    Stryper 30th Anniversary
    Rhonda G.

This is one for the MN believe it or not museum.I was here last summer to see Stryper. It was a Christian metal band's 30th anniversary of To Hell with the Devil. I also named my cat after them. I never saw a band here before. Somehow I got it in my head that the audience would be born-again pro-lifers. Not a chance, metal fans win out every time. Michael Sweet still has his body, looks, and voice from years of clean living.Standing room only if you want to see anything. I was off to the side.We ducked out through the other bar to beat the crowd, only to find our car boxed in. Parking gets very creative in this lot when the sun goes down. Fortunately there were some guys hanging around that guided me out. This experience is bucket list material and Basil and I survived it.

We went to an outdoor concert here and really enjoyed it. It was crowded, but the Cabooze planned well for the crowds. Several bars set up, fencing to direct the crowds and plenty of porta potties. Drink prices were reasonable. If you don't like the options at the multiple outdoor bars, you can go inside the Cabooze or Whiskey Junction or The Joint. It's great that it's right across from the Franklin stop on the Green Line. Loved not having to worry about traffic or parking. I would go to a concert here again.

Cabooze Outdoor Plaza -- Essentially, you are raging in a parking lot. Feels like one big ol' tailgate. Love it!

It's an intimate venue and brings in some of my favorite bands like Delain and Hammerfall.

It was not the usual calm & collective North Loop vibe lol. It was too loud (not the music... the people were loud AF) so I had to leave because it was so extremely loud with some obnoxious loud groups of parties. I haven't tried the food here since we came here for after brunch drinks.

Could be the MN's best rooftop patio... but it's not!…read more I have to share my experience because I truly think management could use this feedback to help support and educate staff. Upon entry, there's no host stand or sign telling guests to seat themselves. Our group of 3 sat down at a dirty table and waited 15 minutes without anyone acknowledging us or clearing it off. I finally went to the bar to ask if we had a server, and the bartender pointed to a staff member on their phone behind the bar. Our waitress eventually came over to take our drink order, but she didn't bother to clear the table or introduce herself. After bringing our drinks, she then informed us dinner service had ended 30 minutes earlier. This information would've been nice to know upfront! The Rooftop Bar is so cute, great views, and has SO much potential because the space itself is great. I just hope management sees this as an opportunity to improve the guest experience because the service was honestly shocking, and not in a good way!

The space itself is beautiful with a really cozy ambiance, and the patio is a great option when the weather is nice. The drinks are absolutely the star of the show. You can tell there is so much intention behind both the flavors and the presentation. The cocktail menu is super creative, and the Old Fashioned menu alone is phenomenal with so many unique options. The Beorn Old Fashioned was my favorite. We also tried the Payanello (pineapple, lime, ginger, pickled jalapeño) and it was incredible. Food was fantastic as well. The brussels sprouts were so good and a must order. Service was amazing. Our server was so kind, helpful, and gave great recommendations, which made the whole experience even better. It is on the pricier side, especially for drinks, but honestly worth it for the quality and experience. Reservations are easy to make and I would definitely recommend booking ahead. Parking was manageable when we went, but I could see it getting tricky during busier times. Overall, such a beautiful, thoughtfully done space with incredible drinks, great food, and top tier service. A perfect spot for a night out or just grabbing a cocktail and soaking in the vibe.

Inside is beautiful, with leather and wood everywhere. It's a large space, but still feel cozy. Since they specialize in whiskey, that is the base for many cocktails; I actually think that 90% of the cocktail list is whiskey of some form. We also tried a spice bag, which was phenomenal! One of those things I loved so much, I'll probably get it every time I go now. If you're looking for a great place to try some great cocktails, OS Distillery is the place for you!

All their "non bourbon barrel" beers are really interesting and ended up being really fun. All-in-all I ended up trying 9 beers this year and the only ones I wasn't a fan of was the ice wine. I hadn't had food there before, though. The pretzel is not the type I usually like. It's a denser, paler dough and stuffed with cheese. Personally I'd like a traditional Bavarian or pub one. The sweet potato fries on happy hour were excellent, though. That said: it is blasphemy to serve them with ranch and only ranch. Need a garlic aioli and/or marshmallow fluff to make it a must-order. You know I'll be back. Maybe not for food, but hopefully before the next beer week.

The ceiling is beautiful and there are some cool decorations. It's a darker space that can get crowded during peak hours, although we went during a weekday lunch hour and it wasn't busy. The service was a little brusque compared to what we are used to, but not in a bad way--the staff were still fast and attentive. We had the cubano and the ham peach panini. Both were flavory albeit a little small for the price ($18). The fries were fresh and quite good. Town Hall may not be worth a trip if you're not a beer drinker, but if you're on the West Bank and need a bite to eat it's not a bad option!
