Gringa de Harina (carne asada with flour tortilla)

I was pumping my gas at a Shell station when I discovered this marvelous taqueria, can we say the right place at the right time? My stomach was growling while my left hand was holding the pump. I made complete eye contact with the taqueria straight ahead. I started drooling on my pump, and had to use napkin to wipe myself up! I knew I was destined to go there!l lol. Going in, it was a MEGA sized menu running literally 15 x ft wide. I swear can see the words even if you're blind! They have lots of options but the one that sparked my interest was the Gringa De Harina! First of all, I've never heard of a Gringa in a Mexican menu, only just gringo lol so I knew I had to try! Gringa is basically a large ass quesadilla, harina is the flour tortilla, not to mention made from scratch! I ended up picking the carne asada option. Figured you can't go wrong hahaha. Food was quick, it was ready in less than 10 mins. It came with red and green sauce on the side. First bite - omg EPIC!! Flavors of meat and cheese exploded in my mouth, combined with the softness of the homemade tortilla = Heaven!! The sauces made it even better, with a kick! If you have made it reading this far, give the gringa de harina a shot! You are welcome!

Best TACOS!!! Service was amazing and employees were great. So happy I came here . Had a great meal with my family while being made delicious food by another. I will definitely be coming back with more of my family and friends. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was lovely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

OMG. Not a fake review. I like tho think of myself as an enchilada connoisseur.. these are by far the best cheese enchiladas I've ever had. The green sauce is perfect and the right amount of spice.. the beans were amazing and the rice to die for lol. My new favorite spot. Affordable too!!

I like the tortillas. The arrachera was good but for the higher price, I would've liked the meat quality to still be a little better. They have a salsa bar outside but it was a bit messy looking on my visit. I chose not to use it as it visually looked unappetizing. SERVICE They are friendly here. PARKING This is basically a small stand. There is no seating and no parking. You can park next door at Starbucks but you might get towed. Your other option is street parking further away and then just walk there.

I was very annoyed because I just thought it was going to be a quick turn around for some tacos! I almost left without the food because I had things to do! Lol luckily I stuck it out and when I tried the tacos I was very pleased. The meat was moist and flavorful. The lettuce and tomato were fresh. The salsa was good. I thought, I need to come back try other things. Fast forward to tonight - I finally returned. Again, the line was long and ordering took nearly 30 minutes before it was my turn. I ordered sopes de asada and tacos suaves de cabeza, lengua and pastor. It took over 30 mins to get the food but when it came it looked delicious and I thought all the items were very good. I ESPECIALLY loved the taco de pastor. It had great flavor and was so juicy! The lengua was very tender and had a good flavor. The cabeza was also tender with good flavor. They definitely season and cook their meats well. Too may places have very bland meats, and/or it's very chewy or dry or whatever else goes wrong. The asada on the sope was very tasty and it also was tender. I would definitely return. Do not come here if you're in a rush. This place is good if you have a lot of free time lol. It really is one cashier. There are no waiters. You have to ask the cashier for things you want like salsa or lemon or refills. I don't know why they don't get another person to help with the front, or another cook. So, just come, be chill, and expect to wait.

I went on a taco run yesterday to try to find the best taco in Whittier…read more Started off the run with a keto taco mixed with asada and al pastor and then a regular tripa taco. Keto taco - toasted/grilled cheese instead of a regular tortilla - needed to be done a little more on one side as the cheese wasn't quite toasty enough to stay in place to slightly resemble the shape of a taco. Bit hard to eat, covered my hands in grease. Asada tastes almost boiled, and this being my 2nd or 3rd time getting the Asada here, it consistently tastes like it was boiled and not grilled. Unsure of meat quality or preparation, but there are no grill marks and it's a bit chewy. Same with the al pastor. Tripa taco was bizarre. Strips of flat skin instead of the usual roundish, cylindrical shape of tripa (intestine). Usually a saltier, fattier meat than asada, which is my preference but the one here was lacking in flavor and the texture threw me off a bit. Tripa can be chewy - unless requested extra done, which is how I normally order it - but there was no saving this tripa. I think it needs to be sliced differently, the cuts made it inedible. Brother shared some of his chorizo taco and it was the better of the bunch. Red chorizo, TJ style, although it was also lacking a teeny bit in flavor... onions and cilantro to the rescue! Still, mediocre. Salsas were ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Don't think the tortillas were homemade. Service was fine, cashier takes your order, dude at the counter was chill and had a friendly attitude. Seating was limited. Mostly bar style seating but the majority was in front of a window and it had so much heat trapped from the glass that it was kind of uncomfortable. Other seats are too close to the bathroom. Good for a quick bite or just pick-up orders. Wouldn't plan a sit down/dine-in visit. Parking is scarce and has really small spots, wouldn't come if you're driving a pick-up truck or anything like that. Food was reasonably priced, which is good, however; the food was lacking so I would not return.
