I went in today for a haircut and left sooo happy! The booking process was very easy when I did it online. When I walked in I was immediately greeted and I was told that they were running a little late, which I did not mind. I appreciated the transparency and told the ladies I was glad to wait. Jasmin cut my hair and was so sweet and friendly. She offered me water, tea, or coffee while I was there which is so nice (I can completely see why she is the manager, customer service skills are amazing!) she explained to me what she was doing the entire time. I was extremely disappointed with my visit to the Bvsement Salon. When I went searching for a place to do my hair for my small civil ceremony, I was calling around looking for prices. When I called the Bvsement, I spoke to the owner Amanda. I told her that I was getting married but it was a small ceremony and I just needed a curling and a half up, half down hairdo. She was super kind on the phone and quoted me two different prices: $60 for a hairstyle and $90 for a wash and hairstyle. I chose the wash and hairstyle and put down a deposit as was required for an appointment. When I got to the salon on the day of my appointment, the girls seemed professional and nice and I met my stylist and showed multiple pictures of the hairstyle I wanted which all were half up half down hairdo with curling. When I mentioned that I was getting married, the manager Jasmin swooped in, looked at the picture of the hairstyle I wanted, and said that it was too complex and that I had to pay the bridal service fee of $170 for that service. When I told her of my phone call with Amanda, she called her and told me that I misunderstood Amanda when I originally called her. I absolutely did not misunderstand because I doubled checked the numbers with Amanda twice while on the original phone call and she never mentioned the $170 service. I did not want to lose my deposit so I asked Jasmin if there were any services that I could get for the price of $40 and she said no and that the cheapest service they have was at $55 for a wash and blow dry. Since I needed my hair done for the day, I agreed on paying $90 for just the hairstyle and no wash. I was upset but I decided to let it go. The next problem that came up was when my stylist was finished, I told her I did not feel like the updo bun was solid, I felt like it would fall out. She assured me it wouldn't and overall it looked nice in the mirror so I paid and left. Within 30 minutes of getting home, the updo did in fact fall out, as I suspected, and I had to get a family member to redo it. Overall, It is very disappointing that they tried to charge me double the original quote I received, and stated that I was the one who misunderstood the owner on the phone but it was even more upsetting that I paid $90 for an updo that did not even hold for longer than 30 minutes. I also checked their website later that evening and did see that they do have a curl & style (no blow dry) service on their list for $40 so why didn't they offer me this when I asked about any services for the price of $40? I felt like they were not even trying to work with me, or suggesting other options and they just wanted the highest price they could get out of me. read more

I really loved this Boutique type Salon... It was a different experience for me than the regular salons.. It was Private, Quaint, one-on-one and no distractions. It felt much more personal & comfortable. Amanda did a great job on my hair & she is quick! I have had a lot of compliments. My hair hadn't been touched through this whole pandemic. It was dark, drab, dry, gray's showing and out of control. She gave it a nice trim, cut in some layers, then she did some Balayage to lighten, gave it a nice condition and give it life again.
