Upon entry we asked to sit in the bar, and was told it was closed for remodeling. But were promised that the margaritas were still hand made with real tequila. Had been moving my mother down from Conroe to Houston all day and we really wanted to enjoy a nice marg. and an agreeable meal. Food was good, however beverage-wise we were served some concoction made with either wine or agave nectar. No tequila. I asked our server for a shot to add and the reply was, "My manager won't allow it." This organization has weird policies on alcohol service. Or maybe they lost their liquor license. Who knows? I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant in my life. My family and I were seated and then completely ignored. It took about 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us, and at that point I felt rushed to place an order because I wasn't sure when we'd be helped again. Drinks were brought out, along with my mother's food--but the rest of us received nothing. There were three people at the table, yet we sat there for an entire hour watching my mother eat while waiting for our meals that never came. When we finally asked what was going on, we were told that our order had never been entered. This was incredibly frustrating and unacceptable after such a long wait. What made the experience even worse was that we attempted to speak to a manager three separate times and were completely ignored. No one came to address the issue. The entire situation made us feel invisible and unwelcome, as if we did not matter or deserve to be there. It was hurtful and deeply disappointing. read more

Gringos is always a 10 out of 10 for me. I just wanted to update my review and shout out the Togo team. I had a minor issue with my food. The customer service was handled so elegantly management was super accommodating. The Togo staff even kept me company making sure I was OK while I was waiting. They were just very accommodating and very welcome in and I just even checked on me and they were trying to get to the bottom of an issue that I had and that's it shows no one is perfect, but it's just all about how you handle an opportunity based on either side it will be forever be my favorite gringos! read more

Looking for some good food without needed reservations and limited menus, me and my parents ate here on Mother's Day. My dad gets the Pollo Marisco or the Bbq Shrimp Meal whenever coming here. My mom and I very often get our favorite here being the Chicken Enchiladas w/ Amazon Sauce, plus rice n beans. I got refried n she got black ones. All 3 of our meals were very delicious, full of flavor and juicy. The cilantro cream sauce and tender shredded chicken combined with the soft, moist corn wraps went hard. Gringo's is one of my sister's favorite spots. This may be my second or third time trying it. I never really see them on my typical dining trips, so... I was craving Tex-Mex comfort food and my favorite restaurant was too far away. I ordered the Cantina Nachos, and wow--these were stacked! Crispy tortilla chips layered with gooey melted cheese, and jalapeños. I added grilled berg fajitas, and it was pretty good. Perfect for sharing... or not. My kiddo got the Chicken Burrito, and it was a beast. Stuffed with tender grilled chicken, rice, beans, and smothered in a rich, cheesy sauce. He said thst every bite was flavorful, and the portion size was generous enough to take half home...but Ant wasn't having that! The vibe would have been nice if the service was up to par, and the staff was attentive. It wasn't a full house, but we waited a while for our order to be taken, then we waited a while food, and then we waited a while for refills of our drinks. Sure, there could be various reasons for the lack-luster service, but that's when people step up. Not just look at patrons and wall away. Had lunch with friends and decided on this location. We were highly disappointed in the service from checkin to checkout. We were quoted 25-30 minutes but it was about 10 mins. We sat over 15 minutes before we received chips and salsa, we got drinks and ordered before our waiter served us chips. The waiter was very lax and was seen several times just standing around. My daughter's food was totally wrong and she had to watch us eat while waiting on her food to be remade. The place was busy but not too crowded that such mistakes happened. Very good! Super cute interior. It had a brick and wooden architecture that gave it an older and modern look. Service is fast and the waiter was very attentive. She checked up very frequently for us. Food was very good as well. There were many food and drink options. I ordered the fajita bowl. It was very tasty with cheese, refried beans, and little bits of steak. I love gringos! The food here is always so delicious, and the drinks never fall short. The happy hour is so worth it, and I love the complimentary chips and salsa that they provide. Food: My go to are the fajita chicken enchiladas topped with the white wine sauce. They're soo good, and filling as well. Drink: if you like beer,the coronarita is amazing! You get a frozen margarita topped with the beer of your choice. The service that I receive is good. The waiters are attentive, and are available to answer any questions that you have. To top it off, they have a machine for free ice cream cones! read more

