So this gem of a sandwich shop popped up on my social media. I'm a sucker for a good sandwich so I saved the post. I went back to it a day later and didn't even realize that it was close to where I live, so I decided to stop by on my way home. Late afternoon 4/20/26. I never noticed it because you can't really spot it street side. The entrance is on the other side of the building and a bit hidden. Anyhow, I found it ok. Walked in, was greeted promptly and found the place to be nice and clean! Steve greeted me and asked how he could help. I was getting a few sandwiches, one of which Steve recommended (Hot pastrami). I also ordered the club sandwich on sweet wheat and the veggie sandwich on a French roll. This place doesn't miss! My family were happy with their club and veggie sandwiches. My hot pastrami sandwich was amazing as well. The portions, presentation, and quality ingredients were on point. Service is quick and friendly. Pricing is fair. I highly recommend this place! They use Boars Head deli meats! I'll be back!

Delicious fresh sandwiches! We love their hot pastrami, Monster and Italian sub. Can't wait to try more of their sandwiches!

Baba's is an incredibly cute deli! The staff were super friendly. I got a BLT which was off menu, and they made it so good! They added so much bacon! The sandwich was so good, had to save half for later.

Always looking to find a spot like bay cities in Santa Monica but in the South Bay. Babas is not a bad runner up! Nice sized sandwiches, we got the Italian and the pastrami. Both were tasty, and filling. Good selection of chips as well! Overall I loved the Italian, I always miss hot peppers on a sub like this but adding pepperonchini was a good substitute

I got a custom sandwich and my wife got the Monster. We went on a week day and at lunch, a rush came in right at noon so we were lucky to get ahead of everyone. This place picks up and for good reason. The ingredients were fresh and I really enjoyed mine. My wife said the Monster tasted a bit too sweet, but she can see how people would like it. It just wasn't her style and she'll probably try something else next time. Also, the lady who took out orders was nice and their service was fast. I see why they had a really solid Yelp score and next time we're feeling like deli sandwiches, we'll be back.

Really good sandwiches with lots of selections! The service was also very good and very friendly. My favorite was the monster sandwich which was super packed with protein. I also tried the pastrami but that one was just okay - definitely would recommend the monster over that one! Note that there is minimal seating and parking :)

Babas is a fine it's nothing spectacular and it's just above getting the job done. Monster is probably the best sandwich, followed by Pastrami and Times Square. Ng is a bad sub though sorry y'all. Bad bad not bad good. League average honey mustard. Bad combo. Way too sweet when it's honey turkey and honey ham, flavor profile too light. Inconsistent if you look at other pics. Good roll though. Italian also too much bologna. Fixins need an upgrade to be elite. Particularly sauces, cucumbers and pickles. Pickles are pathetic, go get the crispy good ones.

First time ordering from Babas I was amazed by the amount of meat on my sandwich. I would highly recommend the Times Square.

I love this place so much!!!!! I have already left my initial review but I've been coming here for the last 9 months and I love them dearly. The sandwiches will always hit that spot in ur tummy!!! The owners are amazing and sweet people and deserve all the foot traffic they can get. I've definitely got my family hooked on them too.

The sandwiches are amazing, my husband got the Monster and honestly, I couldn't believe he finished it! It was huge. I got a vegetarian and it was made exactly the way I love to eat it:). The shop is immaculate and the owners Sara and Steve are the kindest most patient people. Being first time customers we had a difficult time making a decision because there were way too many delicious choices

Why you see is what you get. Straight forward no frills NY deli vibe in SoCal. Service was lovely. She was very through in taking my order. Sandwich's were very straightforward. Ruben with pastrami was delicious- I personally prefer the filling to the edge of the bread. Italian Sub- very classic flavors and oh so messy. NG Sub- overall classic sandwiches vibes, could use some seasoning- no need for cucumbers without a bit of salt. Monster Special was probably my favorite and the most flavorful. Potato salad- I don't think the person who came up with this recipe loves potato salad. It could use some love. Sodas and chips available in the lobby.

BROOOOOOOO this was FIRE! The owner hooked it up and is so nice. We got a hot pastrami and it did not disappoint. We will definitely be back to tey the other sandwiches!! Plenty of parking in the back as well!

Baba's is an asset to the community! Tucked away on PCH this is a solid sandwich shop with Boars Head everything-- high quality meats, cheeses, and even other ingredients! It's a nice local spot that's an alternative to Jersey Mike's or other sub sandwich chain shops. The sandwiches are big and packed with ingredients and the workers are incredibly kind and friendly. This has become my go-to for sandwiches and ever since I found out about it, I've heard about it many times from other local families as being the best sandwich shop in town.

The Reuben with corned beef and the Reuben with pastrami. Both plates come with your choice of a salad and pickles. I recommend the potato salad; it's my culinary guilty pleasure. Truthfully, I don't get that much a smoky taste from the pastrami, but it's still delicious. That corned beef is so wonderful, it's so tender and falls apart so easily upon a bite. Their soda menu is a very lowkey, unsung hero. I've tried soda brands you don't typically see in grocery stores. Their ginger ale hits the spot without fail each time. I think one drawback is that this place doesn't allow adjustments. I've personally never asked for any, but I can see how other customers might find that off-putting. I typically do a pick-up order vs. dining in, but when I do enjoy the sandwich in the restaurant - the service is super quick and cordial. The interior of the place itself isn't exactly upscale, but it's also more polished than a standard diner. TONS of seating inside and a few tables outside if you want to enjoy your food with some fresh air. I chose the cucumber salad. The pastrami sandwich was huge. It was packed with a lot of high quality, tender pastrami meat. The plate also comes with a side of pickles, so yes, I was full afterwards. My coffee cup was always filled, tasted good, and hot. The two staff that were waiting on all the tables were friendly and efficient. There was never a moment I felt neglected. It's prefect for both small and large groups. Parking: Free, shared strip mall. Crowded, small parking spaces.

I was pointed to the cooking section and told they had two brands: Tony's and San Antonio. Without really knowing that I knew what I needed that I had been unable to find elsewhere, they met my goal of finding this very specific item. Meanwhile, though not my first visit, but a long time since my last, I couldn't help but notice how large the space is, and how much they have to offer. Only half of the space is a store. In the back, they have a full bakery of popular Italian treats. Bombolinos and cookies and even basque cheesecake! Then they have sandwiches and other homemade meals that you can purchase by the pound. And to top off the experience, you don't have to wait to get home - there's a fountain for beverages and you can eat your deliciousness in their large dining area. I personally will be back for a lunch visit, at some point. For now, I'm going to be using that Marsala wine to attempt duplication of a nearby restaurant's chicken Marsala recipe!
