I came here with my family after a long day at the lake and we were excited to grub on some tacos. We ordered 2 pork tacos, 4 beef tacos, and 4 chicken tacos. After waiting about 10 minutes, we receive our food and see that there are 8 beef tacos and 2 pork tacos. Obviously, I told the host that we were missing our chicken tacos and had extra beef tacos. She it was okay and we could take the extras and she would have the kitchen make our 4 chicken tacos. After eating what we had, we went back and forth to ask the host where our tacos were multiple times. We were taken aback when she told us to give back the extra tacos 20 minutes after our hungry family ate them so that she could replace them with the chicken!!! The tacos were mediocre and had a plain flavor without the salsa. Do not recommend. read more

Pretty decent little spot in KB. I've been driving past it for a while and finally stopped in for a quick weekday lunch. I ordered the carne asada burrito with guacamole on the side and a can of coke. The highlight for me was the guac- it's pretty obvious that it's freshly made, thick but still clean tasting, which is hard to find at most taco places. The burrito itself was pretty good as well, but I wish that the meat was a little more... meaty, if that makes sense. All together my lunch was a little over $19 (including tax and tip) for the burrito, guac on the side, and a can of Coke. I find this a little on the pricy side for lunch, which is why I can't justify a perfect five star review, but in all fairness the amount of guacamole that you get as a side is pretty generous. read more

Got their carne asada burrito and it was alright. The size of the burrito was worth $10, but I felt like the taste was okay. The rice was a bit dry and the meat was also not that flavorful. They give you a choice or red or green sala and I chose the red one, but it also didn't really give much taste to the burrito. My friend tried their shrimp burrito and said it was also alright. This place was a good spot to find something to fill me up, but wouldn't say it was a good/ delicious meal. However, the food comes out fast and the staffs are very friendly! read more

So, the food is 4.5 stars. Its tasty, consistent, and I truly enjoyed it. I say "enjoyed" because after today, I may rethink going. My reason may be silly but... I'll explain. I was excited to stop at Burrito Window today as when I drove by they appeared to have extended their hours! My daughter said, "I see an open sign!" We saw the doors were open and people were inside and outside eating so we took 10 irritating minutes to find parking. Yay!!!! Found a spot! After finally finding a space, we rush in the open door and are greeted to the wonderful smells of delicious burritos and a full restaurant. I approach the cashier counter and get "Sorry, we just closed." I look at my watch while saying something like "are you serious?" My watch says it's 6 PM on the button. The cashier says, "yea, well we close at...." I'm too irritated to listen. I show my obvious frustration with a curt "bye!" and leave flustered with two disappointed 10 year olds following me. 10 minutes to park, full restaurant, closed.... ok. I catch the hours sign as I leave; closes at 6. I get to my car and sit down at 6:01 according to my phone. Now, I get people are tired at the end of the day. But here are my points of irritation: 1. I am at the counter at 6pm. 2. The restaurant is full, some people just starting to eat. 3. The cooking staff is still obviously preparing orders. 4. Doors are open, not just unlocked but open. 5. What restaurant closes at 6? Isn't that like prime dinner time? I'm not special. I don't expect a place to stay open for me, especially if they are obviously closing up. Hell, I worked in the food/service industry. I get it. But, when it is OBVIOUS the place isn't emptying out in the next 5-10 minutes, could ya give a gal a break and let her order dinner to go since she's there right at 6 with two kids? So, like I said. Definitely a hungry hippo's best choice for a quick bite next to KB. By hippo I mean any human man, woman, or child. The chicken burrito bowl was mad tasty: bed of Spanish rice, cheese, black and pinto beans, chicken breast stewed (or braised, not sure) to perfection, topped off with cilantro and salsa verde. It was pretty fire, especially after a long day at the Lake. Onto the price: not bad, 11 bucks. And to the lady at the register, probably the owner, thank you for your hospitality despite us walking in 25 minutes before closing time. What a great found gem right across the street from the beach! The Burrito Window is great for a quick grab and go lunch whether you enjoy it on the beach or grab it to go on your way out of town. Do note that they are not open for dinner though! We choose to try here on the way out of town as a quick meal. I ordered the carne asada burrito without beans. Oh yummy! The burrito is pretty big. I could easyily get two meals from this one burrito. It is jam packed with rice, meat, salsa, cheese, and sour cream. The meat is very tender and you get a couple pieces in each bite! No skimping out on the protein here. I also love how wet the inside of the burrito was. It meshes it all together to create an amazing burrito. I can just imagine laying back at the beach and enjoying this burrito with the sand in my toes. A must grab for anyone looking for lunch! I will eat here again next time im up. read more

I was looking forward to coming here while on our visit to Tahoe. We came in and there wasn't many people around. They had options a la carte or you could get a meal. They had choices for burritos and tacos as well as kids menus. I got the vegetarian burrito. It came with rice beans salsa cheese sour cream and lettuce, as well as grilled peppers onions and a slaw. Wow this burrito was really good. I'm not sure what was in the slaw but it was delicious. They also used a mix of black and pinto beans in the burrito. Came here hoping to grab a quick bite before spending the day on the sand. My boyfriend I checked out the menu posted on the outside window and decided to go with a carne asada burrito and a salad. When we entered, the cashier had finished ringing up a customer and just stood there chatting for nearly five minutes, while we waited (and waited) to order. I have no problem waiting in restaurants- I DO have a problem waiting when there are 2 customers in the store and I am waiting because an employee is having a conversation. Eventually the customer suggested the cashier take our order; which the cashier thought was a good idea. While we tried to order the cashier continued to talk to this other customer, and we waited two minutes after ordering to actually pay. We literally just stood there while she had this conversation, while I just stood there with my debt card. Really ridiculous. We got our food within minutes which is usually great, but that's because all the food is already prepared, and you can tell. The burrito had bland rice, meat, and beans. My salad did have a great lime vinaigrette, but I had added carne asada to salad which absolutely killed it. I don't even think "carne asada" is the right term. Whatever meat was added to my salad reminded me of hamburger meat. It was grey, and unseasoned. For such a small menu, I would assume at least the meat was cooked to order, but I was very disappointed. read more

I was here in December for such a memorable meal that I am still craving the food here. If I lived within and hour or two drive, I'd be making the drive today! The tacos, chips and fresh guacamole were some of the best I've ever had. The quality of the meat was simply top notch! It is rare to find meat of this quality at other taco or burrito restaurants. I sure haven't been able to find any in the Sacramento, Oakland or San Jose areas yet despite a lot of time and money spent trying to. Well done, Burrito Window! It used to be a great spot to grab a burrito & head to the lake, but the last couple times I went, there was essentially no meat at all. I almost turned back as halfway through there still was not a single bite of meat, it did finally produce 3 pieces at the end. Disappointed, thought the 1st time it happened it was perhaps just a fluke but $12 plus tax/tip for essentially a whole lot of rice wrapped in a tort:/ just not worth it. Every time we visit the North Lake Tahoe area, we make one of more trips to The Burrito Window for lunch. The food is always excellent, whether it's Tacos, Burritos, or some other plate. I usually get something with pork because it's beautifully braised and extra tender, though my wife and son tend to get beef and chicken, respectively. They also carry fish and shrimp that look delicious. The staff (the cook, really) is always friendly, and the atmosphere is bright and inviting. If you're in the mood for a simple and delicious lunch of Mexican food, I couldn't recommend this place any more highly. read more

We stopped here after going to the beach in King's Beach after our concierge recommended it. It is a small restaurant but has a good amount of seating. It is new and well designed.
