Amanda is a master at her craft. This was my first time ever coloring my hair and she made it such a comfortable process. I have never been more in love with my hair. I had long, layerless black virgin hair. Amanda put in tasteful partial balayage pieces that will be able to grow with me. I know I can't come in often for touch ups, so it was very important to me my hair blended in with my roots. Amanda thought that was just as important to give me longevity. Whoever answered my call was not very friendly but the lady who did my hair was super sweet and nice. Love her bold hair color too. Overall good service. Just hopefully be nicer when you call. I looked on YELP for a high quality hair salon and found Bvsement. I called for an appointment and talked with Sammy and booked a same day appointment. I was surprised that she wanted a deposit for the appointment but since I knew that I was going to the appointment, I gave her my credit card number (which was applied to the final bill). When I met her at the salon, she took some time to understand what I wanted which was pretty simple really. I'm a guy and tend to comb my hair straight back. After we talked, she gave me a great shampoo and head message. Then the haircut. I can honestly say that she gave me the best haircut that I can remember. Instead of combing my hair straight back, it now falls to one side and I think it looks great. The haircut was a little more expensive that what I was used to paying but it was worth every penny. i can't say enough great things about Amanda and this salon! I lost my hair from cancer treatment, and it grew back thin, soft and frizzy. Before cancer I had a full, thick, curly head of beautiful hair. Amanda took the time to explain all the ways she could help with extensions. She was realistic with me-which I appreciated-but I got the extensions put in and when I saw myself in the mirror I cried! I Looked like my old self again! She did an amazing job-plus she was so sweet and patient with me! I highly recommend Bvasement! i wish I could give more the 5 stars! read more

Very nice that they returned a call....but later than all other salons. They made it clear that you paid for the service while making an appointment. I understand why they have that rule I am tired of paying fees up front for services I haven't yet received And paying for a stylist that I have never worked with. If she made a mistake, I have no recourse. Call me old fashion, but I like and (other salons do too) a bse of trust in each other. read more

I don't like to put negative reviews on Yelp, but since this is how I found this business, I have to share my experience. I was in town and needed a quick touch up. I didn't have time to get to my regular stylist as she was 100 miles away. I won't make that mistake again. My stylist at the Basement was really nice. I know she tried her best, but my hair is fried! It is breaking off like crazy and I am so glad I just had half of my hair highlighted. I think she knew it was bad based on the conversation after the foils came off, but by then it was too late. My hair is very fine and had been previously highlighted. Now it is a mess. To make things worse I was charged over $300 to look like a tumbleweed. I am incredibly disappointed. read more

I waited and lived with my hair two weeks before doing this review. The owner, Amanda, did my full highlights and haircut (a dusting). I originally scheduled a partial and a legit haircut. After a consult, we agreed to a full with some lowlights. The color is fine, but I could tell the texture of may hair was really course after the treatment. Amanda was kind enough to gift me with a leave-in conditioner, but damage is damage. I have never had this much of a challenge combing through damp hair. I know I have fine hair, and I also know my hair after a chemical procedure. I am disappointed after spending nearly $500 dollars and not really receiving a proper haircut. Not a disaster, but not happy. Won't be back. read more

I moved out to desert a few years ago, and tried a few different hair salons (big and small) in Palm Springs and Palm desert, and Amanda is my favorite hair stylist I found so far. She has a just right size of one on one room, so her service in my booking time is solely focused on myself and my hair. I did full color and haircut and i am very happy about it. My hair gets brassy easily so she also toned it perfectly. The price is very reasonable for her experience and service that she is offering. I would recommend to anyone!!! read more

Called to reschedule my appointment due to illness and I was informed I had to make an additional deposit of $30 to reschedule and forfeit my original $30.00 deposit. I hadn't called within 48 hours of the appointment. They are ruthless with this and lost a client. I would have understood if I was cancelling and not rescheduling but to treat you customer who hadn't planned on being ill and charging them more is such bad customer service. I understand the rule, I'm sure they have been burned but when you are in business you need to know good customer service and sometimes be more flexible and treat your customers like you care. read more

Just got some awesome braids done by Jasmine. She is amazing. Great style, creative, engaging, and talented. The salon is beautiful. New, modern and clean. I already booked my next appointment for cut and glaze!! I love that they take a small deposit when booking the appointment. It assured me that my time slot was mine, and it applied to my services. This let me know that their time was valuable, and so is mine. It also was not a large deposit so not inconvenient at all. Viktoria absolutely saved my hair and made me feel confident again! She's as sweet as can be and so skilled at her craft. On my first visit, I got a trim and long layers; It was the best haircut I've ever had. I came back about a month later to dye my hair black. Melina cut my hair after I struggled keeping it long after Covid! I was at my wits end, frankly! Usually I research stylists, get recommendations, read reviews, etc. in this case I did none of the above! Thank heavens I didn't, because so many of the pictures featured long hair, so I would have thought they didn't specialize in shorter cuts.
