Holy Indigestion Batman! This place is ALWAYS great. Last night was our 4th? visit and the food was as great as always. There's just something about a REAL Hamburger.... And all my fries. And my whole large root beer. I wasn't feeling so not when we got home, but it was worth it! A little on the pricier side as we spent $34 on 2 adult meals, 1 Jr. Meal and another Jr Burger. My only issues: Kids meal CBs are meat and cheese only for $4.99 and if your kid isn't allowed to be picky, like mine aren't.... This place is great. Me and my family have been here at least 5 times now and each time the burgers have been phenomenal. My oldest son was home from College and we went twice while he was here. He got the bacon cheddar with triple patties each time and wolfed them down with no problem (unreal). The fries are delicious and so are the fried jalapenos. The only reason that I did not rate them a five star, is because sometimes they forget some of the condiments that we order for our burgers. (jalapenos, grilled onions, fried egg, etc.) We have never sent them back or complained because when we have noticed, we have eaten half or more than half of the burger so what would be the point. First impressions - when I walked in the door there were napkins and other debris on the floor so like another reviewer had posted it definitely needed to be cleaned up more. Our tables and chairs needed a better wipe down too I had a group of 10 showing up so we immediately pulled together two tables in the rather small dining area. The atmosphere was fine for a burger barn, with two TVs and lots of beer signs and other posters and things around the ceiling. While we waited for our group of 10 to show up, we noticed that the line to order was all the way from the counter to the door. Some of us decided to get in line so that it wouldn't take so long. We were shocked at the steady flow of new customers coming in - but they did get the food out fast. As for the food, my fries were not crisp, rather dark and tasted of grease that might have been used too many times. My burger was good but messy and not overly flavorful. I ordered the chipotle mushroom burger in the junior size. I could taste the mushrooms and the beef patty and tomatoes but that was about it. The fried pickles were a little on the salty side but that's to be expected. They did have a decent selection of bottle beers. Another diner with me ordered the chicken teriyaki burger and it was such a mess she had to ask for a plate and a fork and a knife just to be able to eat it. She did say it tasted good though. Wow, where to start. So after a good experience we went back. Now I used to work in the restaurant industry so I do not like going right around closing time. I checked the door hours and they close at 9:00pm. Being only 7:50, I felt ok going in and not keeping them late. We walked in and the place had an odd smell.... hmmmmm. Ok, we ordered and sat down. Well, here comes the smell. A dirty mop bucket and they started placing the chairs on the tables getting ready to close. I double checked the hours of operation and it said 9pm. ~25 tables in the place and they only made 4 available to sit at. Food comes around and again so did the mop bucket.... grrrrrr! I asked the girl what time they closed and she said 9pm. I asked, and your closing the lobby already??? Her "negative" (I had chosen a mush more colorful word but I got shot down!) response was "I have school tomorrow and I don't want to be here all night". Well, that's just great! Wanted to bring my family here to try it. I have eaten here many times before and had good experiences. I won't make this lengthy; however, we all ordered burgers, mine was the only one 1/2 the size of others. Manager was rude to me and pissed they had to remake my burger. Even when she realized it was their mistake. No apologies; she just gave me excuses. She was really more like a glorified key holder than managerial. Went to the burger barn after a game. It was close to closing time but there were several customers that came in after we did. We ate our meal and my son went up to order something else to go. They told him that the kitchen was closed and could not take his order. Another couple went up right behind him after they had browsed the menu and they took the order. Very bad customer service. This is best burger I've had in the Houston area. I had the cha-cha burger, my husband had the Royal burger, my mother got the bacon cheese burger, and my daughter got chicken nuggets. We all loved our burgers (even my husband who isn't the biggest burger fan) but the chicken nuggets were gross that's why I'm taking off one star. The nuggets were mushy and saturated in grease. I got the Refried bean burger and it was great! The beans were nice and blended well with the veggies and even more so the meat and cheese! The fries were nice and crispy and the meal was over all phenomenal! I'm always so impressed with the burgers I get. They are all made to order which you don't find very often at other places and the wait time was reasonable considering they had a lunch crowd at 12. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes burgers but more so if you are wanting to try some odd like the peanut butter burger, or royal burger with a fried egg. Trying to support local small businesses... EPIC FAIL!! Had a very unpleasant experience today. I started to write a review while there, but was very frustrated and angry! I came in at around noon ordered a grilled fish sandwich, Fries, and side salad. I asked to get my salad before my food. The girl (I say girl because all staff seemed to be teenagers) said that was fine. I waited...and waited...and waited. The couple next to me who came after me had received their food and was eating. I go to the Counter and ask for my salad. The girl seemed shocked that I had not recieved my food yet. She asked the kitchen and shortly after brought the salad. Or should I say burger toppings with ranch. Mind you i asked for croutons, she said they didn't have them, but they put bacon on it. So when I received the Salad at 12:33pm with lettuce, tomato, and cheese on it. I asked for bacon she said they dont because the manager was there. Um mm..OK?! She immediately brought the sandwich and fries. I opened the sandwich and there was a dried up half piece of fish. It literally took up less than half of the bun. I take it back and a boy at the counter took it in disbelief and gave it back to the kitchen. I then waited another 20 minutes for the sandwich to come back. Fries are cold by now. Ugh!!! My sandwich was brought out by a manager I guess. This time it was an actual fish filet on the bun and not a nugget! It was bland, there was little dressing on it, but plenty of onions, lettuce and tomatoes. They overload on the onions so beware!!! I ate the sandwich because I was hungry and I waited forever and a day for it annnddd I paid for it! My husband reccommeded the fish sandwich, but he gets it fried. She never looked at us and scowled at he register . We got our food and didn't get silverware. I walk to the counter ask for silverware I'm given disposable.
