Flavors are strong, lots of flavor but hard to tell if gravy and salsas are fresh. Green salsa I know was refrigerated and the red salsa is room temperature but a bit salty, just a bit. Ordered enchiladas with beef, they were average with gravy and minimal cheese. I had asked for extra gravy and onions but cancelled due to $1 plus up charge. the refried beans were the best part but still a tad to much salt. Hmmm, not sure I will come back since the ambiance is a little dreary and dark. plus service could use some SMILES! Overall i say its a nice place for a quick stop or no other option. When we arrived in Alvin, 6+ years ago, this was one of our favorite places to get our Mexican. They have opened a second location in Friendswood (at the location of the old Rancho restaurant across the street from H-E-B) and the contrast between the two is significant. The one in Alvin seems to have gone downhill quite a bit, however, we thoroughly enjoy the one in Friendswood. This is primarily in regards to service and food quality and attention to detail. The owners need to go back and look at the old Alvin store, and do some retraining and upgrades. read more

We were visiting & found this spot on Yelp. We LOVED it! We had breakfast & used the Yelp check in for a free order of queso. We couldn't finish our breakfast, so we got it to go. It was wonderful later not even heated up! I think that says a lot. The server was friendly, attentive & helpful since it was our 1st visit. My BF is a coffee snob & he said the coffee was good. That says a lot as well. We shared a carne guisada burrito & the super burrito. We both have hearty appetites & couldn't finish them. I'm about quality over quantity, & they both were among the best burritos I've had anywhere. The waitress said that everything is house made & it definitely tasted that way. The salsas were great to add some heat, but not needed for flavor. I live in the Heights & have lots of TexMex options. I would kill to have a mom & pop place like this here!!! I definitely will come back to try lunch/ dinner. Oh, it's BYOB!!! I loved sitting at the counter & watching them cook. I couldn't believe how fast we got our food. We were in the area looking at the new house and it was getting close to lunchtime. Hubby asks what I want, like he doesn't know me, and we decided Mexican. We looked on Yelp (of course) and decided here. It's a little place in a small strip mall and the GPS took us the back way so we're going through neighborhoods thinking, where are we going? But we got there and there it was, right on the end. It wasn't very busy at all and we were greeted and seated immediately by a super nice young man. We got our drinks soon and waited a little longer to order but it gave us a chance to look through the menu and enjoy the delicious chips and salsa. They serve red and green salsa, and although the red salsa is warm, it was delicious! Hubby ordered the two chalupas with fajita beef and I ordered chicken flautas. Wow. This was some seriously delicious food! It came out hot and fresh and the flavors were just ridiculous good! The place was super clean as was the bathrooms. They sat us where I could see the kitchen and everyone was bring very sanitary which is great to see. All in all this place was clean, the people were awesome and friendly, and the food was amazing! I typically would have gone somewhere else but since it was a Sunday non of my usual taco spots were open so I called in a to go order for 2 fajita beef tacos with charro beans and rice , which also came with chips and salsa . I showed up 10 minutes after putting the order in and went through the drive thru - I was asked to pull up and wait , so I did and waited 15 more minutes before I decided to go through the drive thru again and finally got my order . The salsa was warm and tasted fresh, not spicy at all . Tacos were ok , tortillas were a little dry and the meat was average and not really comparable to typical fajita beef street tacos as it was cut different -( like in cubes ?) Charro beans were surprisingly good though and I loved the cilantro that was added . Overall the food was ok but the wait time was poor. My family and I came down and ate here and I have to say the atmosphere was great! The service and staff were great and really made you feel at home! The food was excellent, fresh, an hot! The margaritas was so amazing that I had to order another one! If you're a margarita kinda person they have wine based margaritas and they are amazing! My friend and I were extremely impressed by this place! We were down the street at FroBergs farm, and wanted something to eat. I'm not familiar with restaurants in Alvin but based on the reviews of this place my friend and I decided to try it. I would give it 5 stars but my friend thought she had ordered beef fajitas or combo, because she was looking at a specific picture on the menu. They brought her a veggie and chicken fajita platter. She liked it but it was not exactly what she thought she ordered. Other than that it was extremely clean, waiters were super attentive. The food took a little longer to come out. I felt like we ate chips for 30 minutes straight LOL. My chicken quesadilla was one of the BEST I have ever had. I also loved the warm red salsa. This establishment is a little out of the way for me but if my friend moves to Alvin, this will definitely be one of our new faves! Will be back! Fejita beef tacos is one of my favorite tacos ever! I also love the good service and the staff is pretty much friendly.

The food is pretty good but the establishment is very small so hard to get a seat. They don't like to re-fill the chips and salsa. Overall I would eat here again but not my go to place. read more

We found this little place in Alvin, Texas located behind the Walmart off of Hwy 6. We we're wondering where one of our favorite waiters got off to from one of our other favorite local places. We found out that he took the job as manager at this little place so we came to check it out! They brought out the usual Chips and Salsa and the Red Salsa was really good as was the Green Salsa. We ordered an appetizer of homemade Guacamole that was really good and made fresh. I ordered the 3 beef enchilada platter that came with rice and beans as well as two crispy on the side. My wife ordered the Guadalajara which came with 2 beef enchilada's, one taco Al carbon with chicken fajitas, a puffy cheese tostada, with rice and charro beans. We ordered Easton a child's plate that came with a crisply beef taco and rice and beans. For drinks we all had coke, root beer, and sprite. The wait staff was really friendly and accomodating, and on their game! This place has a real nice ambience to it too! The food was really good and the portions were plenty. They have a nice menu to chose from, and there were a couple of items our like to come back and check out!!! So we will be coming back soon! read more

Great food and always fresh. The restaurant is convenient to our home and we can order our food online to go pick up. They have a drive through so it is very convenient! The prices are on point as well. My only complaint is if you are eating inside, the parking can be tricky. There is parking in the back, but people drive like idiots through the lot and so you have to be careful coming around the building. All in all, it is great! read more

We stopped here for dinner on our way home from Galveston. We were in the mood for Mexican food. I had Pollo something. It was a grilled chicken breast topped with poblano peppers and cheese. Side of rice and choice of beans...I got refried. Served with either flour or corn tortillas. I chose corn. It was all very good! I can't remember what my husband ate. He liked his meal as well. Have never had a dish that I thought was cooked properly...normally the tamales are too dry or something else has a funny taste. I do like their habanero sauce though...very tasty. You have to judge every Mexican restaurant by their Chips and Salsa and this was a very disappointing experience. The red sauce was OK but a little bland. The green sauce was just terrible. It tasted like lettuce for some weird reason. The chips themselves were really good though. The Sweet Tea was on point so definitely get it if you like sweet tea. The redeeming factor was the pork carnitas. They had great flavor and what will bring us back for seconds. The cheese enchiladas were lacking though. The cheese wasn't fully melted and that was disappointing. While the pork carnitas and sweet tea are great, they are only good enough to bring us back once. The red and green sauce needs a great improvement to make us regulars. read more
