Biscuits & Gravy. You want this!

Biscuits and gravy was so good. Walked by 5 table outside and everyone who had it basically was cleaning there plates. I did the same once mine arrived!

Caramel iced latte, banana foster French toast, and the house salad as a side.

Took myself on a solo date and was seated promptly. The French toast was delicious, but a tad too overwhelmingly sweet, so I'm glad I got the house salad, which consisted of mixed greens, pickled onions, and a vinaigrette. It was my first time here and will likely go again!

Biscuts and gravy for John and truffle mushroom for me! Oh, so good!

Fantastic! So friendly and accommodating! It's a nice and relaxed space with little nooks and crannies to sit. Music is eclectic which is refreshing as we are allergic to Western. The Truffle Mushroom special was so good! The arugula was a great pairing! Compliments to the chef and prep cooks! John really liked his B and G!

The food was to be expected, but my overall expectations based on the customer service was low quality...which is definitely important (coming from a customer visiting from out of town). Upon arrival, I was waiting by the sign that said wait here to be seated...but there was no host in sight, and after a few looks, I was told to go in line (by another customer) when I asked where I should stand while waiting to be seated. It was an unnecessary confusion for so many people waiting around. When I got to the front of the line, the lady at the cash register just said, "Oh, you don't have a number?" & rang up my order and gave me a number after that, which I was thankful for that. I was trying to simply enjoy my meal, but after getting up to use the bathroom (I had to wait a bit for that, as you need a code, which one of the workers there simply said the number out loud...which I tried to confirm was for the bathrooms? She kept walking)...my plate of food that I was finishing, was taken away and only my coffee and vitamin on the napkin I was using was left. I did not wish to cause a scene, but I did let my voice be heard, and let someone know who was working within eye sight behind the counter area that a portion of my food had been taken away and let her know that I had just tipped as well (while walking towards the bathrooms). I even let her know this was my one meal a day and obviously I wasn't happy about that (I probably had a good half of a plate left over, that I would have gladly taken back to my suite to finish up eating later!). She simply asked my table number, but didn't actually DO anything about it...if I was serving at the restaurant, I would have at least given a side of hash browns or maybe even a refund was called for. But nothing...I quickly left, shaking my head at the lack of basic customer service etiquette, empathy, & awareness. Based on my experience, I will not be returning.

Really great beautiful place! The service was outstanding. They helped us choose between dishes. Then the food came!!! Perfect presentation, the flavors! Can only recommend!!!

I was staying downtown for a weekend and had to go to this place both mornings I was in the area. It is THAT good! It's a cute restaurant on the corner with lots of windows that provide natural light. We were seated and given menus to order at the counter. The food came out quickly and was very delicious. Some of the menu items tried on both visits were the pigs eye breakfast, biscuits and gravy and avocado toast. All items were fresh and tasty! I didn't try the bakery items here since I was so full but next time I will need to get something to go. They have lots of pastries that look mouthwatering.

Went for a week day breakfast. You order at the counter, get a number and find a seat. Food came quickly and was hot. Items that are available gluten free or vegetarian are marked on the menu, but for GF items aren't extensive. Street parking (metered) is closest parking with a paid lot on the opposite side of the block.

Was in St.Paul for the week and stopped here about 3 of the days for breakfast! Super good and they have some sweets to pick up if that's your jive. I got the sausage and gravy and it was 5/5 and very flavorful. My roommate got the bacon and poached egg everyday from here and never complained lol. I would definitely add this to your list for breakfast or lunch.

Everything was amazing! The French toast melted in your mouth. The lemon lavender mimosa was delightful! Portions were huge! I liked the order at the counter and then get served at your seat model as it kept things moving at a nice pace! We will definitely be back!

Always a great choice. Friendly staff and yummy menu choices. Easy in & out, with street parking usually ample.

Unique breakfast options. Lots of local fish on the menu. The avocado toast was solid, with pickled onions and red pepper. The home potatoes are very good, with peppers and onions. Not crispy but some crunch. Nice little downtown breakfast spot.

