Burrito Window is the perfect place for a quick (and reasonably priced!) lunch. I come to King's Beach every year and this is the place that we were missing! Delicious chicken burrito with red salsa (neither salsa is spicy, but the red is the milder). Its not the most traditional burrito you'll ever eat, but more so that chipotle. The chicken was seasoned more than I expected, with some chiptole flavors coming through pretty strong. The rice and salsa and sour cream balanced the flavors perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised with the interior. It was clean and done in a sort of Scandinavian style, with white, grey, and natural wood accents. There was plenty of seating, but I can imagine this place getting crowded. Was nice and cool as well. Food came out in 3 min flat (yes I timed it !) and was delicious. 10/10 would return. Tl;dr - great place for a quick lunch Note for gluten free people: Their menu says exactly what is and isn't gluten free - and you can get all burritos made into bowls. read more

I've been going here pretty regularly since they first opened in Kings Beach and I definitely think they have the best burritos anywhere around Tahoe. While they're not traditional "authentic" burritos, they have a modern twist and are packed with great flavor. Everything tastes really fresh and you can tell they use better ingredients than the typical burrito spot. Both the steak and the shrimp are go-to favorites of mine, with the hot salsa. read more

Jacked up all the prices, lowered the quality. Why is my 18$ order for 2 tostadas over 23$ before tip? Oh, cause you sneakily charge two dollars more for meat, even though it says it COMES with your choice of meat. Nope. It appears that a two dollar charge is for extra meat, but no, this takeout place now believes that its chips, beans, and rice alone is worth 9$. So, the dish that was 7.5$ a year ago is 11$ (which isnt obvious until you pay), and its not as good as it was. Half of their employees are nice, half suck. Don't bother anymore. read more

This place was fantastic when it was in Tahoe City. Now that they are in Kings Beach I am regretting my decision to return. I drove by and decided a burrito sounded good. What I got was mostly rice, the carne asada was just a salty mush, and a small spoonful of guacamole for $3. I could have lived with that, but I got horrible food poisoning after eating there yesterday (12/4/2019) and still haven't recovered from it. read more

After having a lot of sub par Mexican experiences in the mountains we finally found a place that was good on the tastebuds and the wallet. In town visiting for the weekend and our group stumbled upon the little whole in the wall. We approached the counter and the staff was delightful, service was quick, and the food came out even quicker, We were a little shocked it came out so quick and then we knew why... The food was poor at best and obviously pre-prepared, Luke warm, the carne, if you want to call it that, was skirt steak that lacked any flavor. The rice was grainy and tasted over cooked. The group couldn't even finish our food. We ended our lunch at the Taco Bell next door. The three of us who ate sour cream on our food at this restaurant spent the night with diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. Yes I'm assuming it was the sour cream because the other two who ate the sour cream did not yea Taco Bell. We will not be back. read more

Just had burritos from here. We all loved them. The service was good, the place was neat and the food was good too. Their chips and salsa is great. You have to pay but its worth. These are the one of the better "white people" burritos I have had anywhere. Meaning, not traditional from a true mex joint but damn good. The beans are whole vs refried, and I prefer no rice personally. Little zip on the green salsa and the meat whatever you choose is flavorful not salty. Music whispers past artists that holds a soft spot for everyone, and the walk up window is always a pleasant experience. Nothing special. Salsa doesn't have a lot of heat, the carne asada wasn't particularly seasoned, and the burrito was rolled in a way where one side was all rice with the rest of the ingredients on the other side (instead of being mixed together). Also, ordered the burrito with guacamole, got charged for it, confirmed with the guy giving me the burrito that guacamole was on it, and didn't get guacamole. So service also leaves a bit to be desired. read more

Best gringo burritos on the lake! Quality meat and good portions of it. It's run by a catering company so it seems like they have higher quality ingredients with better seasoning than any other place. Really. They are only open a few hours a day and its not high-end inside or anything. That's fine. It's expensive to run a business in Tahoe and they have found a great lunch niche. I got the pork Verde burrito. $6.75 for the burrito, decent size, pretty healthy burrito it seemed to be kinda chipotle style. Had seating inside food came pretty fast. They are only open for lunch from 11-2 which seemed interesting but at least they were open which is better than all the other businesses in this town that don't seem to be. Maybe I'm just spoiled with the burritos I get frequently in the Mission district out in San Francisco...but this had to have been one of the most mediocre burritos I've ever had. The burritos come with black beans and pinto beans so make sure to request if you don't want one or the other. I got a steak burrito with everything but there was little to no sour cream and the steak was very dry. The green salsa was also almost non existent and they do not have an area for you to get regular salsa on the side for chips, etc. This place is right down the block from my boyfriend's cabin in Kings Beach and I would not recommend this spot nor come back here...I guess it's good for Tahoe but there's so many other great restaurants up here so why waste your time on a mediocre burrito?! I would have preferred Taco Bell down the street...I'd give it 2 stars but the staff was friendly and the food came out quickly. read more
