Went for breakfast, as it was suggested by my daughter, who had ate here before. Not really the typical breakfast that I will see every day as it was lacking some protein/item. Got myself the egg Benedict because extra like à la cart deal. The walk up to order counter was a bit slow as it seems they were short staffed, and everyone was busy. The place was nice and table well organized. Just a little bit surprised about the menu and everything is like an à la cart if you need to add on something else because the breakfast platter isn't complete. This is such a cute breakfast/ brunch spot. Great location on the corner and the vibe and atmosphere inside is so fun. You go up to the register to order your meal and then wait for it to be called out so you can go and grab it. They have lots of dining/ seating space. I got a club sandwich it was amazing I also tried the chicken tortilla soup which is also very great. For dessert I finished off one of the cinnamon rolls, they're to die for a must have. I finally got the chance to try The Buttered Tin today for brunch with a friend. I've heard of this place a few times and was interested to see if it were any good. I have to admit seeing all of the reviews about their breakfast items being bland completely turned me off to breakfast so I tried the Chicken Salad Sandwich with a side cup of the Tomato Basil Soup, both of which were superb. The sandwich was perfect, chicken salad was moist and flavorful, even had crispy shallots which were a nice touch! This was some of the best tomato basil soup I've tried, packed with flavor, pretty thick, but fresh and even a little bit spicy. There were tons of flies swarming around the inside of the restaurant which made me gag. They could probably benefit from some pest control measures, flies were landing on their bakery items that were uncovered ... Overall, not the vibe. read more

The Sammie's were better than any biscuit sandwich I've had in the south--and that's saying something. The Thyme have it a nice touch. Pancakes with the bacon fat were not for me as it didn't like the flavor of the bacon fat and touch of cornmeal (just not my style). If you're going to order coffee, order a regular American coffee not a latte--it was weakly made and not at all strong. I had to order two shots of espresso to help it taste better. Server was very nice but the wait was very long as they may have been understaffed. 45 minutes to sit, even though there were empty tables. Heads up: 20% gratuity is already included in your bill. Every cappuccino this place produces is excellent and let's be real, when you aren't making the cap it's that much better, am I right?! But it's good! This place is a true gem. Delicious bakery goods and an awesome menu. As the staff was bringing a variety of plates to different tables, every single dish I saw I wanted! I ordered the huevos rancheros Benedict and it was a delightfully creative dish marrying huevos rancheros and a traditional Benedict. Cornbread was used as the base instead of a muffin and it was so yummy. Service was quick and kind. It is a order at the counter and then bring to your table set up. Throughout our meal two different staff came to check in, which is usually not the case at places with the counter order set up. The cinnamon bun had a unique caramelized flavor, and the frosting was deliciously rich--not fake. Unfortunately, the dough tasted a little old, dry, and chewy. Dunking it in coffee helped. The biscuits and gravy sauce had great flavor, packed with herbs and large chunks of tasty sausage. The biscuits themselves also had very tasty seasonings. This used to be a good breakfast jones spot (before Covid). We swung by to grab some goodies one morning (just pastries). We waited in line but when it was our turn, we somehow must have become invisible! Two servers stood behind the counter, talking to each other and ignoring us. Perhaps this was their training time? Hmmmm...not MN nice Butt Tin. Currently, they are charging a "Reasonable Living Surcharge" of 20% on ALL of their items. I'm a huge brunch fan so I was excited to try a new brunch place! We came on a Sunday with a party of 6. To my surprise we didn't wait long to be seated - maybe 5 minutes. The menu is pretty unique with many different options: breakfast sandwiches, a seasonal choice, your typical American breakfast, and so on. I went with the Banana Foster French Toast since I've never seen that on any menu before. It was very flavorful and very filling for a brunch meal! I did find it a bit odd that our meals all came out at different times. My meal was one of the first out so by the time all of our dishes were served, my French toast was a bit soggy. As much as I liked my breakfast, it was drenched in caramel sauce which made it a tad too sweet for me. Just a few things to note for your trip here - there isn't a parking lot, so street parking might be your best bet. Also, they tack on a 5% fee/surcharge onto each order, but mention that it is not gratuity so it was a bit confusing as to whether or not an additional tip was necessary. You can taste the quality of a restaurant by its simple less expensive offerings such as the hot quinoa cereal in fruit dusted with cinnamon sugar. It sounds too healthy but it's actually tasty. The granola & yougurt was really good for 2 reasons. The yogurt was not sour and the fruits complimented it well. Both were under $8 The next too were heavy entrees The buttered tin hash is a good dish. It's served with 2 slices of toast buttered & jammed. It comes with potatoes, onion, red pepper, egg and sausage in a skillet. It is savory, salty and provides variety in each bite. The biscuits with gravy is better than average because the biscuit does not crumble easily which means you get to taste the biscuits on its own as opposed to it just blending in with all the other ingredients and that's a good thing.
