Ambiance: cute little coffee shop with pastries surrounded by plants Service: quick and to the point Food: it is ham and cheese croissant Friday for $4 and I had to try the cream cheese bread mini for $4. The croissant sandwich is pretty standard, nothing to really write home about. The cream cheese bread used dinner rolls so it felt a little dry, not enough garlic butter to penatrate the bread. The tiramisu latte was more like an einspanner, it was delicious. The coffee is really smooth. All three items cost about $16.
I randomly took my cousin and my nephew today 7/30/26 for the garlic cheese bread and found out they are closing and this saturday will be their last day of operation. I am definitely sad and bum out they are closing. I love the garlic cheese bread and all the varieties of croissants especially the pistachios croissant. Today was the first time my nephew tried the garlic cheese bread and he loved it, you know with little kids, they are picky eater too. We had to buy a few more garlic cheese bread and chocolate cookie chunk croissants togo for the very last time. Thank you the buttery for a wonderful 6 years.
Still love this spot, solid matcha and solid baked treats. I was super sad to hear they'll be shutting down :( check this spot out while you have a chance and I wish the owners best of luck on their next adventure
I've been meaning to try this place for a while and definitely will be back. I don't know what it must be like during rush hour or while it's busy but i went in on a saturday mid-day and the place was empty so service was really quick. The staff were nice and the coffee was delicious. I have a sweet tooth so I opted for the dirty banana and I was so happy with my choice, it genuinely made my day. i have been thinking about this place ever since and can't wait to go back.
Highly recommend the garlic cheese bread! So creamy and tasty made. They warm it up if you want to eat it there. The perfect salty pastry if you like garlic! And a good balance to a strawberry matcha with a sea salt cold foam cap. Service was prompt and friendly. Free WiFi, lots of seating available on a Sunday, good place to work or study. They have a bunch of other pastries I want to come back to try like the strawberry crossaint and ham and cheese! They have $4 day deals which is so nice, definitely returning!! Very chill ambiance and relaxing and calm, not too crowded which I prefer!
Was initially very charmed by the pictures on Doordash -- however drinks were not very good. Matcha drinks (ie. strawberry, banana) had no taste of matcha and were very milky. This spot is close to my workplace and I was super excited to try it after seeing the Korean garlic cheese bread! Sadly, the couple of times I've gone have been around 3/4PM (they close at 5PM), so the variety is lacking and it might not be the most fresh. I've tried the baked goods toasted in an air fryer, and straight away - definitely worth taking the time to heat it up. It's a nicely decorated bakery/cafe and the workers are always friendly. There's both indoor and outdoor seating available. I've gotten the: spinach and cheese croissant, pistachio croissant, large and regular cream cheese garlic croissant, white chocolate and macadamia cookie, and a red velvet cookie. The spinach and cheese croissant was okay, would not get it again; when I took a few bites out of it and got to the middle, I saw that it was pretty empty of filling and this was reflected in the lackluster taste. Red velvet cookie was super gooey and seemed par-baked in the middle; I know some people like this quality in their cookies but I was not a fan. The white chocolate macadamia cookie was baked through and had a good crunch to it, but I sadly did not get that many macadamia pieces. The pistachio croissant was pretty good! It had a white chocolate topping with crushed up pistachios, and a nice nutty pistachio filling. The croissant was pressed down so it wasn't super airy, but it was still good and I would definitely get it again to remedy any pistachio cravings. The cream cheese garlic croissants (both large pull-apart, and regular croissant) were very rich and decadent, overflowing with cream cheese. They're good heated up in the air fryer so they retain that crisp! The only thing is there was barely any garlic flavor the separate times I've gotten them, and I'd argue that there's too much filling that ends up going to waste. Overall a good find, but definitely one of those places you go to for the occasional craving.

Wouldn't come here for their matcha specifically. Ham and Cheese Croissant (3.5/5): Pretty solid and was on the larger side. They heat it up for you but it would have been nice if it was heated up more...? Like it was warmed up but still also tasted like it had been sitting for a very long time. The cheese was fine but it wasn't my favorite pairing. The croissant dough itself could be more buttery and flavorful. Small Garlic Cheese Bread (4.5/5): This was their specialty offering so I had quite high expectations for it. It was very delicious and had great flavor! Found this very tasty when heated up to be eaten the next day in my air fryer. Overall I really wanted to like this place though I only had a couple of items for my first time here and it could've been better. I would definitely want to try their pistachio/cookie croissant if I'm in the area again.
