well although we're usually just here for drinks before/after a meal. More small bites than full meals, but everything we've had has been tasty and pairs well with the drinks. We really enjoyed the empanadas; great flavor and execution. ---- Environment ---- Warm, cozy, and stylish -- but not pretentious or obnoxious.