The restaurant itself was nice, but we found that the lights in the booths were at eye level, so it was really hard to actually talk to each other over the table without squinting around the light bulbs. The food was okay but the al pastor fajitas were really low quality pork - it felt like half of the pieces were just fat ends. The drinks were good though and the chimichanga was good. We probably won't be returning again, but they do have a large menu, so maybe others will find something they like! read more

This was my first visit to a Gringo's Restaurant. Unfortunately, I was unable to eat food due to my husband developing a medical issue. However, the purpose for my excellent recognition of the Pearland Gringo's Restaurant location is because of the generous compassion the staff showed to help me and my family get my husband life-saving help! The person, Mr. Sony, who was working the door, immediately showed incredibly quick thinking to keep the situation calm and to quickly get the ambulance workers over to assist. He did this while showing great professionalism and compassion. The staff love did not stop there. I also want to recognize the store manager, Ms. Alecia, for her going above and beyond as well. The next day, she called me to see how my husband was doing. To me, this was her showing her nature of grace and concern for customers, whom she has never met before! To receive her call brought tears to my eyes. My husband did spend overnight at the hospital and is doing well! I would like to thank both Mr. Sony and Ms. Alecia and my family for going above and beyond to help him and me! Finally, I can not thank Gringo's Restaurant, Mr. Sony, and Ms. Alecia enough for stepping up and for their handling my scary situation with such grace, compassion and their desire to go far beyond their normal duties. With the OG and most successful Gringo's down the road in Old Pearland, this location had big shoes to fill when it opened up. It was one of early spots to open when the Pearland boom hit and quickly became a go to spot for my family and I. It pretty much stays busy and almost always has a wait. Customer service was great in the early years, but very hit or miss now. Tex-Mex is not my usual go to. I prefer something more authentic. That being said, Gringo's usually serves pretty good food. Of course you got your unlimited chips and salsa to start. My only wish is they had something that packs some heat because their sauces are kind of on the sweet side. As far as entrees go, my usual go to is the Pollo Marisco. It's a chicken breast, topped with shrimp and crawfish tails in a cream sauce. I've also substituted the chicken for beef. Both are pretty good. Every once in awhile I will get a combination plate for a little variety. Gringo's is also a popular spot for Happy Hour. I've come a few times and enjoyed some frozen margaritas that are decently priced. Only downfall is that they don't have any food on Happy Hour menu. Overall, as far as Tex-Mex goes in the Pearland area, Gringo's is A-OK in my book. I'm sure I will be back every once in awhile. read more

After my husband had a great work lunch at this Gringo's, he took me here on a date! We came on a Friday around 1pm so it was busy but we got sat right away. I LOVED the atmosphere! We sat at one of the 2-person booths in the bar area and it was comfy for us. I did enjoy gazing into the airy 2-story foyer next to our seats. The chips and salsa we were given upon being sat were AMAZING. I mean, they literally were some of the best we have ever had. My husband went with the Ribeye Street Tacos ($14.99) and I had the La Bomb-Bah Burger ($15.49). (Both were highly recommended by my husband's coworker.) The street tacos were AMAZING. The meat was so flavorful and juicy. My burger definitely was the BOMB. I felt a bit nervous ordering a burger at a Mexican joint but OMG... it's going to be hard to not order this next time I come. Sweet sourdough roll, burger, (cheese but I didn't get it on mine), bacon, poblano peppers, avocado, pico de gallo and Amazon sauce... It. Was. Perfect. Alongside this masterpiece were the most delectable fries. Hot, crispy and a light batter on them... ahhhh. Fries are my weakness. So the food was definitely a 10/10, 5-star all day long... Service was where the rating drops. Now, don't get my wrong, our server was nice. I don't know if it was the business or what... but we felt like we were forgotten about often. He would offer to get us more chips, never to return. After picking at the crumbs for awhile, a male manager happened to notice and got us more chips. After waiting more, a female manager came by and notified us that they're aware we had been waiting awhile for our meals and she apologized and offered to refresh our chips (again). Then, during our meals, our server offered to refill our drinks... only to never do it. As great as our lunch date was... it extended way longer than we intended. Despite the slight slip in service, we definitely want to return. The food was just too good. I'd love to update this review with 10/10, 5-star service to match Gringo's food. read more

