One of my favorite coffee shops in HB! I get the matcha meadow with oat milk and the chicken burrito. Their staff is always sweet and orders come out quickly. Occasionally I try their lattes and the espresso is always perfect, never burnt. Their burritos are all extremely delicious and filling especially for the price. It's located in a busy plaza that has lots of restaurants so parking can be tricky at times. The staff was really kind and took the time to answer questions or provide recommendations. Ordered the following: - Dirty Horchata (Summer Seasonal Menu) - Melona Matcha (Summer Seasonal Menu) - Matcha Meadow - Pistachio Matcha Croissant Got to try their summer seasonal menu! The Dirty Horchata had a nice balance with espresso and spiced horchata base. The Melona Matcha felt light and summery - the mix of the melon and matcha was very interesting and unique but worked well together and was not that sweet. The Matcha Meadow had subtle floral notes from the lavender, but it stayed well-balanced and not overly sweet. Just like the name, a solid coffee. So on my way to run errands, I decided to grab a coffee with my kiddos in tow. I didn't feel like waiting in a long line for Brew Story ( plus they don't take American Express) so I decided to give Solid a try. Parking is tight, but it is free. This coffee shop reminded me of Sundays in Newport because they offer an upstairs lounge where some people were enjoying their coffee and on their laptop. The front desk barista was very sweet and gave great recommendations, and to my surprise, they had a Yuzu Matcha tonic on the menu. Which if you follow me, I'm a huge fan fan of this drink specifically and I always order it if they offer it. I decided to grab a couple of drinks which were the Matcha tonic and the Earl Grey Matcha. To my disappointment, the Yuzu did not taste the best. It was a little flat and had a subtle sweetness. The Earl Gray Matcha however was phenomenal. It was creamy, not too sweet and the Matcha flavor with the Earl grey was a wonderful touch. I allowed my kids to take a sip of each one of the drinks and everyone agreed that the Earl gray was amazing. It's unfortunate that this drink is seasonal and will be going away soon. I'll definitely be back! So far I would choose this place over Brew Story. Easier parking, great matcha and not loud. Plus they accept Amex! read more

Labor Day. Frontier Wifi down at home all week and tethering on my cell is weak (switching service on that too). Was looking for a place to do work with wifi and good coffee. Chose this place. A busy morning cafe especially on a Sunday. Expect to wait 15-20 minutes because this place is busy. Why? They use actual matcha and they blend their drink flavors well. What stands out for me about this cafe is they have fans inside their baked goods which keeps flies away. One of the more sanitary bake places. It only takes 1 fly to lay hundreds of eggs. read more

Quiet work-friendly cafe in OC! Cute space, plentiful seating, very little crowds, friendly staff, and some outlets. Not the best for drinks but a good option if you need a place to work/study that opens somewhat late & isn't crowded. We tried the matcha monkey (banana matcha) and their new summer drink, melona matcha. Their banana matcha was pretty sweet and strong in banana flavor in the cream top and syrup, but lacked the taste of matcha. Same for the melona matcha. Super refreshing as it's made with cantaloupe milk but no matcha. Not bad but they're not known for their matcha, so I would stick to their coffee. Minor things to note - they blast the AC so I would make sure to dress warmly or bring a jacket. Parking can be a bit rough but I confirmed with the barista that they don't check parking at the front, so you can ignore the time limit! read more

