We had to wait almost an hour because we visited during Lent and they were serving Crawfish. But it was worth it. My fried catfish was golden brown and seasoned to perfection. My wife who cannot tolerate spicy food found a po-boy that she loved and did not burn her mouth. My son's fried shrimp was delicious. The waiter came by frequently, but did not pester us. We came to eat crawfish during crawfish season. They were tiny but tasted pretty good. The wait staff was very nice! The bar was great, but the actual seating was not the best. Dirty floors, tables, and bathroom. If you are just wanting to get drinks and appetizers at the bar, absolutely check this place out! On a Tuesday Night! While driving to my hotel I saw the shrimp logo the words were small but I was like " Cajun" let's check it out. Hostess was sweet and sat us quickly. I had "Nonkys Fonky Potatoes" for appetizers that was so good definitely recommend !!! My dad ordered the Buffalo shrimp wrap and we shared the gulf shrimp. Just us 2 we devoured everything.. but secondly I want to shoutout our server named "Kinsy" My apologies if I spelled it wrong. But she was excellent and super kind. Not being from Lafayette, we came across a lot of mean and rude servers kinda of ruined the Lousiana experience for us. That was until we came here. I have been hearing about this place for some time now and finally made a visit with my wife and two kids. The food was amazing just like we would have cooked at home restaurant was full but food came out fast. 6 year old and 14 year old ate burgers and wife got catfish plate I got seafood platter. Oh my goodness. We came in on a Tuesday night and it was packed. Louisiana Jeep Association was there, loud and rowdy. It was so cool. Grabbed a beer and found one table (surprisingly!) We started with the 'loaded logan' as our appetizer...it was just ridiculous in the best possible way. Runny fried egg on top of little sliders of oh-so-yummy barbecued sausage links and awesome bread... really incredible. We moved on to our entrees, Hubs got the 1/2 catfish poboy (um, HUGE..whole filet!) and I got a 1/2 Pirogue poboy. Both came with seasoned fries. He said it was really good. But yeah, you want what I had, lol. It's sooo amazing. Basically perfectly fried shrimp with crawfish "sauce", (I'd call it etouffe' without the rice) on top of it.. Lord have mercy. Hands down this was the best plate lunch I've had in Lafayette. By the time I arrived in Louisiana (after 2pm) all of the places I frequent were closed. I was craving a plate lunch from my hometown and after a few searches I came across this place. The staff was friendly, and made me feel right @home. The food was served hot, seasoned just right, and the portion was so big I was able to eat off of it twice! I had the country style ribs and fresh sausage w/ cabbage, black eyed peas, a slice of cake, a slice of bread, and rice & gravy. I ate every bite! This is a must try for local fare and a great environment. The prices are reasonable and the portions are ginormous. They even custom prepared a kids crawfish plate. I had the Pirogue Sandwich, wife had the Shrimp Salad, and kids had a burger and crawfish. We will be back. read more

I sat at bar and ordered a beer which was not cold at all. Tyler offered everyone fried pork rinds, but it was not offered with my beer. I ordered the gumbo and crawfish nachos to go. 30 minutes later- nothing. Service was slow. She said they had to make more gumbo. Person arriving 15 minutes after me got her gumbo and I was still waiting. Service were horrible. I cancelled my order and dined at Burger King. Will not be returning. read more

Our family went tonight and were so glad they were open on New Year's Day! We had quite a wait but they were pretty busy - maybe because of the holiday, maybe because everybody was wanting crawfish at the beginning of the new season or maybe just because they're very popular. We got a pager and waited patiently ... an estimated half-an-hour turned into about an hour. Thank goodness for their new dining area located next to the original smaller bar space, because both were as full as they could be. Well, as much as they could be with COVID restrictions in place. The staff was great - they patiently answered questions and seemed to be on it in regards to the seating and wait list. Our waitress, Caroline, was super sweet and took her time with us, making sure we continually had what we needed. She chit-chatted with us and made sure that we didn't feel rushed. The food was delicious! The crawfish had great flavor, were easy to peel and were juicy. My son's crawfish po'boy was overflowing with fried crawfish tails, which was a welcome surprise - they filled the po'boy halves, then covered his plate! They were delicate and beautiful, not overbreaded or overcooked. My husband and younger son each had burgers, which were both very good. We'd been in one other time, about a year ago, and liked it then - but I think the food has gotten even better since. We will be going back for sure! Thank y'all for the great experience! read more

We stopped in for lunch on Thursday and had the daily plate lunch of Chicken Stew. It as out of the park! Enormous amount of gravy, but it as perfect, no dry rice! Owner refused to honor a legitimate gift certificate he had donated to a silent charity auction. Only through stern insistence and a call to the auction chairperson was it accepted. Very embarassing.