I've eaten here several times and it's one of the places I know consistently has amazing tasting food. I've tried almost all the breakfast items and there isn't a bad thing on the menu, but the biscuits and gravy are the thing of dreams. The gravy is the perfect amount of meat to sauce ratio with layered flavors. We like the counter service. It's close to the farmer's market so it's fun to grab a bite then shop the local products. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. Portions are sizable and priced well. They have expanded their seating a lot, but on weekends it's still very busy. The only downside to this location is the lack of parking. It's mostly metered on street parking.

My favorite part about the buttered tin is that I can always count on them for two things. Their amazing eggs and their fresh baked pastries and pies. I always like to get my staples when the cravings hit. I was in luck to see one of my favorite soft scrambles was the soft scramble of the day and that the cinnamon rolls were half off. I also like to try a new dessert and today I tried the blueberry pie. It was amazing, especially if you like that sort of thing. I particularly liked the crust and the topping. The Salmon soft scramble was so good I forgot to capture a photo of it. I ordered hashbrowns as a side and was offered to substitute it for a different item in my entre vs add it on which was nice of the staff to offer that. The service was fun, delightful, and quick. And there was ample seating.

Really good food. I arrived early on a Saturday and the place really filled up a short time later. Arrive early to avoid the line.

We started with the Brussels sprouts, which are flavorful and crispy. For entrees, we tried the short rib (melts in your mouth) and had to get the burger (decadent + delicious). The restaurant itself is really beautiful and it's also very big. I guessed 200 seats plus patio. The space is very elegant, and clearly a lot of attention went into the design. I would describe it as kind of modern steakhouse vibe. Dark wood, faux fur and leather finishes, etc. Elegant. We were seated at a booth by the bar with a big window view of the patio and parking lot. We were immediately slightly offput because the marble ledge separating the booth from the window was dirty - grease and little food crumbs. Not the best first impression. The booth and table were both clean though. Our waitress, Ash, did provide good service but I would say honestly she was a bit too attentive if that makes sense, and she was also too chatty for us. There were several times when she lingered at our table to tell us something we didn't inquire about or to just talk about something. It was a bit annoying honestly. But the service itself was good. We were also visited by a manager during our visit. We each got a mocktail (it was lunch) but they have an impressive drink menu. I got the Red Rose which was really tasty, and my husband got the pineapple drink, which he also said was good. -We ordered the chimichuri shrimp appetizer, which was pretty banging. Four really large shrimp, each on its own piece of bruschetta, doused in chimichuri sauce. Even for me, with a low spice tolerance, it was just the right amount of spice and it was really really good. -We also got a round of oysters. The oysters themselves were fresh - no complaints there. When they were delivered to our table, the person did not tell us which variety was which (pretty standard when serving oysters at any restaurant). Because we eat oysters a lot and one of the varieties was sweet petite, it was fairly easy to tell which was which. But in my opinion, there should have been information given when the oysters were served. The other big issue was the shucking. Some of the oysters hadn't been fully separated from the shell, and we both found ourselves picking bits of shell from our mouths. We actually had a little discussion about the $6 price tag. I felt it was reasonable, my husband felt it was high. But for $6 apiece, the oysters need to be shucked properly and these were not. Ash also made a point to tell us all kinds of information we didn't ask for about their happy hour, which includes $3 oysters. That would be a steal if they learn how to shuck them. -I got the half french dip sandwich, and I was really glad I just ordered the half because what I was served was totally a whole sandwich in my book. The accompanying fries were delicious, crispy, deep golden brown and hot. The au jus served with the sandwich was slightly on the salty side but not terrible. And I do realize it's au jus. In all it was a pretty decent sandwich. -Hubby got the sea bass sandwich, which was also pretty tasty. I'll be honest and say that I think the entree sea bass would have been better. The fish was so good that I don't honestly think you needed the bun. But it was really good and fresh and delicious. We skipped dessert. In all, a pretty solid dining experience and the food was very good. But it was the minor things mentioned that bothered us, so 3 stars with room for improvement upon our return.