I tried this place to experience a new spot. The banana toast matcha latte immediately reminded me of banana flavored taffy versus the other banana matchas that I enjoy on the daily. I ordered the "toast matcha latte" so it's more sweet than a typical banana matcha. It's not going to suit the tastes of someone that prefers the natural banana-cream taste. Even if the ingredients are just as fresh, this is the best way to describe the flavor profile. It will satisfy you if you're looking for matcha with a sweet candy like craving. I also ordered the large garlic cheese bread. This was another item that differed from my expectations based on previous experiences. The bread texture reminded me more of an American dinner roll, and the cream cheese was strong and leaned quite sweet. When I've had this item at Korean bakeries, the bread and overall balance were completely different, so this version wasn't quite to my personal taste. I appreciate the variety on their menu.
$4 Matcha Mondays is one heck of a deal! Bonus points for it applying to all matcha drinks on the menu. Like many others, The Buttery was put on my radar due to this unreal steal. I had to see what they were all about. Cute place, yummy looking pastries, and, I'm sorry to say, but just okay-ish matcha. While the strawberry puree tasted fresh and the matcha was freshly whisked, I didn't get many strong matcha notes. The drink felt more like strawberry milk. Not bad, but not what I was looking for.
Such a cute spot!! Came here for the garlic cheese bread and stayed for the lemon yuzu tart. I found this spot to be extremely charming with such a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Tried a little bit of everything from the berries and cream croissant, lemon yuzu tart, salted egg croissant, red velvet/snickerdoodle cookies, vanilla cruffin and of course the garlic bread. Everything was light, fluffy, with a perfect crust and crunch. There was not one thing that I didn't like- the garlic cheese bread was soo yummy, definitely get it warmed up to eat there; I will be getting the large size on my next stop. Berries and cream croissant was a great ratio of cream to croissant with slight tartness from the fruit. Add in the salted egg croissant with a gooey center and a perfect creamy salt taste. My absolute favorite was the lemon yuzu tart- sturdy tart that did not crumble, the lemon was sweet and gave that wonderful lemon kick and the topping combined with everything just made it too good to share. Looking forward to my next visit!
Located in a busy plaza with ample parking. Iced coffees are really good. Pastries look yummy and I will update after I try some. They were freshly baked throughout the morning. Cute seating designed for social interactions. I have not seen anyone working on laptops or studying here so it was a nice change.
My friend has been raving about coffee at The Buttery so I had to check it out for myself. There is plenty of parking in the plaza they are in. The business has a few tables outside and a good amount of seating inside as well. I ordered a Ube Cream Coffee - Saigon Style ($5.50). Yummmm!! I love how strong but creamy and delicious this coffee is. I'm hooked! I am Vietnamese and I approve of this cup of coffee. While I was there I saw their glorious casing of pastries and I couldn't resist. I ordered and enjoyed: 2 Garlic Bread ($5.35/each), Chocolate Croissant ($6.60), Almond Croissant ($6.85), Cinnamon Pull Apart Bread ($4.75) and 2 Macarons ($3.20). Their pastries are fantastic. My boyfriend doesn't enjoy sweets as much as I do so that garlic bread was good for it. The croissants were really flakey and flavorful. I enjoyed the bread. For the macarons I was given a third one as a thanks for all the items I orders and I liked all 3. Yum! Wish I could come back to support the business, especially with their incredible coffee, but I was told that they will be closing on 7/31/26. I'm so sad I didn't discover them sooner. There were a few tables available for indoor seating and since they weren't very busy when we arrived, we were able to order right away. I tried their Banana Matcha Latte and it was delicious. Give me a flaky, buttery croissant and I'm a happy girl. Give me a flaky, buttery croissant topped with cream and berries and I'm next level. My husband took me here for a Mother's Day treat. I ordered a strawberry and cream croissant and a churro latte. My girls shared a butter croissant and stole most of my berries. Everything was wonderful. The treats, the drinks, the environment. first i would like to say they had great customer service, atmosphere & to not reflect this as a bad review but simply average! i got the: 3.5/5 garlic bread 3.5/5 ham & cheese croissant: tasty & has good cheese & seasoning on top 2.5/5 artichoke spinach croissant 3/5 chocolate croissant to me the pastries were very buttery & flakey! But, overall i felt they were just average especially if they are to specialize in pastries. there are tons of donut shops etc that have really good croissants/ pastries so i would expect this place to be on another level above since it's the main items they sell. it was cute inside and they have awesome $4 daily deals which make it a good place to try on deal days! read more

Matcha lattes are pretty good. The Spinach Artichoke Croissant was a bit disappointing. Lacked the spinach and artichoke and croissant was flat and not flaky in the middle. Top was nice with the cheese though. Cute cafe shop but last time I was there, there was the lack of air ventilation. read more

