I've visited Saucy Hut's food truck before, so I was excited to check out their new store location in Oakland -- congratulations! When we walked in, there were already a few customers, and the space itself was clean, vibrant, and welcoming. The customer care was outstanding from the start. We were greeted right away, and the staff checked in on us throughout our visit to make sure we were good and didn't need anything. Our food came out in about 10 minutes or less, which was impressive. We ordered a few steak hoagies, cheesesteak egg rolls, and their lemonade -- and wow. Everything was mouthwatering, rich in flavor, perfectly cheesy, and clearly prepared with mindfulness and loving energy. The lemonade was super refreshing and tied everything together perfectly. It all fully satisfied my craving. Saucy Hut always nails the flavor, and this new location is one of a kind -- from the food to the customer care. Visited this past Saturday, and parking was easy right across the street. The restaurant setting was clean and inviting with both indoor and outdoor seating available, and only a couple customers on site. Service was slow and seemingly uncaring, I wasn't even acknowledged as I waited at the counter to order. But at least the wait for my food was reasonable, about 10 minutes for takeout. I ordered the cheesesteak egg rolls and crab & shrimp egg rolls, with sides of saucy sauce and ranch. The eggrolls were quite delicious, generous with the fillings, and the exterior slightly crunchy with good flavor as well. I liked the cheesesteak eggrolls a bit more, though both were pretty decent. The saucy sauce was not very good, I just wasn't a big fan of the tomatoey concoction. And the ranch tasted cheap, like hidden valley brand. read more

After many visits here, I can honestly say that the crab and shrimp eggrolls are one of my favorite cravings in the East Bay! The sauce is to die for and now I understand why they named their restaurant after their sauce. The eggrolls are cracked open, the shell is crunchy which I didn't expect. Whenever I go, I always mean to try other menu items like the hoagies but always end up just ordering the crab eggrolls. Yes, they really are that good. Parking is hella tricky on this street but worth the patience. This place is always popping and busy whenever I come. We had the Buffalo lemon pepper wings, steak egg rolls and linguisa and steak fries. We traveled an hour and 10 minutes to get there, in the rain and everything was sooooo worth it! The flavors, sauces, temperature of the food, freshness! Everything was perfect. We had food leftover and just threw it in the air fryer the next day, still was delish. It was so good!!! Found the saucy hut on IG and wanted to try something different for my birthday. My husband and I ordered 15 lemon pepper wings 2 hoagies 1 order of the cheese steak eggrolls 1 order of the crab and shrimp egg rolls And some fries The guy at the counter was super coo!!! Our food was received hot and fresh. We had to make it to go but it smelled so good we busted open the egg rolls when we hopped back in the car. They didn't even make it back home. The hoagies were for my son and husband The chicken was for me and my older son The hoagies were super flavorful and they didn't even nor short change in the meat. The chicken wings were not my favorite but we still enjoyed eating them. Next time we are ordering more of the egg rolls and hoagies for all 4 of us. Sorry I didn't take pic this time. Was thinking actually slices of steak but instead got chopped up/minced meat. Question is why would you do that to steak and why called it a steak bowl? Just call it a beef bowl like Yoshinoya. Kinda disappointing especially if you were to weigh up the total beef amount, doubt it be more than a quarter pound. Maybe the other menu items are better which I don't know but just don't order the so called steak bowl. BUT then again they do have cheesesteak sandwiches thus their steak bowl. read more

it was my first time coming here. i have heard about it for years and finally decided to try it today. i rate it a 8.5/10. we got the cheesesteak eggrolls with the saucy sauce, the crab, shrimp, and hot link hoagie that comes with fries, and 5 pieces of buffalo lemon pepper wings that comes with ranch. also got the green apple lemonade. Customer service was great, we got our order hand delivered to our table and we ate in. The fries were great i am a french fry girly, the cheesesteaks were fire, the hoagie was my favorite part. my girlfriend didn't care for the hotlinks in it but i loved it. the buffalo lemon pepper wings were delicious too . we will definitely be back sooner rather than later. thank you guys so much !! read more

