    House Sandwich with fries
    Jimmy S.

This place has a large selection of meats butcher wise but fairly pricey. I came here to eat and got then house sandwich steak tips sandwich with fries. The sandwiches was good and I want to come back to try their pastrami. Their fries were kinda soggy and too soft. The tallow and salt was a good seasoning but disappointed with the fries. The staff was super friendly and nice and accommodating. The place has a plethora of bbq & sauces and spices. Not all encompassing but you can find some niche stuff there too. I recommend a visit at least.

I've stopped into The Butchery before to pick up meat and wine for dinner, but this time I stayed for lunch--and I'm glad I did. Ordered the pastrami sandwich, and as you can see from the photo... I didn't make it very far before digging in. It was that good. The pastrami was rich and savory, piled generously, with melted cheese and great flavor in every bite. Service was quick and efficient (perfect because I came in hungry), and everything came out fresh. The ambiance is simple but comfortable--easy place to sit back and enjoy a solid meal. And once again, I found myself eyeing the wine selections on the way out... I'll definitely be back.

Went in here after passing by it so many times. It's so cute and bright and full of so many wonderful things to look at. I was assisted by Randy when I ordered an Italian sandwich- it was so delightful. The bread was so soft. Cash helped me at the retail counter getting some goodies and gift cards. Lovely experience, I will be back.

The last of the pastrami. Yum!

Clean, bright aisles of beautifully presented food items in what was formerly Lindbergh Nutrition. We ordered the burgers of course. High quality and the order appeared faster than expected. There's room for creativity with condiments. Prices for the burgers were reasonable. Friendly staff. Would come back. Parking in the smallish lot but I always find a spot.

    Steak and fries

Came here for lunch today with a friend. I had the steak and fries. The stake was a little burned on the outside so I cut those parts off. Fries were good. My friend had the brisket sandwich which he enjoyed- the meat was sliced just right and the cole slaw was fresh. There was one thing I noticed that was concerning. An employee took his empty plastic water bottle and put the mouth of it where he directly drank from into the tip of water the dispenser. I told him that wasn't hygienic and he said that's what they all do because otherwise the water bottle won't fit. I told him again that's not hygienic and why and that a better option would be to fill a glass with water and the fill the water bottle. He did end up cleaning off the dispenser but if this is something that regularly occurs I wonder what other corners might be cut here. I'd at least steer clear of the water dispenser.

    Steak and Frites

Omg.. the steak and frites are to die for! Amazing amount of french fries and meat is so well cooked! I would probably get mine more medium rare next time, but still so delicious and well seasoned and I love that the french fries are beef tallow! must try!

This is a nice kinda trendy and upscale butcher shop. Beyond beef they offer fresh seafood fish crab shrimp as well as pork chicken sausages and cheeses as well as deli cold cuts It has a wide selection of craft beer and wine as well as gourmet snacks They have a kitchen that prepares fresh made to order custom cooked fresh food on their lunch menu averaging about $20 per entree It's a great spot

Most of the reviews seem to be about the prepared foods, which looks amazing by the way! But I'm here to talk about the butcher/grocery side of the business. All the protein selections (meat, poultry, sea food & cold-cuts) are top quality and beautifully presented. The staff behind the counter is friendly and knowledgeable. They are very helpful with advice and recommendations. We came in for cold-cuts to make sandwiches at home and had some of the best roast beef I've ever had!!! In addition they also have a gourmet market section in the center of the store. If you are looking for any hard to find ingredients this is the place to find them. There is also a solid wine wall and large beverage selection. The entire shop is immaculate and there is plenty of parking in the large shared parking lot. The Butchery is going to be a regular grocery stop for my family :)

This is one of my favorite butcher shops. I come here twice a week Monday's and Thursday for their brisket sandwich. highly recommended. Additionally, I get my deli meat from here. I recommend going to Peter if he's behind the counter. Very professional and slices the meat perfectly and layers it by three to four pieces within the lb for sandwiches. He's consistent, respectful, and it'd always a pleasure when he provides me with customer service. Everyone one is welcoming but he goes absolve and beyond.