Aesthetic cozy seating area, perfect for a date. Didn't try any of their drinks but their pastries were great. Yuzu Lemon Tart -citrus lover's dream, just the right amount of denseness. Crust was very buttery but too dense, wished it was a little less compacted. Passion Fruit Mango Tart -you taste more passion fruit than mango but was great. Slightly too sweet for my liking. Pistachio Croissant -very buttery and flaky. Pistachio filling wasn't too sweet. Might be better heated up, I was too lazy to heat mine up and it was still good. read more

I was finally able to stop by for their $4 matcha Monday deal! (So sad that it ends this month). I opted for the strawberry matcha which was yummy and sweet. They use strawberry puree so it didn't taste artificial. The matcha flavor is pretty light and the drink was somewhat grainy? It wasn't as smooth as I hoped it would be. The interior is clean, cute, and nicely decorated. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Seems like a decent study spot with some outlets along the wall and the music being not too loud. The staff gave us a warm welcome and the worker who took our order was friendly and kept a conversation with us as we were ordering. Their pastries look delicious and I was specifically eyeing the garlic cheese bread, which I hope to come back and try next time. read more

Nice & cozy place for some baked goods and drinks. Parking is plenty (big shopping area), clean and airy with cute, minimalist, easy in the eyes decor. Spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating area. Inside you got 2 types of tables, regular or booth type and they're quite cute & comfortable. Great & friendly services. A handful of pastries and a handful of drinks choices and cookies and they are all good. They do have daily special for $4 and they quite nice & tasty too. Oh how I love everything from the Buttery but especially their garlic bread! I wish I still lived in the area because I would love to go there more often. Every item they sell is baked with attention to details and great quality. The owner there is very nice and hospitable. Never a long line there because the store is run smoothly. I noticed that they sold homemade moonrakes that look professional and have unique flavors (such as meat flavor!). The matcha is quite grassy, with oat milk it taste like soy milk. The Buttery is a cute little chic pastries and coffee shop. They specialize in croissants, macarons, cookies, and matchas. They are currently offering on Mondays $4 matchas or buy 5 get 1 free. They also have $4 on their hojicha drink. I like that they have different versions of matchas including blueberry and strawberry. I have tried their $4 Monday cold foam matcha. When I came in they were out of oat milk so I got their almond. I got it half sweet and it wasn't very sweet at all which was good for me. The cold foam wasn't very creamy and the $4 drink honestly tasted like $4. There was lots of ice but it wasn't bad. Just not a whole lot and nothing crazy good. I do want to come back to try their pastries. I like that they offered lots of different versions of their cookies and macarons. Their croissants ($6.75-$7.15) look divine with savory and sweet options. They even had different types of fruit tarts. I did find pricing to be a little high which tarts being $6.75 each and macarons were $3.20 each. Their cookies are made by Leena and are $5 each. Came here around 3:40pm on $4 Matcha Monday which was a pretty good deal! I got one drink, but they also have a buy 5 get 1 free deal. The store is super clean with cute modern decor. There were some cute squishies and pastries. Store wasn't too crowded, and the line moved really fast. Once I ordered, my drink came out super fast. I got a salted cold foam matcha latte with no adjustments. Unfortunately, the matcha taste wasn't super strong and it ended up being a little milky. This might just be because the store was so busy, but I definitely wished there was more matcha. An extra shot of matcha would have costed an additional $2. Sweetness was fine and the cream tasted good. I would definitely come back again but only for the deal. read more

I've been on the hunt for the best croissant in socal, and sadly The Buttery was a miss for me. I tried the ham and cheese croissant, which should not be called a croissant. The layers and flakiness were missing. I saw that they microwaved it in a box, which made the bottom all soggy. The pastry gave me more bun vibes than croissant. I noticed that they have $4 Matcha Mondays. They use matcha from MatchaBot and coffee from Moongoat. read more
