My friend has been raving about coffee at The Buttery so I had to check it out for myself. There is plenty of parking in the plaza they are in. The business has a few tables outside and a good amount of seating inside as well. I ordered a Ube Cream Coffee - Saigon Style ($5.50). Yummmm!! I love how strong but creamy and delicious this coffee is. I'm hooked! I am Vietnamese and I approve of this cup of coffee. While I was there I saw their glorious casing of pastries and I couldn't resist. I ordered and enjoyed: 2 Garlic Bread ($5.35/each), Chocolate Croissant ($6.60), Almond Croissant ($6.85), Cinnamon Pull Apart Bread ($4.75) and 2 Macarons ($3.20). Their pastries are fantastic. My boyfriend doesn't enjoy sweets as much as I do so that garlic bread was good for it. The croissants were really flakey and flavorful. I enjoyed the bread. For the macarons I was given a third one as a thanks for all the items I orders and I liked all 3. Yum! Wish I could come back to support the business, especially with their incredible coffee, but I was told that they will be closing on 7/31/26. I'm so sad I didn't discover them sooner. I personally love the garlic buttery and salted egg pastries here. They both are unique with strong flavors, I'd also highly recommend trying their lychee yogurt drink too. BUT beware because the drinks aren't consistent depending on who does the mixing. The Caucasian male staff always makes it better. One last thing that I could never resist buying is their cookies. This spot is close to my workplace and I was super excited to try it after seeing the Korean garlic cheese bread! Sadly, the couple of times I've gone have been around 3/4PM (they close at 5PM), so the variety is lacking and it might not be the most fresh. I've tried the baked goods toasted in an air fryer, and straight away - definitely worth taking the time to heat it up. It's a nicely decorated bakery/cafe and the workers are always friendly. There's both indoor and outdoor seating available. I've gotten the: spinach and cheese croissant, pistachio croissant, large and regular cream cheese garlic croissant, white chocolate and macadamia cookie, and a red velvet cookie. The spinach and cheese croissant was okay, would not get it again; when I took a few bites out of it and got to the middle, I saw that it was pretty empty of filling and this was reflected in the lackluster taste. Red velvet cookie was super gooey and seemed par-baked in the middle; I know some people like this quality in their cookies but I was not a fan. The white chocolate macadamia cookie was baked through and had a good crunch to it, but I sadly did not get that many macadamia pieces. The pistachio croissant was pretty good! It had a white chocolate topping with crushed up pistachios, and a nice nutty pistachio filling. The croissant was pressed down so it wasn't super airy, but it was still good and I would definitely get it again to remedy any pistachio cravings. The cream cheese garlic croissants (both large pull-apart, and regular croissant) were very rich and decadent, overflowing with cream cheese. They're good heated up in the air fryer so they retain that crisp! The only thing is there was barely any garlic flavor the separate times I've gotten them, and I'd argue that there's too much filling that ends up going to waste. I tried this place to experience a new spot. The banana toast matcha latte immediately reminded me of banana flavored taffy versus the other banana matchas that I enjoy on the daily. Even if the ingredients are just as fresh, this is the best way to describe the flavor profile. It will satisfy you if you're looking for matcha with a sweet candy like craving. Berries and cream croissant was a great ratio of cream to croissant with slight tartness from the fruit. Add in the salted egg croissant with a gooey center and a perfect creamy salt taste. They have a $4 deal on weekdays which I think is really nice, and I happened to be there on a Wednesday for the garlic cheese bread! The matcha drinks were subpar imo, although I don't want to base my judgement too heavily on them, I do feel that there was a significant amount of hype around them. They also have $4 on their hojicha drink. I like that they have different versions of matchas including blueberry and strawberry. I have tried their $4 Monday cold foam matcha. When I came in they were out of oat milk so I got their almond. I got it half sweet and it wasn't very sweet at all which was good for me. The cold foam wasn't very creamy and the $4 drink honestly tasted like $4. There was lots of ice but it wasn't bad. Just not a whole lot and nothing crazy good. I do want to come back to try their pastries. I like that they offered lots of different versions of their cookies and macarons. Their croissants ($6.75-$7.15) look divine with savory and sweet options. They even had different types of fruit tarts. I want to like this place more... the ambience is great -- cozy and beautiful, and the pastries and drinks are tasty. The woman working was friendly and helpful (although when I was there, only one person was working the register, heating the food, and making the drinks by herself, causing a bit of a wait. ) But the prices are crazy. $7.75 for a large tea? That's outrageous. Comparable teas with juice at other local places are a dollar or more less expensive - and often also include boba or jellies. All the croissants (~$5.25- $6.65) are very big and shareable. Their Garlic Cheese Croissant is their most popular item, so I was expecting great things. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. I've had the Garlic Bagel at Calic Bagel in LA, which is amazing, so I thought this would be similar, but it didn't even come close. The croissant itself was soft and buttery but lacked the crispiness and flakiness I look for in a good croissant. The Cookie Croissant was kinda crazy. It had cookies on top and inside, and the inside was more raw and gooey, which I actually liked. However, this was incredibly sweet, almost to the point of being too much. Definitely couldn't finish half on your own without feeling a toothache coming. They also do Matcha Mondays where matchas are $4, and they have a stamp card that gets you a free one after your 6th visit. They offer a variety of drinks like coffee, teas, and fun options like Ube Lattes and Toasted Banana Coffee. Their beans come from Moongoat Coffee, which is cool. I couldn't help but feel like they were trying to do a lot. On top of the various croissants (different cookies, ham and cheese, prosciutto and cheese, almond, salted egg) they sell already, they also have macarons, cakes, mousses, tarts, and cookies, plus a whole menu of drinks I mentioned above. It's overkill. It's almost like they're doing too much and it doesn't quite come together cohesively.
