Absolutely amazing experience with The Cakehole. I had been searching all around for a bakery in the Indianapolis area to make my son's Wednesday Addams themed birthday cake. It's become a family tradition to have over-the-top birthday cakes, but I was striking out everywhere for weeks as it's May and therefore wedding season has begun. I wanted black buttercream frosting with minimal food coloring icing a red velvet cake, which means using black cocoa in it. Desperate, I posted to a Facebook group for suggestions, and the owner was tagged in the comments. I sent her a message and she worked some kind of magic to get me squeezed in last minute. The price was reasonable for what I was asking for, and I was happy to drive out to New Pal to pick it up. Not only was the order completed on time, but it is GORGEOUS, and it is exactly what my 8 year old had envisioned as he was describing what he wanted. I swear to you, I will make the drive every year for another one of her masterpieces and for her amazing and timely service. I'll just call her FIRST from now on. Really good cupcakes. We have been here several times, and we just order what's available -- we have never placed an order for pickup. Anyhow, they cake is always a nice density, which seems to maintain moisture because I have never had a dry cupcake from here. I also really like their icing. The variety of flavors are nice, and the flavors really are spotlighted. I wish the hours we more friendly, but that is what it is. I want to preface this review with the fact that I had followed The Cakehole's facebook page two years before my wedding date. So I had already been a long time fan before I even booked with them! I wanted to have a long engagement to be able to pay for everything I wanted in a wedding so I had ample time to look at all of the amazing designs Jovanna and her mother have done the past several years and I am just absolutely blown away by how much talent spills over in that bakery of theirs. I think you can honestly go into their bakery with any cake or dessert idea you can think of and they will be able to create your vision into reality with no issues! I strongly advise visiting their facebook page to see all of the things they have created, you will not be disappointed. When my fiance and I came to the bakery for our tasting, we were greeted very warmly and all of our questions were answered promptly. I am actually not a very big fan of cake so whatever our flavors were I knew I wouldn't "like" but I still wanted to give our guests yummy flavors to choose from. I say this with 100% honesty, The Cakehole is the only place to ever have cake I actually liked! Their All Berry Lemonade cake is out of this world and was a huge hit with our guests as well as myself! And to top it all off, if you book with The Cakehole, you can contact the bakery a month before your one year anniversary and they will make you a replica mini cake of your wedding cake to eat on your first anniversary date for free! I was really excited when this place opened! The hours made it impossible for me to get a cupcake from here. When I finally found a day where I could go, I was disappointed. My expectations were very high and the cupcakes just didn't quite meet them. The cupcakes were very dense and had too much really sweet icing on them.