Stocked up on our favorite garlic cream cheese bread from the Buttery - they were amazing as usual. We also tried out their almond croissant for the first time and that was great! Both pastries were filled very generously and were perfectly flakey and buttery as well. The quality of the baked goods here are consistently good and can't want to come back soon for more! I'm pretty picky when it comes to croissants: I care about texture, visual appeal, and taste. I don't love the sweeter, denser Asian-style croissants, so with a name like The Buttery, I was curious to see what they offered. We ordered the Garlic Cheese Croissant, Pistachio Croissant, Cookie Croissant (Chocolate Chunk), and the Berries & Cream Croissant to share and try a variety. All the croissants (~$5.25- $6.65) are very big and shareable. Their Garlic Cheese Croissant is their most popular item, so I was expecting great things. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. I've had the Garlic Bagel at Calic Bagel in LA, which is amazing, so I thought this would be similar, but it didn't even come close. The Garlic Cheese Croissant had a soft cream cheese filling that was sweeter than I expected. I was hoping for something more savory and garlicky. The croissant itself was soft and buttery but lacked the crispiness and flakiness I look for in a good croissant. Honestly, I think the Garlic Cheese Bread might've been a better choice for that garlic flavor and texture. The Pistachio Croissant was decent. The pistachio filling was good and generous, not too sweet, and had a nice nutty balance. Again, though, the croissant itself wasn't crispy enough for me. I'd probably toast it for some extra crunch. The Cookie Croissant was kinda crazy. It had cookies on top and inside, and the inside was more raw and gooey, which I actually liked. However, this was incredibly sweet, almost to the point of being too much. Definitely couldn't finish half on your own without feeling a toothache coming. They also do Matcha Mondays where matchas are $4, and they have a stamp card that gets you a free one after your 6th visit. They offer a variety of drinks like coffee, teas, and fun options like Ube Lattes and Toasted Banana Coffee. Their beans come from Moongoat Coffee, which is cool. I couldn't help but feel like they were trying to do a lot. On top of the various croissants (different cookies, ham and cheese, prosciutto and cheese, almond, salted egg) they sell already, they also have macarons, cakes, mousses, tarts, and cookies, plus a whole menu of drinks I mentioned above. It's overkill. It's almost like they're doing too much and it doesn't quite come together cohesively. They could probably focus on a few things and do them really well instead of offering a little bit of everything. Unfortunately nothing really stood out to me and was not super memorable. Food: All of the pastries looked absolutely delicious and fresh. The display case was full of beautifully made baked goods that were super tempting. Although I didn't order any pastries this time around, I definitely plan on coming back soon to try them soon. As for the drinks, I tried 3 different matcha lattes, because they offer $4 Matcha Mondays, which is a great deal. However, I felt the matcha flavor was a bit too light for my taste. I personally prefer a bolder, earthier matcha flavor and wish theirs was stronger. Ambiance: The cafe has a bright, charming setup with a welcoming vibe. It's thoughtfully designed with cozy indoor seating and a nice outdoor patio area for those who prefer to sit outside. It feels like a great spot to catch up with a friend, get some work done, or just enjoy a relaxing coffee break. Service: Service was friendly, fast, and efficient. The staff greeted us warmly and were helpful in recommending their most popular drinks, which I always appreciate when trying a new spot. Even though it was a bit busy, they kept the line moving smoothly and got drinks out quickly. read more
$4 matcha mondays and fresh baked croissants!!! Their croissants are literal buttery goodness and flakey in sooo many flavors. From savory ham and cheese, garlic cheese, crookies, pistachios, almond and soo much more. You could go everyday and find something different. Plus they got coffee beans from MOONGOAT!!! ORDER honey hojicha latte (3.5/5) garlic cheese bread (3/5) the garlic cheese filling for the bread was tasty, but the bread was too dry for my liking. the mini size was the perfect serving size for me. the honey hojicha latte was good, but there was no hojicha flavor. the honey overpowered the drink. if the hojicha flavor was stronger, it would've been the perfect drink. SERVICE very kind! i asked which pastries were popular and he said the pistachio croissant, berry cream croissant, and garlic cheese bread. I got a pistachio croissant which also has dried raspberry pieces on top. The pistachio cream was light and fluffy, and it wasn't too sweet. The inside of the shop was pretty spacious and clean. They had other desserts that were on displayed, which all look so good. I remember they had also some marshmallow drink which looks interesting, but I was visiting and already bought drinks beforehand. read more
Amazing spot for beautiful looking pastries! They have a wide assortment from red velvet cookie croissants to garlic cheese, pistachio, and almond. Decided to give this place a try after finding it on Yelp and the coffee shop we were at earlier ran out of pastries. The interior is clean with both indoor and outdoor seating, though it was a bit too quiet inside probably since it was an hour to closing. We tried the ham and cheese croissant, garlic cheese croissant, and the yuzu lemon tart. The ham and cheese was a little dry and could've used more cheese. The garlic cheese croissant uses cream cheese and was loaded with filling so every bite had flavor. Our favorite was the yuzu lemon tart. It had a strong yuzu flavor, a really nice crust, and not too sweet. They also had a selection of drinks with interesting flavors, though we didn't try any since we literally just had coffee. Overall a nice spot and I'd maybe come back to try the drinks. read more