"Solid Coffee" is either the most honest name ever... or the bar was set very high. Luckily, they lived up to it. I pulled up while waiting on my sandwich from a nearby spot (multitasking at its finest), and decided to do what any self-respecting coffee enthusiast would do--wander into a local coffee shop like I know what "notes" I'm tasting. The barista immediately passed the vibe check and recommended the Groovy Gorilla iced latte--his personal favorite. Then he casually mentioned he makes it his own way, like some underground coffee remix. Say less. I told him to bless me with the custom version, and he delivered. (Shoutout to that man--he knew exactly what he was doing.) I also grabbed a massive chocolate chip cookie with sea salt flakes because... balance. You can't just have a handcrafted latte without a cookie the size of your face. That's against hipster coffee bylaws. First sip of the latte? Yeah... I got it. Banana, chocolate, peanut butter--basically if a smoothie and a dessert had a highly caffeinated, well-dressed child. Smooth, flavorful, and dangerously easy to drink. Only downside? It's in Huntington Beach and not LA, which feels like a personal inconvenience to me. But if you're anywhere nearby, this spot is absolutely worth pulling up to. Very cool layout with a loft upstairs great for studying. I like the interior design choices and it's nice and quiet. The matcha is on the grassier/bitter side and it didn't pair well with the yuzu sparkling as I would've expected. Finally checked out Solid Coffee Roasters. The shop itself is super cute with two floor which is great for studying or just chilling. A really nice touch I haven't seen elsewhere is that the workers actually walk your drinks to your table for you. I tried two drinks: Crème Bru-Latte (7.5/10): Really solid latte and not too sweet. The description mentioned a torched brown sugar top; mine didn't have it, but that might have been because I ordered it iced. Still good though :) Strawberry Matcha (4/10) : This one was a bit of a letdown as it mostly just tasted like milk and lacked that strong matcha or strawberry flavor. Since there are so many popular shops right here, parking can be a bit difficult to get near their shop. Even though the matcha wasn't my favorite, the service and the atmosphere are great. I'm always open to trying new things, so I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu read more

As the name suggests, this places brews a very good cup of coffee. It's located in a fairly popular corner of Warner and Beach. I came on a Friday morning around 8 am so there was ample parking. A clean modern vibe and a comfortable seating area above. Although there are many flavored coffee drinks on the menu, one can't really tell if the coffee is good until you drink it black. My drip was surprisingly good. I like my coffee strong and I'm biased towards light to medium roasts. I will double check on the bean used for the drip. Maybe even pick up a bag. I am on my way to a breakfast cafe to meet some friends this morning so I intend to bring my coffee with me. Most restaurants don't serve very good coffee :). Such a great little find! I stumbled upon this coffee shop while waiting for my car to get serviced and immediately loved how inviting it felt. The loft-style upstairs area was such a cute touch too. This is what top quality coffee taste like. This location is in a strip mall with several restaurants. I visited on a weekday afternoon and found plenty of parking in their lot (but I can see how it could get packed during busier times). The first-floor interior is small, just enough room for ordering, but there is second-floor seating and several tables outside under cover. I didn't go upstairs so not sure how much seating is up there. I ordered a hot vanilla latte. They had a plentiful pastry case which made making a selection difficult since everything looked so good. Even though their croissants and donuts looked yummy, I decided on a large chocolate chip cookie. I sat outside and relaxed. The latte was exceptionally great thanks to a perfect roast. The vanilla was light but exactly enough not to overpower the delicious flavor of the coffee. The cookie was also flawless, thin, fresh, and slightly crisp with chocolate chips in every bite. Considering the friendly service and comparable pricing, this place gets a SOLID 5 stars. read more

I like how there is a second floor with plenty of seating and quite a few outlets too. Vibe: Casual laid back with friendly servers. A quiet small study area upstairs with a few tables. Coffee: Single Origin and Blend bags for sale. Casa Keopi is their house blend sold to other businesses. Their Ethiopian single origin is light roasted, fruit forward, and well balanced. Blueberry Latte: (5/5) if made by one female employee. You don't see banana on the menu at many places so I definitely wanted to try it. The flavor was mellow and not too overwhelming in the banana direction. Coffee itself was not too strong. It was a nice sipper and the cocktail ice is a fun touch. My friend got the Blueberry Pancakes Matcha and I don't like matcha, but I kind of liked this one! However the matcha flavor & taste was a bit stronger and better in the yuzu matcha! If you don't mix the drink well enough, it only tastes like yuzu. After several searches online I found Solid Coffee Roasters and settled on them because I saw they had a banana matcha. After walking inside we were greeted by the baristas who are so sweet and knowledgeable about the different drinks on the menu. After ordering the banana matcha I was craving we waited upstairs where they have plenty of seating. This would be a great place to work or study as it was relatively quiet and easy to focus if needed.
