Here is my update: I came back again and tried the Chai Latte. The barista told me they do their chai from powder...Chai powder cost around $5-7 so a Chai Latte made from that shouldn't cost the same amount. The taste was VERY sweet and thick. The third (and final) time I came in I was harassed for over two hours about ordering something. Now I was going to order a bagel until I saw someone asked for something different after receiving their bagel. Additionally the "owner" told me I was being rude by not ordering and proceeded to ask me "well are going to help me pay the bills at the end of the month?" The cafe had been bubbling with people in and out but only 5 people were sitting inside. I could understand if he needed the seating but nobody is staying....at all! My sis and I were walking around aimlessy while my nephew was at band pratice and came across this cute little spot. the outside dining area was my favorite!! our sweet tooth had us indulging in a zesty lemon bar and a tasty moist brownie! OWNER IS RACIST!! I've been coming here for awhile now and just caught onto the racism from the male owner. I noticed that the owner treats his white customers wayyy differently from the black. He is friendly and more conversational with my white friends. Where as when I order he's extremely rude. Remind you i'm a very outgoing and respectful person, gave him no reason to be rude to me. Today I noticed there were white customers sitting at the 4-top tables alone. Anytime I try to sit there to do work he tells me I have to move to a smaller table and that there is a 1-hour seating limit at his completely deserted restaurant. NEVERRRR hear him saying that to his white customers. Seems like I'm not the only person that has had a similar experience by all the 1 star reviews on here. update: i decided to read other reviews and found that the gentleman working here has treated others unfairly and rudely. if you want to have a nice experience dont go here if hes there. drinks here are wonderful. the unique blends and flavors will keep you coming back for more. the food is average due to some being good and others being bland. Most workers are friendly and welcoming. the male worker there is rude and has made multiple mistakes with orders placed. after being confronted or corrected about his error, he laughs it off and will say he charged you what you got... even if that wasn't what you ordered in the first place. happen to me twice and I witnessed it to someone else. I've ordered and enjoyed the salad here several of times.One day I ordered that same salad through seamless and it was so bad! The dressing tasted old and it overpowered the salad making it soggy. I have managed an upscale restaurant before so I understand there are times where the food isn't correct. I took the salad back to The Buren. I explained how the salad was not edible and not good. Update: Reading other reviews (the newest one), makes me feel that I'm not alone in this. Such a shame that a cute place like this one has the worse human being as a employee with CLEARLY some anger issues. Never in my life had I been treated the way I was treated here. Terrible, TERRIBLE employee. He was from somewhere in Europe (had a thick accent). First off, I understand that some places have their rules, however, if there's a time limit that I can be there, tell me BEFORE I buy, not after. Second, he was talking to me as if I was either his employee or a person asking for something for free. Had a attitude and wasn't helpful at all. When I told him that my coffee was cold (I asked for it hot) his answer was "what do you want me to do?" I had to tell him to calm down and, since I didn't want to start an argument in the morning I decided to leave instead. The food here is terrible as is the customer service. Don't waste your money. I ordered waffles with fruit for $16 and added chicken for $4 more dollars on Grubhub and they just sent me waffles with chicken without fruit which tasted terrible. The waffles were bland and tasteless. I called and asked them what happened to my fruit and they said that I'd have to order everything separately which is a way for them to rip customers off. This coffee shop is very unpleasant. I visited this location once before. My experience wasn't the best, however I attempted to at least try it out again. The associates will ask you several times if you want something after being there for a good 15 mins. When I proceeded to make a purchase, I was uninterested and bothered by the way that I was treated. I left and will not be returning. I don't recommend it. Solution: Give your customers time to get settled before asking them to make a purchase. Communicate professionally. This spot is new and feels like it's finding its identity. The decor is Williamsburg-y but the beer and liquor selection feels like I'm in midtown or in long Island. I can't remember ever seeing a bar in Bushwick that sells bud light or has patron. The management needs to get in touch with the kind of crowd they want to cater to if they want to become a neighborhood bar. Bud lights, Stellas and Patron belong with the bridge and tunnel crowd in midtown. Food was decent nothing special. Also it's WAY too bright at night. Feels like I'm walking into a bright gas station. Dim the lights a little please, it could be a good date spot. Use candles! Such a nice place to go to. The people there and the whole vibe of the place is great. I especially like their pizza that's topped with grapes, SO good! I usually go here for their LaColombe draft latte or iced macha latte. It's a chill place, so it's also my go to place to study. Came in to study during a rainy afternoon. After ordering and if you wanna sit indoor, you sign in and get your temp checked for COVID. The only issue I have is setting a 1-hour max limit to indoor seating. I think increasing to 2 hours would be more feasible and more bang for your buck. read more

Passed this place so many times and decided to check it out. The decor is 5 stars. It's super beautiful inside--could be perfect for a casual group hang or meeting. Staff is also friendly. My matcha latte w/ oat milk came up to 5.50 which is normal, but my friend got a bagel with avocado cream cheese and smoked salmon that came up to 11. Pretty pricey for a casual breakfast. Went for a quick lunch - the person who seems to not be able to smile, greeted me with a "are you ready to order" , started by mistaking my drink order because she wasn't paying attention . Then I ordered tacos to go, they essentially threw my tacos in a aluminum foil which led to an extreme mess when I opened the tacos. Additionally it had 2 pieces of beef if in it with lettuce being the only filler. Needless to say the tacos were terrible. I live right next door and as convenient as this place is, I will def not return. I came here one morning and one afternoon - both times sat down with my laptop for a quick bite and coffee. The women who work here are lovely, but there is one guy who had the worst vibes and attitude.