I was quite disappointed as I am not from here and have dined at better Gringo establishment. Our waitress, was not present for most of the time, water was never refilled and when the chip basket was filled again, we didn't see her until after the entree came out to ask for sauces. :( and we know that green sauce is AMAZING. At the end, she gave us our check without asking us if we wanted dessert, but we still ordered an amazing tres leche! I also ordered a fog cab wine that I never got and it was on the receipt. When she put in the dessert, she asked from far I ever got my wine... At that point was when my family also noticed I didn't get it. This was a random Monday evening... Luckily, we were seated quickly but families over like 10 were going to wait 45 minutes. Turn over should've been less than that but lack of attention plated heavily here. Dirty tables that were not bussed... Not a great experience overall. I will say that the hostess at the front with amazing color hair was amazing and so personalable. This place stays busy!!!! it's a Mexican kitchen with a sports bar vibe. They have a lot of regulators that come in there throughout the week. I was visiting my mom in Pearland and we decided to go here. The food and drinks are so amazing!!! I was truly being greedy and eating everything! lol My pineapple margarita with top shelf, and it was made perfectly. I don't do salt or sugar on my rim. The southwest eggrolls, you've got to try them for yourself! I don't know what kind of figure recipe they have for their ranch sauce but oh my.... Our party of 3 had enchiladas, chicken and steak fajitas, and ended with soft serve ice cream free of charge. It was a very cold day so I can excuse the chips not being warmed up. The citrus tea was delicious. Even though we went there for lunch, the ambience was still dark except around the bar area. The dine in experience is much better than take out where I have often had to wait more than 15 minutes for my food to be brought to the curbside area. read more

We've been sitting here waiting for over 90 min. The hostesses are rude and not helpful. We joined the waitlist online arrived near our time and were told it would be another 35 min. Now 90 min later we have watched multiple parties that came after us get seated. It's almost 9pm and we got here just after 7. The hostesses have not said a word to us this entire time. Gringos is pretty bad overall. It's a nice looking Tex-mex spot but the menu is very limited and the food lacks seasoning. I got a combo plate with fajita beef tacos carbon, tamale and a cheese enchilada. It also comes with a tiny amount of queso and guacamole and sides of rice and beans. The meat in the taco was literally cold-sent it back for a replacement (wife's was cold too). In the meantime I dug into the rest of the items. Tamale was ok but very small. Cheese enchilada was ordinary. The rice had no flavor at all. Beans were average. 15 minutes later our replacement tacos came to the table...bland, no seasoning and no marinade. The salsa the comes with the chips is like 3/10 and no heat so I asked for something hotter. I got chalula which has zero heat but is a pretty good "hot sauce" and what they said was their spiciest salsa- it wasn't spicy and wasn't very good either. Margarita wasn't good. We asked if they had a coronita margarita (margarita with a small corona upside down in it) they said yes. What they brought was half full margarita and a full size corona on the side lol mmmkkay Overall everything lacked flavor. Service was average at best and I just can't see a reason to come back. I visited on a Saturday afternoon with 4 of my friends. I ordered the mariachi which was a combination of enchiladas, taquitos, and southwest eggrolls. Everything was excellent and the sauce that paired with the dish was wonderful as well. I loved all of the flavors and being that it was my first time at this restaurant I was actually very impressed. Best of all, they have a free self serve ice cream machine where you can get a vanilla cone, a chocolate cone, or a twist. I thought that was a nice touch following my meal. I'm actually really looking forward to going back and will likely make this a staple Tex-Mex restaurant on my list. read more