So many reasons to come to Butchery. For the finest selection of hug quality meats. An impressive selection of cheese and salamis. Or specialty items like spices, chips, and sauces. Mason was super helpful showing me the items around the store. He also saw some children and handed out stickers to them. Service is excellent.

When is it not wine time? Cheers, Yelp friends!

No prestiditation, no joke...The Butchery in Manhattan Beach is here! The drive to the OC was a little cumbersome. It got to point where no matter how much we wanted provisions from The Butchery, we would go without because we simply didn't want to make the drive. Now we have The Butchery in our neighborhood! Excellent service, superb quality meat, poultry and seafood. And the cheese, oh Lord in heaven, the cheese is what dreams are made of. One could make a beautiful charcuterie and cheese board from the fantastic selection of crackers, sundried tomatoes, EVOO and salami options in the meat case. Wine, beer, and snacks, too. And if you have time, stop for a bite to eat in the café. Sandwiches, burgers, salads, fries cooked in tallow and a small selection of wine and beer on tap. Find an excuse to visit. If you can't find it here, you don't need it!

Smash burger (ate part of the burger and some fries)

Very nice, organized and clean site. Everything looks nicely placed, makes you want to buy everything. They have a lot of imported and upscale items, as well as your everyday things to be almost a one stop shop. We came for the sausages they make in house daily and the sandwiches. Hubby ordered the smash burger with beef tallow fries. Burger was nicely cooked and smashed and cheesy. Comes with crunchy beef tallow fries. I ordered the spicy house chicken sandwich. Comes with nicely grilled onions and jalapeños, cheese, and Serrano mayo. It was good, I would eat this again. We've been coming for their steaks and sausages. They have a great selection and their sausages are made in house. Good and fresh. Service is always nice and helpful. They always have smiles on their faces. It's also very close to our house, which is another plus!

I've been driving the extra distance to Trader Joe's ever since to do all my food shopping and have been really happy...but tonight I needed a few small things and Trader Joe's was close to closing time, so I rolled the dice and gave Ralph's another chance due to a closer proximity, later hours and the hopes that in all this time some improvements may have been made. I was so wrong; and the decision was a monumental mistake. There isn't a single category where Ralph's is even competitive with TJ's. The organic product quality was literally disgusting and I had to opt to just forego buying two of the items I needed. The bakery item I purchased (cake) was stale, loaded with chemicals, and left a strange film and aftertaste in my mouth to the point I couldn't even finish it. The employees are stressed out and spread thin due to insane understaffing (one poor unfortunate soul sweating & doing their best to man the only open register) Ralph's prices are much, much higher for worse quality and smaller portions. The only thing that seemed like it was a good deal was Kombuchas on sale...but once I got to the counter learned the price shown on the shelf required the downloading of an app, the linking of online accounts to other accounts, and an incredibly confusing time-consuming process that in the end GLITCHED and didn't even work! Long story short, I will be making sure to leave earlier and drive the extra miles to continue to go to Trader Joe's instead.

The hot (and not-so-hot) offerings, the sushi, and the olive bar were all great too. Then we all knew the shine wouldn't last--like smoke and mirrors--and sure enough, it did fade. The salad bar and "warm food" are usually just "okay." Honestly, it never feels truly hot, so calling it a "hot food bar" is kind of misleading. Sometimes it's fresher and healthier, but at other times it's not as good--more dried out, if you catch my drift. The other morning, I wanted a breakfast burrito. I had time, so I stopped in for coffee and only that--I figured since it had just opened, I should expect better. They had beautiful paper-wrapped breakfast sandwiches and burritos. I picked one up, and it felt light, which is what you want when you're hungry. Then I paid--do you go for the $12 option or the $25 double? I went with the $12 one. I opened the paper and found a microwave-style glob stuck to it. The potatoes were al dente, but not in a good way. It felt like there was more melted cheese than actual egg, and it was disappointing. It's frustrating because you'd think a company under the "Amazon empire" umbrella--especially one with questionable ethics--would still protect quality and staffing so the experience stays upscale. You know the "smut/smog layer" I'm talking about: once that shows up, you can feel the difference. Anyway, maybe Ralphs is similar, but I'll be avoiding that 1/3 of the store moving forward. I'll still do some of my produce and other shopping there, just not that section. I know I should've taken it to a manager, but it already seems they're well aware.