So I have been trying to get to this place for a while now. I'm a real seafood lover and seafood eggrolls has always been on my list of things to do. I realize that you can order on line which would give me enough time on my break to run and pick up. So I ordered the seafood egg rolls and lemon pepper chicken. It wasn't ready when I got there but that was fine because it will be hot. The egg rolls were good, but not what I anticipated it to be. I didn't really see shrimp except one tiny piece in each egg roll. The shrimp are chopped up way too small. It needs more of a bite and bigger chunks. It wasn't even a whole shrimp per eggroll, so I thought that was kind of skimpy. I also think it should be paired with a Yum Yum sauce or a tangy sweet aïoli sauce. It was a little over seasoned and a little Yum Yum sauce would have made it equal.. I didn't like the sauce that it was paired with. The garlic lemon pepper wings were BOMB. Super crunchy, tender and good size. I loved all the crumble from the garlic and lemon so fire. The place is really clean and the people are nice. I would definitely go again. This place is garbage especially for the price. A steak bowl (which implies toppings) only came with steak, rice, and cheese. No vegetables or toppings. Holy moly. I wouldn't have thought it was possible, but a cheesesteak egg roll can be excellent. They're served with crispy wrappers, sliced in half longways via some magic arts, topped with cheese and broiled (?!?) The fry on the wings was excellent. We got both the garlic lemon pepper, which had scads of garlic, and mango habanero which had good flavor without setting one's face on fire. We rounded it out with a veggie bowl: onions, peppers and mushrooms sautéed over white rice. There's just enough cheese in it for a little stringiness that holds each bite together and topped with an orange sauce. The cashier was very helpful and the whole place felt very clean. read more

I went to the the Saucy Hut yesterday. I spent $34. I am very disappointed. I order the cheesesteak, in which it was no cheese onions, no garlic , overly salted just rush cooked and unfavorable. Alsoo I order the cheeseburger eggs rolls which was extremely salty like the cheesesteak, hard and dried out like prunes,and I couldnt even eat them because they hurt my teeth and gums when I bite down on them. Overall a great place for some egg rolls and steak & Rice bowls. Service here is great with a straightforward menu as well and welcoming staff that take your order quickly. There's places to sit both inside and outside making the wait faster. There's a Tv as well as artwork on the walls giving the place a cool vibe. As a former wing business owner, I had to try the wings here, and they were pretty good. The seasoning on the outside was flavorful and had a great kick. The meat itself could have used a bit more seasoning throughout, but the crispy, well-seasoned skin made up for it. If you love that bold outer crunch, these wings are definitely worth trying. The cheesesteak egg rolls were a highlight. We tried both the classic and shrimp versions. The shell had a nice crispiness and felt like it was cooked separately, almost like a taco, then filled and served egg roll style. The beef was a little dry, but the cheese and sauce made up for it. The shrimp version really stood out. The sauce they use is top notch and brings everything together. We also ordered the bowl, which used the same filling as the egg rolls but was served over rice and paired with hotlink sausages. This bowl was fire. The sauce, rice, and sausage combo worked so well, giving it a rich and satisfying flavor. Honestly, I did not even need the meat with how flavorful the rest of the bowl was. I also tried their blue drink. The packaging in the clear container with a milk carton lid was creative and fun. The taste did not blow me away, but it was not bad either. A label or date would be helpful to know when it was made and whether it needs to be kept cold. Parking on the street was a bit tough, but we found a lot across from the grocery store that made it easy. Service was solid. They double checked our order and went through the bag with us before handing it over. I always appreciate that because it is frustrating when you get home and something is missing. Our food took about 22 minutes, which felt fair. Frying chicken fresh takes time, and you can tell they care about quality. The staff was friendly and adapted their approach depending on the customer. They had great energy. We decided to take the food to go since the crowd made us feel a little uncomfortable. OMG!! We came here all the way from SSF!! We ordered the hoagies like 3 of them one steak, one steak and shrimp, and the steak and link. The bread was so fresh with the cheese and peppers!!!! My son had the Three way rice plate(Steak,shrimp, and the big portion was a plus. The lemonade was so good. We ordered all the flavors!! We met Jun and asked him to open a spot in SSF!!!
